  1. Take a glance at this short article on the Bills draft in 2007, when Lynch was taken. http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Football/NFL/2010/10/05/15593686.html
  2. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/article209103.ece This article basically says it all. The team just has no talent. It's not the scheme, or coaching.
  3. You have to decide by years end who can and can't play. You have to know already that Fitz is not a starting QB in this league. Where is the team going? You have to audition Brohm now. Levi should have been kept, and tested. By draft day you must know if you are going to shoot for a QB. If so, then lock onto whomever you think is the best and go get him.
  4. Michelle...she is so good looking! #2) Michelle Tafoya M.N.F that is, don't know the other Michelle
  5. There is no upside to keeping Fitz. We know what his limitations are. He is not a starting QB in this league. Since the team will be lucky to win 6 games, perhaps as high as 8, where are we going? Mind as well see what BB, and/or Levi can do, if TE goes down. By January 1, 2011 you want to know whether you need a new franchise QB. SO if TE goes down or fails, I would not hesitate to put BB and/or Levi in.

  7. Oh, stop complaining. According to half the readers and posters here, we have a great owner who has nothing but the best interests of the Buffalo fans at heart. After all, they say, he hasn't left Buffalo for greener pastures. Therefore, he is the best thing since "sliced white bread". Look at all those awful owners who move franchises, they say. You know those like Al Davis, and Art Modell, both Super Bowl winners. I'm afraid the level of intellectual capacity of most Buffalo fans, at least those who post on this board, is limited to "well, we have a team here, it sucks, but who cares since we have a team, and Mr. Wilson must be a great owner since he hasn't left Buffalo. Hey geniuses, did it ever occur to you that Mr. Wilson makes millions keeping the team here? Are there better or more loyal fans, than Bills fans (perhaps Chicago Cubs fans)? Where else would he find 70,000 per game to support the junk he puts on the field? Take a long look at Jacksonville. What are their attendance figures like? Furthermore, every competent coach, GM, personnel guy, or scout with ability has left this team, most likely due to money or owner interference. Good luck dreaming about bringing in competent veteran, OL players.
  8. What a mess! The worst team;look at our qb situation...a joke. We have arguably one of the worst owners in the history of sports. The man just milks every dollar out of this team. The people of WNY deserve better.
  9. Edwards has not improved, and is a kiss-a***. Our line, although limited, is not that bad. A decent QB could make a huge difference. Fitzpatrick is a backup, period. You need a starter. Jeff Garcia is out there, and would be a significant upgrade over Trent. Give Levi every opportunity to show what he has. He did look good, and he threw the ball down the field. The sooner Trent is gone the better.
  10. Excellent report, thank you. Sounds like a lot of live blocking and tackling is going on. I visited an NFC camp yesterday, and there was no tackling or hitting, despite the fact that pass and special team plays were being run.
  11. How can you fire Modrak now? You have the draft in April. Most of his work should have been done by now isolating the best prospects. You have the combine in a few weeks, the senior bowl etc. If a change is to be made it will have to be done after the draft. You can't hire a guy to take over as chief scout at the 11th hour. Let's see what happens after the draft.
  12. Sunday ticket gone for now; might renew after I give this new regime a chance
  13. You make some great points. The offensive line is the most important sub-unit in football. Just look at the present NY Jets, and recall our electric company in the OJ years. Then look at our present disaster. Remember D'Brickashaw Fergunson? he is starting at guard for the Jets. we didn't need him when we drafted. How about Michael Oher who starred at right tackle for the Ravens this year (rookie pick). We didn't need him either. We needed Maybin, and his 10-12 tackles. When Lou Saban came here for his second go around, his first task was fixing the offensive line. That's where you need to go this year. On the defensive side, yes Kyle Williams looks good at times. But he is undersized and for every good, pressure play he makes, he gets taken out by a guard or a tackle on a running play. Our defensive line can't stop the run. Undersized lineman don't cut it. You need big, strong etc. Ever hear of Pat Williams? (oh yeah, he went to the Vikings we didn't need him). How about Ted Washington? Remember when we had Ted? You could not move the guy...too big and strong. That's what you need. Undersized lineman with 230 lb. chiseled bodies don't cut it in this league. Kelsay, Denney, Williams...trade em and get some picks. Marshawn Lynch...trade get what you can Oh yeah, I hope Chan Gailey knows that there is a position called tight end.....maybe we could get one of them that can block , and run routes!!!!!
  14. It should be obvious to all that the "league", and especially potential coaches who view themselves as having great potential, are staying clear of Buffalo. The league knows that the team mess in Buffalo is especially deep, and with Ralph at the helm there is little chance of resurrecting it. Wilson caused this mess being cheap, not wanting to pay scale to players, coaches, and front office personnel. Those of us who have been fans since the team's inception understand how Wilson works. We have had two brief periods of success out of 50 years of front office/coaching futility. Now the mess is so bad, and entrenched, anyone with ability wants to stay away. Look at the successful people he let get away: Polian, Butler, AJ Smith, Bobby April, Pat Williams, Jaberi Greer, Antoine Winfield. The list goes on and on. I know that at least one general manager candidate with excellent credentials was ignored by Ralph. Indeed, he was mentioned in several articles in the Buffalo newspapers as having potential, and should have been looked at by Ralph. Ralph blew the opportunity. When you see candidates turning down Buffalo you can be certain that Wilson's Bills are viewed as a joke throughout the league. For those of us who had the privilege of watching Cookie Gilchrist, Jack Kemp, and Mike Stratton's "hit heard around the world", this is a catastrophe, and worse than the abyss of the "Harvey Johnson years".
  15. what?????? (90 percent of the above picks were a waste).......Marshawn Lynch? A first round pick beaten out by a guy from the practice squad, and you give that pick a B? What are you smoking? We have the worst line(s), and undersized linebackers, many were picked by Marv....... he had terrible drafts, just like the coach he selected.
  16. Either you have a good football guy running things or you don't. Marv was a disaster as a GM, and, at best a mediocre coach. With the talent he had he should have won at least one championship. Do you think for a moment we would be in the shoes we are in if we had Jimmy Johnson running things? Polian? Get a guy from Texas that grew up thinking that football is the only thing in life. They eat, drink, and sleep football. They can spot talent from a mile away, and they know how to win. And, by the way, they aren't educated at Yale, or Harvard, and they aren't known for their gentleman like personalities. They are sons of b*****s, and do it with a kick in the ass, or out the door. If you don't prefer Texas, you can look at the pictures of a Lombardi, or a Saban for a reasonable alternative ! I can just see Jimmy Johnson drafting Roscoe Parrish in the second round, with the horrible offensive line that we had!
  17. The only thing that Wilson will understand is money or humiliation. Start a boycott for the next game, show solidarity, and he will get the message. The fans must use whatever power they have.
  18. What a dumb_ss ! He has no business being a head coach. Watch the menagerie of coordinators that will come and go...its the same thing that happened in Chicago. He dosen't have a clue on what to do. He's a buffoon. This is all Wilson's fault. For Wilson, in coaching, the cheaper the salary the better.
  19. He was laughed out of Chicago. Sports talk radio guys would listen to his goofy press conference comments and just laugh. He also looks like he has malnutrition, and with his scratching....who knows! This could only happen to a Buffalo team.
  20. Dick Jauron was laughed out of Chicago several years ago ( I live here). He was seen as as an "idiot'. His choices for offensive coordinator were a joke. It was clear that the man had no clue. As soon as the new GM arrived here. he dumped Jauron. Marv liked him (Marv did radio commentary here), because he was a "gentleman", and had one good year. Ralph Wilson is one of the worst owners in the league. He cares only about the bottom line...his pocketbook. Every classy coach or assistant with ability leaves because Ralph won't pay competitive salaries. This football team over 50 years is a mess. We had about 8 good years out of 50 when we had top football men running the organization. Look at the mess of the 70's when Harvey Johnson ran things.....We are now so firmly entrenched in terrible mis-management that it will take another savior to free us, like a Bill Polian. This is all Wilson's fault. Russ Brandon, Dick Jauron, and Tom Modrak, are not in the same league, as Polian, the guys from Chicago, Pittsburgh, Boston, and now, Miami. Marv Levy ? He had the best talent in the league for many years and could not win. His choices as GM? Another joke. I don't know of one solid move he made that I could not have made. Even his choice of Marshawn Lynch was poor. He should have traded up for the real running back in Minnosota. Donte Whitner a first round pick? I don't think so. It goes on and on.
  21. The troubles start at the top. We have one of the worst owners in sports. I've watched the Bills since 1964. You can name our successful General Managers on two fingers;(1) Bill Polian; (2) Whomever led the team in the mid 60's. That's it. One forgets, or is too young to know, or remember the futility of this team from the late 1960's to the early 1980's. You want to see bad? Check the drafts and the won-loss record during all of the 70's. In those days Wilson had Harvey Johnson running the team. A joke. Modrak has been running the draft since Donahue came in. Look at his abysmal record; i.e. Mike Williams, JP Losman,. How do you take Marshawn Lynch over Adrian Peterson? Lynch is good, but Peterson is spectacular. If you are going to draft a running back, you better move up and draft the right guy. (perhaps they tried, I don't know). The same thing happened with Patrick Willis (San Francisco grabbed him just before we picked) and Paul Polsluzny. Dick Jauron was laughed out of Chicago. In short, he had no answers as to why his teams failed. He had one good year and the rest were poor. I listened to 3 years of talk radio criticism of him. His schooling, and "gentleman personality" had no bearing on his poor coaching. He went through offensive coordinators like a "lady of the night goes through motel doors". It was non-stop. Each time a coordinator was replaced with someone as poorly qualified as his predecessor. When they discuss how nice a guy is, instead of how he wins, you have a problem on your hands. I'm interested in winning, not making friends on the field. Give me the guy with the funny hair-sprayed hair, or the fat guy running the team in Miami. They are winners, not "nice-guys". By the way, Lou Saban, our only coach to actually win a championship (in fact 2x), was not a nice guy. Finally, don't forget that our chief line coach retired this year, and his assistant was named his replacement.
