  1. Both first round picks, both unworthy of being picked at that level. McKelvin is flat out awful (not sure who drafted him), and Gilmore is way overrated. Gilmore had his hands on the ball on that TD pass, and needed to rip it away. He is another of Buddy Nix's long list of draft day failures; EJ is at the top of my list. No way is that guy a first round pick.
  2. Polian knows talent, and I believe he understands the composition and progression of building a contender. Yes, his team in Indy failed after Peyton went down, but take a closer look. He drafted Jeffrey Hughes in the first round. He was thought to be a bust by the Indy faithful. I somehow think we don't think of him as a bust. He has been one of our best players. Polian did not like the Sammy trade. He believed the team was not on the cusp of a championship worthy of dealing a first round pick for the WO. The man has built a winner everywhere he has been. He single handedly make us a contender in a short time. Then he goes to Carolina and gets them to the NFC championship in what 2 years? He picks Peyton over Ryan Leaf at Indy. At that time many touted Leaf as the better pick. I have spent a good deal of time listening to Polian on ESPN, and Sirius radio. If you listen to him you can hear how bright he is. Yes, he is 70 + years old, but so is Gil Brandt (likely about 80). Ernie Accorsi is no baby either; he is 72. These guys know football. Polian loves Buffalo, and the Bills. He would likely give his left arm to resurrect this disaster of a franchise. Since Polian left we have been in the toliet, and subsequent GM's and coaches have done nothing but add to the pile in the bowl. Bring in Polian, dump the amateurs in Marrone and company, and get a QB.
  3. Your team can't run Spiller up the gut...it dosen't work. Fix the darn OL that you ruined, and while your at it show Hackett the door. In addition, I suggest you start thinking about where you should be posting your resume.
  4. We had a great OL under Chan and Joe D, that Marrone has ruined. I can't understand for the life of me why teams like the Patriots get 100 yard plus receiving from guys like Edelman and Welker (before he left) basically running delays over the middle, and we can't do that with Sammy or Goodwin ???? We need Chan as Off coordinator. I remember very clearly how he got Spiller going, and I remember that it took him awhile to coach him up. These guys don't really have a clue. They are in way over their heads.
  5. Yes, indeed, I was in the stands for our first championship against the Chargers at the "Old Rockpile". Were you there?
  6. Having the Bills in Buffalo increases the value of the Sabres. Furthermore, I can see them building a beautiful stadium downtown adjacent to First Niagara Center that will further appreciate their property. They don't become billionaires being dumb!
  7. I hope they introduce Terry and Kim Pegula, and the crowd gives them a standing ovation. They have rescued The Bills, and deserve a rousing welcome !
  8. No three, can't you count ? Why not have a relevant response, other than one that looks like you just walked out of a tavern on Genesee street ?
  9. A great line, great offensive line coaching, and great success running the ball under Chan is ruined by Marrone and company . I'm sure glad our head coach is a former ol coach, and coordinator....not!
  10. And while you are at it, just copy the Broncos/Pats playbook and call their plays in any order they have used, because you don't have a clue!
  11. Hey you are an OL coach, and your line sucks. Fix it or move on !
  12. When he gets a chance he rarely disappoints.....flash to Hackett: use him !
  13. Oh my, it finally happened after the diastrous Bills game..... http://www.buffalonews.com/city-region/man-from-massachusetts-rescued-in-niagara-gorge-in-ontario-20140929
  14. Whaley made a huge mistake in the Sammy trade. It will criple the team. I agree that he has made many great moves, but the Sammy trade, and reliance on EJ are huge franchise wide mistakes. He also was asleep at the wheel with the backup QB situation. I would not fire Whaley. I would bring in a proven winner as a final say, like Polian or Brandt. Furthermore, it was obvious that Whaley was reaching in the trade to do everything he could to salvage EJ. He made a "second" mistake to cover his earlier "mistake". Whaley clearly has an eye for talent, but he is young, unproven, and could use an experienced winner as a second pair of eyes. Indeed, I think Polian and Whaley could be a superb combination. After that, you need an experienced NFL coach with a winning track record. That ain't Marrone or Hackett Jr.
  15. I can't think of one player that has progressed under our coaches. It's obvious that the offense is a mess. EJ, Sammy, and Woods going backwards. A fool could see that our coaches and front office are over their heads. Our OL is awful, and went from being stellar under Chan and Joe D to a sieve. Yesterday, CJ, and Freddie run for only, (around) 100 yards against a vulnerable run defense. Listening to Marrone in his post- game comments is a waste of time. We need Mr. Pegula to bring in a proven winner as overseer of this team. I am all in favor of Bill Polian, or someone with the stature, experience, and winning history of a Gil Brandt. Remember, Polian, was on record saying the Sammy trade was a mistake, because the team was too far away from being a finished product. So far, it looks like he was correct. You need a guy like Polian or Brandt being in charge. For those of you who say they are too old or you are living in the past, Polian has won everywhere he has been. He has built 3 different competitive teams! Terry go get'em.
  16. how do we start a poll
  17. Lest the season go down the drain.
  18. Where is Chan when we could use him. Our offense percolated when he ran it!
  19. Furthermore, Whaley blew the backup QB situation. A second, seasoned opinion may have been what was needed.
  20. I would bring him in as VP in charge of all on-field football operations. The Pegulas will need an independent football guy to guide them. Who better than Polian? I would continue to let Whaley be GM, with overall final decision making in Polian. Whaley has shown enough to be given some latitude, but I would love to see Polian have input. Don't forget Polian drafted Jerry Hughes number 1. He certainly looked like a number 1 last year. With Polian you have a time tested and brilliant mind in your draft room. Go get him!
  21. Other than Polian, for the few years that we had him, and the GM (I think his name was Gallagher) in the early 60s, we have suffered with terrible front offices. Our drafting has been horrible, and we were on the wrong end of some very bad trades. For those old timers reading this, remember when we were "cutting edge" in the early 60s? We signed the first soccer style kicker, Pete Gogolak, and raided the CFL for Cookie. It wasn't too long thereafter that our demise was to start with the departure of Lou Saban, and the Lamonica trade. Al Davis is likely still laughing in his grave about Lamonica.
  22. Some of us actually enjoy these things. Why don't you take your wise a** comments elsewhere
  23. A radio caller asked Gil Brandt about Kyle Orton, and the possibility of him starting over EJ Manuel. Brandt spent about 5 minutes discussing Orton, stating that he is a good ballplayer, and that it was a good move. He mentioned several positive things about Orton. He did not say one word about EJ. He also believes that the Bills have a good team, especially the defense, and he likes the receiver, Hogan.
  24. I strongly suggest you re-read the first article you cited. There, it mentions the fact that EJ is considered a project.
