I'm pretty sure he said "I'm making a statement sooner or later" or something to that effect... not "I made a mistake". -

Spring football on it's way apparently
DasNootz replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This may explain the red football helmet with a white F on in that I saw at a bar in Orlando last week. For the life of me I couldn't figure out what team it belonged to. Maybe it's the Florida Fusion that will be based in Orlando. -
In the end, our expectations may have been too great.
DasNootz replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given that last year's team was 9-7 and nearly every defensive starter was returning and add a viable QB, Top tier RB, Percy Harvin, Charles Clay etc to the offense.... I don't think the expectation to improve upon the record was too much. Injuries, penalties and the defenses inability to adapt to a new scheme killed us. I fully expect the defense to retool and improve with another offseason to learn/adjust. With any luck, injuries to key personnel won't be duplicated and our offense seemed to gel at the end of the season. Penalty improvement, I wouldn't count on. -

Coughlin and Rex under the same roof... What could possibly go wrong? One ultra-discipline oriented, the other Rex. Neither knows clock management.

BOLD predictions for 2016 Bills Offseason

Buffalo uses the money saved by releasing Mario to sign Russell Okung rather than paying top dollar for Cordy Glenn EJ stays in Buffalo and develops as a #2 QB, while Buffalo drafts someone else in the mid rounds. -
Around the NFL: Odell Beckhams meltdown

I remember the Jacksonville Jaguars' punter injuring himself a decade ago with an axe in the locker room while "keep choppin' wood" was the team mantra. -
why would anyone attend next weeks game?
DasNootz replied to HerdMenatlity1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a sunk cost at this point and shouldn't factor into your decision. Now you need to consider the opportunity cost associated with attending the game. What else could you be doing on Sunday? Is it more enjoyable and/or more productive? Could you sell your tickets on the secondary market now? If so, is the combination of $200 back in your pocket and what you'd be doing in exchange more enjoyable that attending the Bills-Cowboys game? - I might suggest another option. Take the $200 and go to Aero Drive on Sunday, leave dollarless with the same feeling of shame and depravity... but at least you got to see boobies (not the Dixon kind). -
Report: Mario Could Be Gone- NFL.com
DasNootz replied to BringBackOrton's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It doesn't matter if he is angry with the defense of scheme, if he is not able to buy into the system, he needs to go.The player's role is to execute the coaches' strategy, not the other way around. -

DasNootz replied to BringBackOrton's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If that is the case, then he is completely replaceable. Some other no skill 275 pounder can wrestle with the tackle. It would be a complete waste of premier NFL talent, to use him in that role. When I watch them, I see your total lack of effort this season. There is no backside pursuit and he obviously takes plays off. -
After the Bills' week 2 loss to the Patriots a friend of mine texted me from Boston - "It's not that I hate the Bills, I just never think of them."

Next year, your wallet, and you.
DasNootz replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm a season ticket holder and will probably continue to next year as well, even though I honestly enjoy the home experience more at this point. I've sold off half of this season's games and drive 4 hours each way to go to games. That said... there's something about this addiction that keeps me coming back and keeps me regretting my emotional attachment on a weekly basis. Call it hope, eternal optimism or whatever... but I've come to far to give up now. -
Buffalo stalled and then made the correct decision to challenge. Imagine if another Buffalo team did that too...
-
I'm not sure that I need 10 cents... 1) The defense is coming together. They've playing better each week and they were the best unit on the field last night for either team. 2) Leodis should not return another punt in this league. 3) Clock management his horrendous 4) Something needs to be done on Offense to get plays in faster - we have to be capable of running a 2 minute offense 5) Sammy Watkins and Charles Clay need to do more than run go routes - especially when we have a QB that is not capable of making those throws consistently. Bottom line - if we can't beat KC next week, we don't deserve to be a playoff team. After losing to the Jags, we'd all have been content to go 2-3 vs. the Phins, Jets and Pats. IF the defense continues to play like it has the last two games, the playoffs are still very much attainable IF the passing game can develop.

If the whistle doesn't blow, Gilmore doesn't give up. Amendola makes the catch, but doesn't get another 15 out of it.

FanDuel and DraftKings Banned in NYS

If the refs could manipulate a game for 1 player, it would have very minimal impact on those lining the pockets of the ref. Best case scenario is that Hedge Fund X puts $1 million dollars into lineups with Karlos Williams exclusively, and the refs do what?... agree not to call holding on his TD runs? Do they collectively agree to call holding on TD runs by all other RBs in the league in vast conspiracy? I think its much easier and plausible for a ref to ensure a certain team wins or loses vs a point spread. -

I've played for 2 years with modest casual success (turned $200 into $1200 playing NFL games cash games only). Bottom line, it's speculation and not investment. You have some idea of what it takes to build a successful lineup, but you have no control over the outcome. All you can do is put yourself in the best possible position to take advantage of luck. Like anything in life, those that put in the most resources (time, knowledge and money) have the opportunity to be the biggest winners and should be able to eek out an advantage over those that are more casual. To that extent, I see it no differently than internet poker. I believe that both should be legal with heavy government oversight to make sure that those on the inside are taking only the rake and nothing more. Both have failed once either perception or reality showed that the industry itself was stealing from the consumer. In theory both should be largely profitable without enterprises without having to steal, but greed is greed. It is far less "luck" dependent than the lotto or scratch offs. It's also much less likely to impact the outcome of events than typical sports betting or horse racing, where one person or one team can significantly impact the outcome if paid off. *for the record - I do not believe that the "scandal" earlier this season was cheating, but without checks and balances in place, there's was nothing in place to prevent something more sinister from occurring. It's a shame that the AG has ignored the steps that have taken place between that date and yesterday. The government also gets taxes on any earnings over $600 in a given year, and the luxury of not allowing the losers to claim losses unless they're a professional gambler.
