I honestly dont know how anyone can defend Nix anymore but then again you have core group on here who will defend anything the Bills do. We had people who would vehemently defend Modrak, Ralph, Chan, Levy as GM and on and on. He hasn't improved this team one, I repeat not one game in the W-L record. Aren't we as fans entitled to expect some results after his 3 tenure? 1. He crapped the bed on the Merriman signing, blew what over 10 million on this bust who went on IR the first year during one of his first practices. Please spare me the "he tried", he way overpayed for a guy who was clearly done. 2. He way overpayed on extending Kelsay. Kelsay a guy who had a career high of 5.5 sacks in a season. Thats not a good player, that's journeyman. Kelsay a leader? exactly what did he ever lead this defense to? 3. Chan Gailey was as unispired coaching hire as Jauron was. 4. Hes used 50% of his 1st and 2nd round picks on RBs and CBs, that sound familiar these last 13 years? 5. His picks are into the podium before any team would have a chance to move up and offer picks. Listening to offers is part of your job as GM IMHO. 6. Enough people have mentioned the Williams and Troup picks especially when local boy Gronk was there and we needed a TE. For all the talk about its hard to get some players to come to Buffalo, you know who might want to play here? A guy like Gronk who was borned and raised here, you can throw in Williams from Tampa in that discussion who went in the middle rounds. It would of been nice to see a pick smile when we picked them instead of the disappointment Spiller and Gilmore displayed. 7. From the 4-3, to the 3-4 back to the 4-3 and now in year 4 we're going to be a hybrid. Building defenses that are not just bad, but historically bad, and historically bad by Buffalo Bills standards, that a high bar. 8. Overpayed for Anderson, we have over 10 million in dead money from Fitz's contract the next 2 years. Hmmm maybe that money could of been used to extend Levitre and Byrd. Byrd still isnt locked up to any deal, just franchised, what happens if he has another good year, doesn't the price go up and isnt there a limit on how many times you can franchise the same guy? 9. A previous poster mentioned Aaron Williams and a lot of people thought he wasnt a corner and better suited to safety. My question is this; SS and FS are not the same position and require different talents. If Williams isnt a SS, and is better suited to FS we wasted a 2nd on a guy who isnt a corner and will be backing up one of our stronger positions in Byrd. 10. One 7th rounder on a QB? Hell the Pats have Brady and used a 3rd on Mallett. 11. Timing our QB need for the weakest QB class in years---genius. Going into year 4 this team seems to be going backwards and doesnt seem to have a ton of cap room. We have a group of receivers who are probably from top to bottom among the worst in the league. Our QBs regardless of the draft, will be viewed as one of the weakest in the league. Our TEs are Chandler and a couple of guys most hardcore NFL fans in other cities couldnt even name. The LBs nothing special, the corners not exactly all-pros, if Anderson doesnt work we have no blindside DE. Buddy has been given more than a fair opportunity, there is no reason to keep him out of loyalty, this is a results driven league. Either you produce or go. The only baby Nix has shown us is a deformed mutant.

Somebody tell me this team isnt stupid enough to take the mediocre armed, injured, non-athletic Barkley at 8 to throw in the winds of Buffalo. My patience doesnt have a couple of more years to waste on Jimmy Clausen 2.0.

If anyone thinks this team even sniffs the playoffs next year then they dont know football. The won/loss record under Nix is reality, we havent improved one game under his tenure, not one. It's a fact that cant be disputed. Yet I still see people posting that Buddy has done a decent job and I wonder do these people have any standards? While this team is not the worst in franchise history, this new century Bills are without a doubt the worst stretch of Bills football ever. This team will be picking top 5 next year as we inch closer and closer to 20 years without a playoff appearance.

With no action on FAs and 6 draft picks Im sure Buddy will have no problem finding 2 QBs, 2-3 WRs, 2 LBs, some OL, some CBs, backup DE.yeah we got the rest of the NFL right where we want em......Now if you'll excuse me, Im going to start drinking heavily.

Dadgummit, this only the start of year 4 of Buddys 20 year rebuild strategy. On a positive note, we're definetly in the running for Clowney in 2014.

Haven't the Steelers had one of the best defenses over that past decade. How many first round corners have the Steelers drafted over that time? Yes they have used a 1 on Polamalu, a SS. How many first round corners have the Steelers even started recently? Maybe defense is about stopping the run and pressuring the QB, things the Steelers excel at and what Bills haven't done well during the millenium of misery. How about the dream team Eagles and the money they spent on corners, what did that get them?

A perfect example of our futility and lack of leadership is Kelsay. When has this guy ever led the D? The only expertise he has is our playoff drought. But somhow we extended him because he's a "leader". Give me the Bickering Bills, guys who gave a crap about not losing.

A trade down in Round 1, pick up extra 2nd 1 QB or WR 2 QB/WR/LB 2 QB/WR/LB 3 Another LB 4 TE 5 SS 6 CB

Well whether you are talking all-time or recent history, the Bills have set the bar very high when debating all time worst coaches.

Thats kind of my point, if Buddy is on his way out, why let him pick our QB of the future if he isnt part of the future. Marshawn has 59 carries in the post season for 311 yards, 5.27 ypc and 3 TDs. Since the trade Lynch has 3843 yards from scrimmage with 32TDs, CJ has 2973 for 15TDs. Kelsay has a base salary of 3.73 million next year not including any bonuses, I would say there is money to be saved by cutting him. What could the Bills do about Kelsay? How about not extending him in 2010 for 4 more years. In the first two seasons of this new contract, he has a total of 37 tackles and 7 sacks. Per season thats 18.5 total tackles and 3.5 sacks, or in other words thats Kyle Moore who this season had 24 total tackles and 3 sacks while making around the league minimum while Kelsay is averaging about 5 million a season. Buddy has signed some of our own, but not the 2 guys coming up who are IMHO as important as anyone on this team. One is a rock on the line, who has played every game and the other is one of our few play makers on defense, yet both are UFA's next year.

1. Say whatever you want pro/con about Buddy Nix but the fact remains this team has not improved 1 game in 3 years. 2. How is Buddy different from past front offices? Under NIx we have used 3 of the 6 first and second round picks on runningbacks and corners 3. How has this team managed to extend Kelsay and Fitz but has not managed to extend Byrd and Levitre? If the Bills let either of these guys get away, its just another sign this team doesn't know what it is doing. 4. Speaking of Kelsay, didnt people who defended that contract say he will never see the last couple of years of it. Well we are in the last 2 years in 13 and 14, so I pray you are right and he's finally cut this year. 5. Where would the the Seahawk's offense be without Buddy Nix? A probowl runningback for a 4th and a 6th, the Bills and inept Jags selecting Graham and a punter right ahead of Russell Wilson and throw in a 7th for a QB they would of cut anyways. 6. If Fitz, Thigpen and Jackson are the answer, then the question has to be quarterbacks you will never see in the playoffs in the future. I like the Marrone hiring. I like that we are getting younger, more foward thinking coaches. I just wish we turned the FO over to Whaley now. In 3 years Buddy has shown me enough evidence that he is not the man to select our QB of the future.
