Im more interested in who will be DC under Marrone than OC since Marrone has an offensive background. I dont think Lovie is unrealistic. His coaching options would seem to be limited to teams that run a 4-3. That rules out a number of teams. The Bills would be a good stop for a guy like Lovie. Though he may not get a HC gig this year, if he turns around the Bills defense he would be a prime candidate for a HC gig in the future. To me, the Bills are a great opportunity for Lovie's future, a team with some talent on D that was obviously coched down under Wanny.

I just got done watching Cleveland 95 on NFL network. Belichick took the Browns to the playoffs going 11-5 and won a playoff game in 94, early in the 95 season it was announced the Browns would be leaving for Baltimore and it took the air out of the team. He was building that team. But I wouldnt say he "bombed" in Cleveland.

I hear what you're saying, Fitz did seem able to hit TO with a few deep balls a few years back. The QB coach certainly didnt improve his deep ball. The thing the drives me nuts about Chans dink and dunk offense is that it depends on long sustained drives. A holding penalty,a sack and then its stalled resulting in punt or a pass on 3rd down that is short of the first down marker.

You can't run a modern offense where the long ball is not part of your offense, and thats the weakest part of Fitz's game.

I agree with you, but Buddy usually has his card in going to the podium about 5 seconds after Goodell says the Bills are on the clock. I dont think we've traded down since Donohoe in the 3rd or 4th round of one of his drafts. Working the draft is for good teams and GMs like the Pats.

As a fan living in Pennsylvania, I keep seeing the Bills draft corners who never develop into shut down corners while the Steelers keep the linebacker corps stocked with picks. Quick on the last 2 Steeler superbowl teams how many number 1 pick corners did they have? Since 2000 the Steelers have never taken a CB with a first rounder and have only spent 2 second rounders on corners.

It seems a lot of people just put "football man" with any post about Buddy and that would make them immune from criticism of him. His Spiller draft is just that, Spiller and some backups. He drafted into strength at RB just like we always have. He spent high picks on corners and runningbacks, just like we always have. He slept through the first years of free agency. He traded a pro-bowl runningback for a backup OT. His defenders will say "oh Lynch wasn't happy here, might be suspended, etc." Well one team wasn't afraid about Lynch and a suspension, gave him an extension and will be in the playoffs and Lynch has rewarded them with 1000 yard/10TD plus seasons. Probably got the least impact guy at the top of the Dareus draft. Some more of his lowlights: Has not improved this team 1 game....one single game, in 3 years. Hired Chan Gailey Drafted for 3-4 then went back to a 4-3 Extended Chris Kelsay Hasnt improved the QB position Has tried to improve the WR corps with street FAs and few mid round picks Passed on local products Gronk and Mike Williams. This from a guy who said it isnt easy bringing people to Buffalo. You know who may want to play here Buddy, guys from the Buffalo area. If kool-aid drinkers could consistently defend disasters like Modrak(it was never his fault), they have no trouble defending Buddy despite overwhelming evidence of his failure.

I hate to say this but it looks like 6-10 or so again next year. Home---Falcons, Patriots, Ravens, Bengals, Panthers, Chiefs, Jets and Miami Away---Pittsburgh, Saints, Patriots, Tampa, Jaguars, Jets, Miami, Browns I suppose an optimist could say 8-8 if we sweep the Jets and Dolphins but when is the last time that happened?
