  1. Hate to see injuries.  They can happen to anybody at anytime.

That said, if I'm the Cardinals owner, I might consider doing my very best to blow the whole thing up and start from scratch.  Fire coach and GM, see about trading Murray (even if it means including picks/players based on his cap hit).  Honestly, the Murray deal was stupid to begin with.  It's almost as if fate intervened, giving ownership a difficult and uncomfortable way out of this mess.  The short term pain of blowing everything up would be considerable, but keeping Murray, Kingsburry etc. is a losing scenario over the long term.  Better to recognize the error now, deal with it at the expense of 2 bad seasons and emerge down as a potentially stronger team.

There is zero evidence to support this. You can’t predict wind.

the Buffalo weather home filed advantage is a long myth.

it came out In the 90s when the Bills had one of the best teams In The league and Marvs clever slogan.

it went away when the team was bad, it was proved to be non existent and actually caused the Bills to lose a game they had no business losing (Pats)

players and the league have changed. Most players want comfort and zero weather impact.

A long time ago I read an article that looked into this and the finding was that over time, our kickers enjoy a higher FG % than the visiting kickers.  I also remember that the difference was more pronounced later in the year when weather is typically worse.  Wish I could find the article.

Would you really want them to maximize wind swirl and turn every game into a mess where no one can pass the ball? I know Allen has a canon but he can't throw through everything.

I'm pretty sure they designed the stadium to minimize the wind, which is the way to go.

Maximizing crowd noise should definitely be a priority.

Not necessarily maximize the wind, but wind certainly is an advantage for us over the years- especially from a kicking standpoint.  Over time, our kickers / punters get used to the all the intricacies and nuance of kicking in our stadium w/ unique wind pattern, but visiting kickers aren't.

  4. No red endzones, fail!

In all seriousness, I like it.  I wish the capacity was a bit larger (more screaming fans = louder game day experience).  The bills usually sell out so the decision to reduce capacity is a bit curious.

I wonder if the architects and engineers will build in some sort of "advantage" to maximize crowd noise like in Seattle, or orient the stadium relative to the lake to maximize wind swirl, etc.

Finally, I hope they figure out a way to honor Ralph in some way.

They Could.  Signing Bonus does affect your future cap with proration.  However look how Ralph operated.  if the cap is 200M he is only spending 200M that year.  But a cap of 200M the owner could spend DOUBLE that in singing bonuses for and prorate.  You can look at the teams that are routinely up against the cap they have very rich owners and within weeks are no longer against the cap.  Is a liquidity thing

    Gotcha, thanks.

Are there any rules against paying / compensating players with instruments other than cash?  For instance, a guy like Pegula, let's say he started a shell oil and gas company focused on drilling, fraccing, etc. and paid part of players compensation (provided they and their agents agreed to it) with equity stakes in that company?  If there was an owner that owned a diamond mine, could he pay players in diamonds to offset what he or she would otherwise pay them in money so that it doesn't impact the cap as much?  There must be rules against this, no?

This. People don't realize that all of these salary-to-signing-bonus conversions hit the owners directly. It's money they wouldn't have to pay otherwise. You have to thank the Pegulas and hope they continue to be willing to do it.

Ok so this response posted just before my last question.  I still don't get it though.  Why couldn't then the most wealthy owner give everybody ridiculously large contracts to attract all the best players in the league- paying it as a signing bonus if what your saying is that it doesn't impact the cap number.

It is Real.  But it very pliable and easily manipulated when you have an owner with CASH.

Can somebody explain this to me?  I'm woefully ignorant on how the salary cap works.  How does having cash on hand help manipulate the salary cap?  The cap is the same for all teams, so it's not like Pegula can go into his safe, drill more wells, etc. and "find" money to pay these guys.  Relative to each other, shouldn't every team be spending around the same amount year over year on average on players (whether they are on the roster or another team)?

  8. I think we can all agree that Daniel Snider is a PoS, his organization is a perpetual tire fire that will never cease to burn and pollute the NFL.  If guilty (I'm sure he is), but if proven- then I hope he's forced to sell the team and compensate the women.

That said, it bugs me that this issue is starting out at the level of the US House or Representatives.  Surely there are bigger fish to fry within our country that could benefit from the time and attention of the House's committee of Oversight and Reform.   Several problems that immediately come to mind that have much more significance than Daniel Snider's philandering are Big Tech, theft of tax payer money by corporations and major institutions of state tax money, corrupt government officials (elected and appointed), censorship & cancel culture, our half a$$ed voting processes and laws (especially at a national level), etc.

I remember years back circa 2007/2008 I was at FOB Normandy in Iraq and one day found myself in the MWR (morale, welfare and recreation) building watching US cable news via satellite.  The big story that was consuming the nation was the governments interest and involvement in the steroids in baseball scandal.  Meanwhile, 150 feet outside the window where I was watching the news, I saw another unit operating out of FOB Normandy conducting a memorial ceremony for (4) of their soldiers that were KIA the previous day.  That experience always stuck with me and highlights how a$$ backwards our nations priorities can be.

  9. I like that video of him getting absolutely blown up by one of our DB's or Safety's during our years of futility.  I think it was Nate Clemens?  Too lazy to look.  I also liked when his wife defended him after one of his SB losses to the Giants.

That said, he's still the greatest, unfortunately.  Too bad for us, but it is what it is.

I've watched the NFL for decades.  Quarterbacks like Josh Allen win Super Bowls. They don't NOT win Super Bowls.

And don't give me Marino.  First, he was a great passer - but he's not Josh Allen. He couldn't create like Allen, and he certainly couldn't run like Allen.  And those Miami teams were always poorly constructed.

Beyond all that, they couldn't get by the Buffalo Bills.  People rarely talk about that when they cite the Marino quote about how he always thought he'd get back to the big game.  We won't have that kind of competition on the division for at least a few years, and I'd wager for a lot longer than that.

I somewhat agree with you- but as it stands now, we can't get by the Kansas City Chiefs.  They are a talented well coached team with talent at all levels and have their own superstar QB to boot.

  11. We are NOT overreacting simply because there are no guarantees in the NFL and this could have been our best chance to win the Superbowl.  What if something happens to Josh in the offseason- our chances to get back into the playoffs would take a SERIOUS nose dive.

I just hope we didn't waste our only opportunity w/ this regime because who would have ever thought that a guy like Rogers would only have one Superbowl appearance?   Past success does not guarantee future performance especially in a league where things change so quickly.

  12. It's hard to improve a Rembrandt.  But put a gun to my head and here is what I think:

Touch throws - He's come a long way, but some of his passes could be a little better placed to aid YAC.

Body Science - Understanding his body, limits, movement, recovery methods that work for him, etc.  Take some kind of self defense class to teach him how to absorb / slide out of dangerous hits (help boost longevity and reduce injury chances)

Mental dexterity - Obviously already a very sharp guy, he maybe can focusing on increasing his already very high mental acuity.  Reason I say this is that if Daboll leaves as expected, I see Josh taking on more of an on the field coach / field general role al la Peyton Manning.

Personal - Take time to relax, be with family, friends and loved ones.  Maybe tie the knot with Brittany?  Personal and professional lives go hand and hand

The good news is that site for the new stadium has been extensively surveyed using ground penetrating radar. No native American remains there, unlike the current stadium. So, the curse will finally be lifted when we start playing there in four years' time. Josh should be in his prime, then.

Are you serious?  Is our current stadium built on Native American burial games? I never knew that!

So many fan bases out there think they are cursed. The Jets are cursed, the Dolphins, the Jags, the Bengals, it goes on and on.

The Oilers were cursed when we came back from 35-3 down to beat them. John Elway and the Broncos were cursed until they beat the Packers.

I'd say, awful loss aside, we're one of the lucky few franchises that has not only a franchise QB but one of the very top players at any position in the entire league.

Dolphins fans are staring down the barrel of another season with Tua at the helm, how do you think they feel?

You're making my point for me. Unlike some of the other franchises you mentioned, we've done everything seemingly right, built a contender, only to lose in the most soul crushing ways possible.

This Bills team, like other Bills teams of the past is very good- yet we appear to lose important / playoff games in the most mind numbing ways.

    -4 Superbowls

-Moulds deep pass then Fumble 98 playoffs

-The "Just give it to them" game

    -Music City Miracle

-Loss to the Steelers 2nd stringers to make the playoffs

    -Yesterdays 13 Seconds game

I'm sure I could think of more if I gave it time, but you get the point.  The teams referenced above were all very good teams that inexplicable lost.  They weren't dumpster fire teams wandering aimlessly in football purgatory.

  15. Title says it all and I don't know how we recover as an organization. This sure felt like it was going to be our year. A win today would have gotten us the Bengals in Orchard Park.  What do we have to do to get over the hump or appease the football gods?  We have a superstar QB who actually outplayed Mahomes.... In KC no less, but our vaunted defense which features 2 high draft picks specifically selected to slow Mahomes we're MIA.   Sure we'll field a competitive team next year, but I have ho confidence that we won't "Bills" away another season and and another one the year after.   What is it going to take to win a SB?  I feel like it's a hopeless endeavor.

Seriously though... what happens if you pop a woody during the game... I'd be afraid of fracturing my weewee which I've heard is both dangerous and incredibly painful.  Can't have 6'5" guys running around with raging hard-ons and not risk a serious injury.
