  1. Before his Senior Year, Locker was the end-all be-all of College QB Prospects. Let's just see how the season pans out.
  2. HA, I don't know if I'm the only one who picked up on what you said, but this is funny stuff
  3. Well, if the season was canceled, we would draft at 3 next year! Carolina already as 2 QB's which means we would only have to compete with Denver if we wanted Luck-- That is if he is still considered the BEST of the best!
  4. Thats what I'm saying. A smart person knows their weaknesses. What is Brandon's title, COO, CEO?? Whatever it is, he's certainly higher in the food chain than Nix is. Yet it's easy to see that our draft picks were picked by some with a football mind and a plan. Brandon clearly is the top dog in Buffalo, but he's not the guy making the football decisions. Just think, if Ralph would have had this epiphany 3-4 years ago, we'd probably be in the playoffs already!
  5. I can- it's definitely a possibility. See, Ralph trusts Russ. If he gave control to anyone, it would make sense that it be Russ since Ralph has known him for a while. Now the other part of this puzzle is that Russ know's he's not a football guy and so defers all football decisions to Chix-Whaley. It's also possible that Ralph split power between Nix and Russ, where by Russ makes all of the business decisions and Nix makes all Football related decisions
  6. I like make believe time! Makes being a Bills fan a little easier
  7. I'd take a chance on Vince Young. As long as he understands that the job will not be given to him and that if he want's to start then he will have to beat out Fitz in training camp. I think it could be a very healthy environment for him. If he does end up winning the starting job, we will have a serious weapon-- especially with Chan as our HC.
  8. It's worthless trying to predict W-L record before the season begins. Every team is different this year. It's a new year! Think back to last year, Who would have thought that the Chiefs would beat SD in week 1 last year-- and that the Chargers would go on to MISS the Playoffs! Or how about the 10-6 Bucs. What happened the the Vikes who just the year before gave the Saints all they could handle in the NFC Championship game! For anyone to look at our schedule and begin assigning W's and L's is just pointless.
  9. I don't expect a areat improvement this year, but I think 3-4 more wins is possible. Things should really start coming together for us after next season (which would be year three of CHIX) especially if we land a top flight QB. If Ralph gave them a "get to the playoffs or else" deadline, I think it would be after the 4th season-- we are going into season two. Of course, this is assuming continued improvement. If we go 2-14 this year all bets are off..... but I don't see that happening
  10. I think you are forgetting about a guy named Jasper. Sure he's a 7th round flyer, but I have good feeling about this guy. Give him a year or to and I think he'll end up being a FORCE for us.... along with Dareus and Williams of course!
  11. Here is his life story if your interested http://buffalowdown.com/2011/05/01/michael-jasper-who-the-heck-is-this-guy/ And there is more http://www.thestar.com/article/984285 The more I read about this guy, the more I love him in Buffalo. According to the Bills scout who found him: “The amazing thing about him is that he never gets tired,” Hand said. “In the games I watched, he never came off the field. He played hard the full game.” Apparently, he also did very well on the Wonderlic
  12. a. I believe he ended up not going to Ole Miss b/c the coach was fired. Later, he transfered once again b/c we wanted to find a school more inline with his Christian beliefs. b. Maybe he was only interested in Ole Miss c. I'm shocked about this too. You would think that more teams would have had an athletic 400+LB human being on their radar
  13. I hate that I'm letting myself get away with thinking that Jasper will be lights out in training camp and earn himself a starting spot, but I guess hope springs eternal. If he can really be something, then our defense should be one of the best- if not the BEST in the league! As much as I don't like Brady, I think I hate Sanchez even more. I would love to see our Dline wipe that smirk off of his face.
  14. Ehhhh screw them. Gosselin over at Dallas Morning News not only had more correct 1st round projections compared to the talking heads (King, Kiper, etc), but gave the Bills an A+ draft rating. GO BILLS!
  15. Agreed. I'm willing to bet that even when he was playing past 400 LBS, that he looked better without a shirt than Mt Cody i.e. significantly less man boobage!
  16. I forgot the link. Sounds like he's good $hite. Glad he's a Bill http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2011/5/1/2146887/why-i-predicted-jasper-to-the-bills
  17. I'm really intrigued by this mountain of a man. If he pans out, our defense will be TOPS. ANYWAY, I found this posted on Buffalorumblings from a person who supposedly has a son & nephew that know Jasper personally. Listen to his description of Jasper: "Great guy, tireless worker, listens and uses all the instructions from some former NFL players. Plays hurt, plays to the whistle, doesn't tire (that big who would have thought he might not need a play or two off) and pushes his teammates on the field and in the weight room." I'm giddy right now. This is just what we need!
  18. I'm not a football coaching expert; I'm surely not a positional expert. However, I would have to think that being so much bigger than your competition IN SOME CASES can even outweigh lack of skill. This is not to say that a 400LB fatty could go up against the likes of Vince Wilfork or Chris Jenkins, but this guy isn't a 400LB fatty. Clearly he demonstrated in his workout video that he's athletic, quick on the feet and insanely strong. Dropping ~65 lbs in 6 months proves he's motivated and wants to succeed in the NFL. Getting drafted was the first step. As long as he plays with a mean streak and is willing to be coached, I could see him making the team as a backup. He may be raw at the beginning, but he could make up for his lack of skill with superior size and strength. After a season or two his skills would likely be refined enough that combined with his immense size, he could become a starter rather than a situational player. MY QUESTION TO YOU- Do you believe that in the NFL sometimes size and strength can outweigh a players "rawness" / lack of skill
  19. It's a horrible thought but I know what you mean. I think there is a plan in the works though.
  20. It's a good thing. The Bills and Bangles had a leg up on the rest of the league by participating in the Senior Bowl. This comes in handy in the later rounds where the stratification between players' talent is harder to decipher. Having the opportunity to work with some of these guys, getting to know them personally (from a coaches viewpoint) for am ENTIRE week can make all the difference in the world! Long Rule CHIX!
  21. Good Article from SI's Don Banks: Said some nice things about Buffalo. I also agree with his comments about Detroit. That D line is going to be Nasty! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/don_banks/04/30/nfl.draft.saturday/index.html
  22. As long as we keep Maybin....
