Great post. You're not going to be a physical team by continually drafting backs whether they're corners or runningbacks. Totally agree you can find runningbacks without using a first rounder, its not that hard. Texans-Foster-free agent, Bills-Jackson-free agent, Broncos-McGahee-free agent, Seattle has a 4th and a 5th invested in Lynch, etc. Just compare the Eagles and Steelers. I dont think the Eagles with Namdi, Samuel and DRC are in anybodys mind a great defense while the Steelers consistently are. The Steelers have Ike Taylor, Gay and Mcfadden at corner, no 1st rounders and no probowls there. But the heat the front 7 generate is the key. Someday the Bills FO may figure this out. Just think of all the great linebackers the Steelers have had over the years; Greg LLoyd, Levon Kirkland, Harrison, Woodley, Timmons, Joey Porter, Kendrell Bell, Kevin Greene, Chad Brown, Farrior, Jason Gildon and on and on. Most of them, not all, were drafted by the Steelers and a lot them in the first 3 rounds. Meanwhile Bills fans are counting the likes of Merrriman, Moats, Batten and DL turned LBs like Kelsay and Johnson. You give most NFL Qbs all day to throw they're going to find somebody open. It's why fans pull their hair out watching prevent defenses with 3 man rushes. While one sack can be the difference between a 30-40 yard completion and a 10 yard loss. One play and a 40-50 yard difference. The Bills first three rounds should be all about finding guys who can bring some heat, we can get corner depth in the 4th and 5th rounds.

The also signed Manning and Joseph to upgrade their secondary. I agree that things can turn around quickly if you get the right coordinator, stay awake in free agency and address your rush in the draft. Are you listening Buddy and Chan?

I read people on this board talking about Bowe being a FA next year. The Chiefs are like 30 million under the cap they will sign Bowe, so theres one I dont see hitting the market.

And they will more than likely miss out on Luck and Barkley as well as Blackmon. So they will still have noodle arm Colt and no receivers. Good luck trying to get by the Steelers, Ravens and Bengals in that division also.

Cleveland, they're going to move on from Colt, have no receivers, cant stop the run. I think they are close to the Bills but slightly worse.

I agree. I think Chan has coached up the offense with a WR corp of Stevie, Brad Smith and a bunch of F/As, a collection of TE's that is all FAs and an offensive line of Levitre and a bunch of F/As. Now when you look to Edwards there is no improvement, no coaching up. Moats isnt progressing, Carrington isnt doing much, McKelvin is going backwards, Batten, Dwan. Kelsay is his mediocre self. He couldnt find a way to utilize Maybin. The players cant shed blocks, cant fill holes, cant keep the edge, blow assignments at crucial times, there is no rush, on and on. If Chan goes into next season, knowing his fate is on the line by keeping Edwards, then he deserves to go after next year. And I dont want the stache either.

Stevie isnt a number 1 hes a possession receiver like Nelson. A number 1 is Megatron, Andre Johnson, Greg Jennings, Mike Wallace, AJ Green, Roddy White, Hakeem Nicks, etc.

If we dont do better than 6-10 this season Im going to be bummed. Means we took a 6-10 team and 2 years later are 6-10, that isn't progress, it's inertia. I think even the most optimistic fan would look at that as a disappointment, and if you're not disappointed you need higher standards.
