Im slowly trying to come around to the positive, despite the coaching breakdown. I just dont see a whole lot we need on offense. If you can hang with the Chiefs, the offense is pretty good. Seems the area for improvement is on the D. The pass rush almost got there aint going to cut it against that team. Positives: Diggs and Davis, is a pretty good combo, Beasley fills his role very well. Singletary and the running game improved as the year went on. Knox could take another step and add some more yards receiving to the TDs. Got high TDs, middle of the pack yards. This team could be a destination for vets that want one more crack at the ring. If you can turn this D up just a few notches, I think were as complete as anyone. Chiefs D line has more talent than ours. McD will have to up his game also. Show me some good defensive scheming. Next year is the year for bold moves by Beane. Some vet comes on the trade market, he needs to be ready.

Sullivan: Bills' McDermott choked away Super Bowl-caliber season
billsfan714 replied to QCity's topic in The Stadium Wall
Its kind of like a Breida fumble, do it again and you wont see the field--have to answer to the coach. Make terrible crucial time coaching decisions, it cant happen again---have to answer to the owner. -
I will say this, it was the most incompetent and gutless coaching you will ever see. Incompetent---didnt communicate kicking it before the goalline whether squid or a popup kickoff. Didnt do the holding on first down, you can do it once. McD said they considered it, I dont believe it. then why didnt you do it. No line chuck on Kelce at the snap. Nope lets let him run free Gutless-McD went into a deep prevent defense when the Chiefs only needed 30 yards to be into Butkers range with 2 timeouts in hand. He coached scared, and practically guaranteed they would get the FG. Edmunds 15 yards off the line, deep safety 30 yards off the ball and going backwards at the snap. Both top 2 seeds knocked out in the NFC, the number 1 seed in the AFC was gone and you were playing the no. 2 seed. I said it before and I will say it again, the only thing that makes sense to me is he and Frazier both had mini-strokes after Gabes TD and they thought the Chiefs needed a TD. It was like here Andy, take it.

If we lose Wallace I would say CB and I know I lot on here wont like hearing this but DE. I see no way AJ Epenesa is starting material and with losing Hughes/Addison its a huge hole. The love to rotate and Im not sure Boogie is starting material either. Then G, another NFL quality TE, DT big boy to replace Star. LB so i can free up some money by cutting someone, WR, P

Should the Bills extend Edmunds?

Didnt Beane say Star was a force before getting covid. Starting to really worry about Beane's evaluation of D talent. -
No we are not overreacting.

What are the top three worst losses in franchise history?

Rob Johnson wasnt Steve McNair. Not even close. Keep dreaming. -
Score any game winning points with sub 10 seconds. That way you take McD and Frazier out of the equation.

With McDermott, you can't let the perfect be the enemy of the good

Yeah I call that a push. -

That is the perfect analysis of his game. A guy his size comes blitzing in, before contact stutters, pauses and and cant get past the back, when a guy with his size and speed should just truck the rb. Seen it time and time again. -
Sean Payton stepping down as the Saints coach

He did one hell of a job with no Micheal Thomas and a collection of junk at QB this year. -

Absolutely right. Maybe somebody can offer up a heartbreaking pre-season game or some scrimmage. -

I agree especially when it was a Bills team that was just so-so, any millenial Bills loss wasnt hard to get over. Its why this one was no.2 on my list. Superbowl 25, last play off the game, execute a FG and you are wold champions. That whole year I knew the Bills were the best team in football. We beat the Giants in there place with their starter Phil Simms in the regular season(pretty sure). This team, really seemed to flip a switch after half time of the Tampa game, In the NFC games, both mvp candidates were knocked out, leave Jimmy G and Stafford. Win this and the next game is at home, where our playoff record is like 10-1. This team could of gone the whole way. I doubt if we would of been an underdog against any of the remaining 3 teams. Rams maybe a push/slight fave because of the locaton. It was that close, I could see it. And boy does it hurt. Because I know this teams been trying for 50 plus years and dont fool yourself, it aint easy. -

And to go back to my anti-clutch reference, before they kicked off, fans who are not professional coaches, were thinking......whatever happens just dont get stood up and let them strip the ball, just get down, and then BAM, stoodup and ball stripped. LIke how can a professional team make that mistake when casual fans know what not to do.
