A blindside pass rusher...we got next to nothing there right now A big athletic TE A gaurd Corner depth A blue chip WR

That Brady stat from last nights game was pretty amazing, what 70 or 74 chances(now 70 of 75) converting a 3rd or 4th and 1.

@Browns - Thursday Night Football
billsfan714 replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the game America has been waiting for. No seriously, Cameron is putting up Gronk-Jimmy Graham numbers, Gordon is good and Hoyer is showing promise much like EJ. The defense is good. Should be a close game, suprisingly one of these teams will be 3-2. -
Our Depth, or Lack of is a Real Issue
billsfan714 replied to BuffaloBillsMagic1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When you have injuries weve had in the secondary, with Gilmore, Byrd, Brooks and McKelvin out, I doubt many teams when they're going to 13-14 deep have a bunch of early draft choices to put in there. -
Can I have some improvement this millenium? Ive been very, very patient.

This board is totally bi-polar. You have the eternal optimists(kool-aid drinkers) and the beaten down pessimists(trolls). Personally I think they are both coping mechanisms for dealing with the last 13 years. When the Bills lose the optimists can say, hey there's going to growing pains its going to take time, you cant expect a whole lot. The pessimists will say I knew it, this team sucks. Stats can be twisted any way you want. For instance someone could say, RG3. Luck and Wilson went to the playoffs their rookie year or Big Ben went 14-1 his rookie year. I asked this on another thread and got crickets but I'll try again. If this is a rebuilding year with a new coaching staff(fine I'll accept that) but what is a realistic, fair expectation for Marrone and Co in year 2? Im talking won-loss record not some vague crap about seeing progress.

[closed]Why I'm Stubborn to Blame "Playcalling"
billsfan714 replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anyone supporting this team after a 13 year playoff drought and 10 losing seasons, is not bandwagon. They're sadistic glutons for punishment. To people who say we cant expect much this year, I ask what can we reasonably expect, as in a won-loss record next year? -
DraftTek Positional Needs --- Any Changes Needed?
billsfan714 replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Count me in the crowd that doesnt have CB in the top 3 needs. We have 2 starters signed for several years. Brooks is hurt and will be back. I agree with the poster above if there is a great receiver Im taking him and I move Stevie to the slot. A blindside DE who can sack the QB has been missing from this defense for a long time. Our TE corp as a whole is very weak. Guard obvious need. -
Does anyone have the # of yards allowed by Rogers
billsfan714 replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I seem to remember on one of them, Kyle Williams was coming free and Geno stood made the throw and took a decent shot from KW. Seems like Pettine forget some of Rex's teachings, when you have guys who cant cover make sure you dont have to cover for very long. -
Hackett has turned 6.0 ypc Spiller into less than 1 yard per touch today. Thats some pretty poor game planning.

Hacketts scheme is a major issue!
billsfan714 replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You read Hacketts resume and its pretty underwhelming. Prior NFL offense coaching exerrience, offensive quaility control coach of the 2006-7 Bucs and 2008-9 Bills, that isnt even coordinator or a position coach. I think he's finding out it was a lot easier game planning for defenses like WVU's swiss cheese or the likes of UConn, and Pitt. 2003 2003 2004 2005 2006-2007 2008-2009 2010 2011-2012 2013-present University of California, Davis (Assistant Linebackers Coach) Stanford University (Offensive Assistant) Stanford University (Coordinator's Assistant) Stanford University (Recruiting Coordinator) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Offensive Quality Control) Buffalo Bills (Offensive Quality Control) Syracuse University (Quarterbacks/Tight Ends) Syracuse University (Offensive Coordinator) Buffalo Bills (Offensive Coordinator) -
The sooner we get TJ Graham off the field the better. I saw him split out wide, he not physical or big enough to make catches in tight coverage, Doesnt have the hands or toughness for the slot receiver. I said it last week, move SJ to the slot inside guy and start any of the other receivers with Wood in the 3 wideout. I hear this crap "but he was open on such and such play and got overthrown.....fine bring him in to run 3-4 go routes a game but he has no business being on the field for a majority of the snaps as a receiver in the NFL.

When you make Stephen HIll and Bilal Powell look like all-pros you know you're pretty bad.

This is all part of our 15 year plan.

There isnt going to be any playoffs, thats for sure.

Hackett isnt ready for prime time. Our biggest play was from a missed tackle on the FJ run. -
And yet he hasnt been suspended and just keeps making probowls.

how good is this D with Byrd and Gilmore?
billsfan714 replied to billsfans126's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In regards to Byrd and his agent Parker, I wonder how it effects their leverage in negotiations not only with the Bills but other teams as well. that the Bills D is going to rank higher this year without him and his replacement has a big play for a TD while costing about 6.5 million less. -
I was thinking the same thing. Isn't conventional wisdom that you surround a young QB with weapons. Realistically I think we're a year away from a wild card berth. Now maybe I'm crazy but looking at offenses like the Bronco's, Packers, Falcons, etc I was imagining this offense with 1st and 2nd round draft choices in '14 of a big, fast receiver, and a athletic TE. Move Stevie to the slot, the short area quickness possesion guy. With this running game, that would give opposing defenses a lot to think about. It would also be a young offensive corp to develop together. Use the middle rounds to shore up the interior line and the later rounds for corner depth. Yeah I can see light at the end of tunnel.
