  1. And what advances do you think this will provide on a practical level?
  2. Doe's S King ever write his own stuff? He copied that note near word for word in black house for "his" killer.
  3. No need to put a space ship in earths atmosphere to study humans. Simply monitor our TV and radio from a near by but undetectable [to us] location. Or use spies if they can mask themselves as human. Not so sure that human technology will advance at the rate you expect in the next centuries. Human progress has been historically slow prior to the past 150 years. George Washington got from point a to point b same as Cesar did-on a horse. It was the understanding and harnessing of electricity that caused the dizzying advancements we have grown accustomed to. As the years go by we may further refine it's use, as we do now, but will there be civilization changing advances that happen overnight like the electric motor or lights? Maybe, Maybe not. Is there a force in nature that will cause a huge advance when harnessed as electricity did? Possibly Quantum physics will fill that role, but that's unknown.
  4. I can very easily understand why they would hide from us. The fact that we know about them will disturb our natural behavior, should they wish to study it. Let's use fish instead of frogs since I am more familiar with them and have on occasion studied their undisturbed behavior. If I walk heavily on the bank of the creek, cast my shadow on the water or talk I would think fish do nothing but hide in the shadows. Their natural behavior is lost to me. However if I creep up quietly so they are unaware of my presence now I can see how they truly behave. The feeding habits, the spawning rituals and so on. Not saying that's what aliens are doing to use but it is possible and logical for them to do so.
  5. I see no problem with advanced aliens choosing not to interact with people on earth. Say you're exploring space and find a life form so far down the evolutionary tree from you that they look at us as you would a frog in a pond. Would you try to communicate with that frog or let it know you're around? No. You might study it for a moment and then move on to the next discovery-hopefully one more interesting.
  6. Why would our WR idolize him? Are they also sadistic hoodlums?
  7. Anchorage officially got 14" snow all winter but I doubt I got more than 5. Warmest winter in Alaska history. most days 25 or 30. above. I have about 2" on the ground right now. Iditarod start moved North to Fairbanks due to lack of snow in the Alaska range. Say ice while you're here I was listening to one of the local AM talk show guys and he had a caller from Wisconsin on. Why I don't know I missed the beginning. Anyway the caller was talking about catching sturgeon though the ice on lake Winnebago. Is it true there are sturgeon there? Did you ever catch one? I would love to catch one of those prehistoric monsters.
  8. If the sun had blown up 5 minutes ago we still would not know about it.
  9. Their called logs when they get to the truck, not trees. Remote living is a lot easier these days with sat communications. When I first came to Alaska the only way to communicate if you where outside the city was a handheld aviation band radio set to 121.5[emergency] and hoping a plane was over head.
  10. What if the caller called him a skinny brown guy? Is that OK? Or do we need to have exact racial makeup to call 911?
  11. You can get satellite internet/phone anywhere in north America as long as you're not in a deep valley.
  12. Ortons to blame for the lousy run game?
  13. And how would you describe a skinny black guy?
  14. They still race down at Ohio street? At 3am when street racing is a little more appropriate?
  15. The same CDC that places a 17 year old shooting another 17 year old under children killed by guns?
  16. Be warned a guided moose hunt in AK is around $15000. Best DIY method is a fly in drop off hunt. You can get to very good hunting grounds for about $800 both ways. Hire a plane on wheels, not floats. Float planes need lakes and lakes attract hunters. If you do a self guided hunt ck regs first, some game units are closed to non residents. See if you can find the video love thunder and bulls. It's a very good guide to moose calling. http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=regulations.main
  17. I predict a Bills KO comeback.
  18. Losing control of your car during a drag race on a busy major road at 3 in the afternoon is not nothing.
  19. I tell you this is the best fracking line in the NFL!
  20. This always gets the anti hunters riled up- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwD0ZkJYfC0
