McDermott has had a great track record with DBs. The fact that he can’t coach up this 1st round pick says more to me about the player than they system or coaching staff. Elam has been jumped by JAGs and an off-the-couch has-been. The organization has every reason to develop him and play him, but they choose not to. Assuming they can’t trade him for - 6th or 7th this off-season, I see no scenario where he’s on the roster next season.

Trade deadline needs what are your priorities

Why - we're obviously stashing Elam for the second Dolphins' game. -
By and large the call-ins are horrendous. It's even worse if you listen to the more than one or two segments per day because the same phone-in hot take will be repeated multiple times. Obviously the real knowledge doesn't wait in a phone queue. It rambles stream of consciousness on TBD.

Josh talked about his new “low positive” plan. He comes off the sideline and tries to get his heart rate down so that he can clear his mind as much as possible to process info in the game. It’s like he’s meditating. It really explains the difference in in his perceived level of care.

I believe him to be a very hard worker. The character flaw I see is that he's too loyal to "his guys" and gives them too long of a leash to figure things out. That said - if any one of about a dozen coinflip events yesterday didn't bounce TB's way, this game was a blowout. For the first time in a month, they looked prepared and had an attacking game plan. Now if they can just keep on the throttle for 4 quarters, we'd have a better record and this board would be a lot more tolerable.

I actually don't mind the 2pt conversion there on the road. If you make it, you have a chance to win in regulation. I believe historically 2pt conversions are hitting around 48%.
-
Agreed - i rewatched the second half this morning. To his credit Mayfield barely avoided multiple sacks, their punt returner muffs a punt but it bounced right back, penalties on non-converted 4ths, a TD catch bounced off the defender’s helmet, a 2pt conversion was tipped and caught…. Everything went TB’s way and it was still comfortable for the vast majority. We ALMOST dominated them. Imagine if we had lined up under center and snow plowed our way to a TD when it was 3rd and goal on the 1 early instead of lining up in the shot gun and getting denied on 2 plays in a row. Imagine if mayfield’s knee dropped 2 inches on that near safety. They seemed to get some swagger back this week. Hopefully they find the way to make these ALMOST opportunities in to conversions moving forward.

Thats moving the uprights from what you asked… that said, In 16 or 17 seasons Warren Moon was the offensive player of the week 16 times. Josh currently has 12. Moon likely would have more if he didn’t play in Canada, but I think they’re similar cases until Josh gets his ring(s).

Warren Moon?

I've got a group going too - which lot is Bills friendly?

The biggest blunder of the game IMO

100% - No mention of that anywhere. It may only be a small +expected value, but the right play certainly was going for 2 there. -
Kaiir Elam is a liability any time he is on the field

I may be Mis-remembering, and I haven’t rewatched the game. I thought Dane was getting picked on early. They may have moved Elam over hoping he would do better vs Ridley. Unfortunately he didn’t. -
24 Hours after London, The Good (yes there is good), The Bad, The Ugly.

I’m not sure how your expectations don’t change. I’d agree if we came out with an L but we’re healthy. Losing Milano and Jones for a significant portion of the season has a huge impact on my expectations. Couple that with Tre and you’re replacing 3 pro-bowl quality positions with JAGs. While it may not have been a sizable impact in-game, OCs can now prepare and game plan for glaring weaknesses. -
They’re picking on him for sure.

Is Chicago eating the contract? I was under the impression that Miami had cap space left (maybe that's next season).

KC moves to 4-1 on the season! * (????)

The Kelce brothers have been promoting the "relationship" on their podcast for quite a while. It's as much promotion for their brand as it is for the NFL. -
I’ve been watching him every snap. He is playing purely for a sack and gives up quickly. Not impressive at all.

Kyle Orton: Why doesn't he get a little ex-Bill love?

Without hesitation, I'd offer our 2022 1st. -
Because I think that Hamlin is a better safety than Cam Lewis and I think Elam is a better CB than Cam Lewis. I'll take a hit on ST if it makes my defense better. I believe the Cam has been on the gameday rosters so far because they needed two positions covered by one body. With Poyer out, they they now have 3 positions to cover with 2 bodies, and I believe the Elam/Hamlin combo is better than Lewis/Hamlin or Lewis/Elam.
-
I'm guessing they sit Cam Lewis and bring up Elam and Hamlin. Lewis is there because of his positional versatility - but I don't think he's better than either individually at their position. Hamlin can play special teams (he did during the preseason) too.

Gabe is this year’s Edmunds. We want him to be more than he actually is. We see glimpses that he’s capable of being next level, but he consistently is what he is. Honestly - if you took away the 13 second game, his career would look incredibly more mediocre. I suspect he will get paid more by someone else and next year we will have a thread asking how he’s doing.

Next Gen stat of the game: The Chiefs targeted Bears LB Tremaine Edmunds 11 times in coverage. Edmunds allowed 10 receptions, 88 yards and one TD.
