Those guys were also rare talents that didn't need speed. Most NFL players need a faster speed than that to succeed.
-
Not anymore. Walked off field slowly with trainer.

Dotson gets cut, we sign a D-Line guy. Douglas gets cut, we sign a RB. No safety yet? Must be on the way. I don't see much in this guy Zach Brown though. He runs a 4.77 40. That's kind of slow. I wonder what they see in him because it's probably not speed.

Same here. So many reporters ask the coaches so many different questions. A lot of the times it's the same generic questions, that results in the same answers we already know. But some of them crack something new. It just takes watching lots of videos and reading lots of articles to find these new gems.

Good vid. It's nice to hear Wanny say Gilmore is better than what they thought. I wouldn't be surprised if Gilmore becomes the next shut down corner in the league. How fresh.

Kelvin is our Sheppard…
DukeyBomb replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. Conspiracy theory that he ISN'T actually injured and instead he is actually secretly going to O.J Murdocks funeral. -
This just tweeted by Howard Simon from Gailey: Not something we really don't already know. Does this imply anything FanInChicago? Can you read in to this for me? jk

Ok. Maybe I should speak clearer next time for you. I'm not saying Potter is going to win the job and I didn't mean to IMPLY it was time to. I am hoping he does continue to out perform Lindell in hopes Potter can be our new kicker because he already has a spot on the roster for being a kickoff specialist. Better? And I was specifically asking YOU to mind your business if YOU don't like it
-
Yeah? You must not have caught on to the first sentence in the post. I said IF he outperforms Lindell, then it would make sense to save a roster spot and let go of Lindell. I feel like I'm speaking to a child and have to explain everything specifically. If they were even in terms of how they have been performing through out training camp they should give it to Potter then and just release Lindell if not just for the many other beneficial reasons besides saving a roster spot. And I don't really care about your opinion on my posts, or anybody else that has animosity towards some things I would like to bring up to people. Some people you can never satisfy their superiority complex. If anybody needs to be the "whipping boys" its the people on here that knock other people down for speaking their opinions. It's not like the things I've posted about are ridiculous and make no sense. So I guess I suggest back to you to mind your business when it comes to my posting. Thanks big guy.

There are very few players on the team that don't have a job that's in jeopardy. I don't think Lindell is a lock. And if this is any taste of what Potter and Lindell have to offer, Potter should get the job. That's what I am implying. I didn't say Potter should win the starting spot right now did I?
-
And I think we can give you the benefit of the doubt that you are just too naive to believe Lindell COULDN'T be cut.
-
Thanks for the information on Potter. Keep us updated with how well those guys are doing. I don't think Lindell's spot on this roster is as cut and dry like most think. Just my opinion. But one thing for sure is Potter makes the roster for kick offs - eBALL - HE won't be on stashed on the PS. At least I believe those are the sentiments Nix gave off. Tell us. Who was the more accurate kicker in Training Camp Practice #5 too Mikey??
-
That's not fair on so many levels. First we all know we don't know enough about Potter's accuracy. But if the field goal was past 50 yards I can already say Potter with out question and that's sad on Lindell's part.
-
I mean to say, "Should we discount a guy like Isiah Green because he hasn't played one down in a real game yet?" The point I am trying to make is that players make the roster all the time in different manners. You still give the job to the best guy period. Donald Jones and David Nelson both made the rosters in huge ways for our offense. If Lindell is being out performed by Potter the whole camp I don't think it's out of the question for the Bills to get rid of Lindell. It's not worth cutting another talented player that could help more so if Potter can do everything Lindell can do. They aren't obviously smarta$$. If Potter is hitting field goals at a easier place and Lindell is missing them. Who's the better kicker?
-
He hasn't? I'm asking "IF he completely out performs him in camp, which he has so far..." Should I have added "So far" for you to understand what I was saying? Or do you want to read some more in to it first? I disagree. I believe a Kicker is probably one of the easier battles you can decipher between who is better or not. Lots of guys are going to lose their jobs during these pre-season games and camp. So should we keep Isiah Green on the roster because he hasn't played in a real NFL game yet? I don't know what you are talking about please inform me...? You need a leg.. maybe a shoe and some socks? What else? Some accuracy maybe? Yeah that's one for sure. I don't care. If the guy is nailing his kicks that is all that matters. If he nails his kicks in camp, pre-season I don't care. He's making the same kicks Lindell isn't. That's what matters.
-
The winds aren't windy every game at the Ralph. And again, I know it's early in camp but it's not like Lindell is kicking field goals at the Ralph right now and Potter at SJFC. The competition is even right now. They both have the same conditions and it's on an even playing field. So if Potter out performs Lindell on an even playing field, you should take the most accurate of the two. Lindell is not that good. To those talking about his contract extension. It was a smart move. You don't want to not have any insurance if your 7th round kicker doesn't pan out. What the hell does this mean? The only thing it means is the guy we brought in after Lindell was worse. Doesn't mean Potter isn't better and doesn't deserve Lindell's spot
-
You can call Lindell many things, but clutch is far from them when the pressure is on. He is consistently average. I agree with this. I can't even count the number of times I have been upset because the team decided to punt instead of trying a 50-56 yard field goal. When you have a kicker that can't make those kicks though, it makes sense.
-
Exactly. I was at the KC game when he missed the OT kick as well.
-
If John Potter completely out performs Rian Lindell, which he has to this point, how does Chan Gailey NOT start him over Rian Lindell? Camp is to figure out which players are best suited to make the team, so shouldn't the better performer be rewarded with a starting nod? I know it's early in camp but Potter hasn't missed a single field goal. He's already going to have a roster spot just for his leg on kick offs. So why not give Lindell's roster spot to a guy like Carrington, Troup, D. Edwards, Aiken, Hagan or anybody else that deserves it. Seems smart to me. " Both Rian Lindell and John Potter tried field goals from 45 yards, 49 yards, 55 yards and 59 yards. Potter nailed them all and his 59-yard field goal sailed right thru the middle. Lindell hit the upright on the 55-yard field goal and appeared to be a bit short on the the 59-yard field goal." I personally am hoping Potter takes Lindell's roster spot. The better player should always win in situations like this. No matter the tenure of the incumbent.

Rex says Tebow throws better than Brad Smith
DukeyBomb replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm one of the few that does not like Brad Smith at all. -
+1 Exactly How many Patrick Willis threads did we have up after the Marshawn Lynch pick? lol. Nobody should be arguing the merit of this thread on an open forum unless you are just on to cry. It's something to discuss. If it hurts your feelings don't say anything. Seriously it's that simple lol.

Football Outsiders also has the 49ers to go 7-9 this season. I doubt that with the easy schedule they have. I see 10-6 to 12-4.
-
Ok. Don't care, GTFO. It's not you guys who I'm trying to appease then. The point of this is... They are both good players in camp. That's the point. I was just saying... Some folks don't mind hearing this.
