    New update-with the info the bug sent me I was able to easily get 2GB open on C[i had no idea there were hidden files]. Now I can dump those partitions. Thanks all

    Done all that. I suspect there are things on C I am not seeing. When I open it the total is nowhere near 20 GB.

    Close to the truth. I couldn't download the Partition program Dean suggested because surprise! no where to put it. I may have to order the disk it's self.

    This forum has a good cross section of people [although mostly of upstate NY roots] What do you do in your free time? Ski, fish, Golf, throw the javelin? I ask because I love riding my 4 wheeler, going nowhere and burning up carbon credits.

    Learned in the 80's I think. As she explained it to me if not for the partitions the computer would have search for the operating program and be slow. Anyway I would have just replaced the hard drive long ago but she put some expensive programs[at no cost to me] on it like power point that I don't want to lose.

    That turns out to be the case. In Disk management I found two drives labeled unallocated that bought the total to 182 GB.

    I got as far as disk management which did show the drives. When I right clicked on D it never said anything about partitions but did have format. Is this what I am looking for?

    Wouldn't work. Most planes have a glide ratio of 10-1. In other words, kill the engine at 5000 ft. and you can glide 50000 horizontal ft.
