ESPN predicts Alex Smith as starting Bills QB in 2018.
DasNootz replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lets not forget about Kelse in his prime and Hill who are among the top 10 in the AFC for yards after catch. When 30 year old Alex Smith had the likes of a rookie Kelse, Dwayne Bowe, Albert Wilson, Jason Avant, Jamal Charles etc... his state line was: 3265 Yrs, 65.3%, 18 TDs, 6 INT, 93.4 QBR over 16 games For Comparison - 28 year old Tyrod with this group of receivers and McCoy... 2961 Yards, 62.8%, 16.64TDs, 5 INTs, 89.1 QBR equalized over 16 games. 30 year old Smith appears marginally better than 28 year old Tyrod with similar offensive weapons - neither appears capable of competing with the Patriots in the AFC east. -

at this point Tyrod is a more athletic version of Smith for similar money. I'd keep Tyrod if that's the direction we're going. -
2018 Trade partners moving up the board
DasNootz replied to Tatonka68's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looking at the history of the 3rd and 4th QBs taken in a draft, I don't see enough success to warrant trading up (especially 2 first round picks) for the risk involved. (I don't think we're in a position to get the #1 or #2 QB based upon the needs of Cleveland and the Giants.) If our top 2 QBs are gone, you either stay put and fill in the many holes we have, keep one and trade back for next season. Deshaun Watson DeShone Kizer Paxton Lynch Christian Hackenberg Garret Grayson Sean Mannion Teddy Bridgewater Derek Carr Mike Glennon Matt Barkley Ryan Tannehill Brandon Weeden Blain Gabbert Christian Ponder Jimmy Causen Colt McCoy Josh Freeman Pat White Brian Brohm Chad Henne -
My group gets together for all of the games that we don’t attend live. We still eat, drink, and experience all the benefits of a tailgate but from the comfort of our own hometown. Once you factor in fuel, parking, hotels etc. i could easily buy a new 70 inch LED..... and my seats are relatively Inexpensive compared to most of the stadium.

This year's season ticket profit/loss for me. Two seats lower bowl end zone $550/piece+/-: Jets attended w/ friend who paid $60. Denver attended w/ daughter Tampa Bay - sold both seats for $120 combined Oakland - sold both for $150 combined New Orleans - sold both for $102.50 New England - attended with friend who paid $50 Indy - Maybe sell for $10 combined... maybe? Miami - Maybe sell for $20 combined... maybe? I'm about 4 hours away, and can't make the Miami game due to holiday scheduling. Indy, I'm a toss up to come use. Without family day this year for pre-season, we didn't not go to a preseason game, and there is 0 market for those tickets. Up to this point: Total paid out: $1,100 Total Collected from secondary market sales or sales to friends: $460 - possibly Total Tickets Used by Me and Family: 4 Average true cost per ticket used by me and my family: $160.00 This pattern is certainly representative of the last 10+ years. It makes me seriously question if I should give them up and just buy individual games instead. At some point the shiny badge of honor of having season tickets wears off. If they ever went to a PSL, I'd definitely be done.

I've asked this question a dozen times..., and it begs to question are we better off using our draft stock to fill in holes and build around a journeyman QB if we're not in position to get THE quarterback we want... I don't want to settle for the 4th or 5th guy off the board, which unfortunately we may still have to do, even if we trade up given the needs of other teams that will likely pick before us based upon record.

Bad play call, but exciting finish -
What (do you think) Peterman's stats are this week?
DasNootz replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
300 yards, 2 Tds and 2 ints. One of those interceptions is off a receiver who wasn't ready for the fast delivery and is taken back for a score. I also expect Zay Jones to have his breakout game as he returns to the slot where he belongs. -

I assume it's just one 3rd and a 7th... all I've seen is "third and seventh round picks".

Trades that should happen: Cordy Glenn to Giants
DasNootz replied to Peace Frog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Glenn is not going anywhere.... and we shouldn't want him to unless we received a king's ransom. -
Take away His 1st round draft pick status (sunk cost) - he has 8 tackles this year and one sack. What huge market was there going to be this offseason for a guy with 18 tackles, 2 sacks and $54 million remaining owed? Now throw in that he's been late to games(s), an off the field headache, and I'm surprised we got any picks in return. His production is easily replaceable in this defense as shown already this season, and we are no worse off this season without him.

Are the Bills Oppressing Anquan Boldin?
DasNootz replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he wants to play.... why are we entertaining trade offers? Isn't our biggest need right now at receiver? -
11-19-0 and 128 yards passing, with a convincing NFL win

I'd like to play Trevor Siemian in between the 20s and Tyrod in the red zone. -
Deshawn Watson is better then Tyrod. Yes I said it
DasNootz replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After watching several non-Bills games yesterday, it's clear that many/most QBs in this league make decisions faster than Tyrod and release the ball much sooner. Sure Trevor Siemian had a couple picks yesterday, but he moved the ball up and down the field easily and put his team in position to score points. -
I think you'll start seeing football decline in Texas and California specifically. The parents that are bankrolling their kids private QB coaches will have their kids go in a different direction.
-
I think you'll start seeing a further socio-economic divide with the game. The wealthy will push their kids in a different direction and eventually the funding will follow. 20 years from now it will surprise me if it's recognizable to today's game.

The writing is clearly on the walls, ceiling, floor and furniture... This sport is fading fast. Enjoy it while it lasts. Football will continue to erode from the pee-wee level up as parents protect their kids from getting their heads scrambled.
