  1. Wow, I hope this is meant as satire...
  2. I have major concerns about Schwartz as HC. His team in Detroit was undisciplined and our defense here this year, while very good, was also guilty of too many stupid penalties.
  3. They can be some of the nicest people, but damn can they be miserable b*stards! My family included!
  4. Frank is a great football coach and an even better human being who reminds me of a white version of Tony Dungy. I think he would be great for our team. My only concern would be in keeping Schwartz as a DC if he's passed over and how that chemistry would work. I love Schwartz as a DC but not as HC.
  5. I'm from Buffalo, visit the area every year and love the team. That stated, the posters here are a microcosm of the people of the city and some of you are the most bitter folks I've ever seen (or read). It is not just this board, but an overall attitude of misery for many. Petty jealousy about how much money a player makes compared to what 'they' make. As much as I loathe Jerry Sullivan, he is representative of so many people back there. From my anecdotal viewpoint, I attribute it to a miserable economy, poor weather and a decade and a half of losing football in a community where it matters so much to their identity. I write this as an understanding of why it is so difficult to succeed and why I feel some people (like Marrone) may have a bad taste. Contrast that with where I live, in San Diego, and while people love the Chargers, they aren't jumping off any bridges when they didn't make the playoffs, because, well, they live in San Diego!
  6. I think those who are upset feel that way because the draft is all the Bills have had to look forward to for the past 14 years. I love the direction that Whaley is taking the team. All I can say is that it's about time. I think this one is going to turn out good for us.
  7. I am a Bills fan because of my father as well. I'm 46 and have a vivid memory of attending a game at War Memorial Stadium with my dad, which would make me 5 at the time (since the Ralph opened in 1973). Some of my best memories with my father were of attending games and watching games with him. I'll also never forget the night game when we finally broke the Miami jinx. My dad allowed me to storm the field with the rest of the fans and tear the goal posts down. My brother and I still have a piece of the turf and FG netting from that game. There are so many times in my life that I wished I could get this team out of my system and begin to root for another team, but I just can't do it. As an ex-pat living in San Diego I just can not pull for any other team than the Bills. I also have a great memory of just before I joined the Marine Corps in 1985 when Bruce Smith was a rookie. I was working at McDonalds on Mckinley Pkwy and Bruce would regularly come through the drive in window in his new corvette. That was a miserable year, but I told him that breakfast would be on me if they won a game. Sadly I left for bootcamp before they won, LOL and never had to pay for his food. Days like these last few really sadden me. I'll always love this team though they have probably taken a few years off of my life.
  8. It was 81 degrees here yesterday, so you got that right!
  9. He's facing 10-20 years if convicted. Are you kidding me? This guy should NEVER walk free again. I don't care about rehabilitating him. We can only pray for jailhouse justice for this guy. What a sub-human POS.
  10. Yup. The case should've never gone to trial.
  11. Understand, and thanks.
  12. Please believe me that I am no GZ supporter and he is not 'my guy'. I am most concerned with trying to have a rational discussion with those who will likely react badly should GZ be acquitted, which I think is likely. Maybe that is too much to ask. I am putting my faith in the justice system and those on the jury and am hopeful that others respect their decision.
  13. I think you're exactly right. The race hustlers Jackson and Sharpton will not let this go if and when GZ is acquitted. They will gladly use this case to foment rioting and their ridiculous chant of "No justice, no peace"...watch and see. I have an old Marine friend living in Florida who I still communicate with on FB and who happens to be black. He believes that GZ is guilty and recently posted such. Ironically, he himself was acquitted of murder for killing another Marine (in self defense) over in Okinawa during the 90's. He used to work for me and I was a key character witness at his court martial. I include this information because it amazes me how many of his other 'FB friends' all downright hostile toward GZ. I posted a response that "The truth will set him free" and you'd have sworn I kicked a hornet's nest! I tactfully explained my position based on the evidence that is publicly available, and asked the responders who disagree (attacked) with me if they will respect the juries opinion and foster a sense of calm in their community should the decision go in favor of GZ. So far I've had a few responses calling GZ names, etc, but not one of the five or so friends of my friend will respond that they will respect the juries decision short of a murder conviction. I expect we will see quite a bit of rioting in Florida if GZ is acquitted based on my observation, and I'm 100% certain the Weird Al will be leading the charge!.
