Well, the article begins with a paragraph extolling his virtues as a pass blocking great, utilizing their All-22 criteria. A good pass blocking Center is certainly a Must for a Daboll/Allen offense.
In short, I don’t think our next Center is currently on the team.
Still it's so odd that so many of our linemen are regressing. Something is (or isn't) going on with coaching.

I have to think this has been discussed at OBD as much as here at TBD. But doing so takes away his greatest aspect -covering the middle of the field on short throws. It’s in every teams’ playbook for Hot reads. WRs, TEs & RBs are always circling in this area. A couple Patriot* receivers made a multiple SB career out of it. Edmunds length is freakish enough that many QBs no longer even attempt this, but his best attribute is his speed to go along with his unique frame. Do we all wish he hit like Jack Lambert? Read plays like Willie Lanier and be ever in the right spot like Dick Butkus? Of course. But none of those guys faced today’s game. It’s a passing 1st game today and that area of the Defense has been easy pickin’s since the West Coast Offense first reared it’s head. Tremaine brings a dimension perfectly suited to defend against this.
I think the onus is on us the fans to accept it and be grateful he can take away this prevalent aspect of today’s game.
Now, being better at recognizing run schemes and keeping himself from being fooled in another direction is still a noticeable challenge, but this can be learned. Speed and gigantic reach can’t.
Sam Bowie was drafted ahead of Michael Jordan because of his gigantic reach. As I frequently remind my wife, size isn't everything.

No thank you. Not an Edmunds fan, but this guy isnt an upgrade.
Agree. And I'm not 100% sure our players are the issue.

I'm a UNC fan. Yes! Give him a shot. Our current RB's are slow, fumble, and have horrible vision. If he's terrible, he's just as good as they are.

Keep hearing that Beane hasn't really drafted well because our offensive/defensive line is so bad. Also keep hearing that we have over spent on marginal free agents because they under perform here. Is it possible that once these athletes get hear they're have no direction? I know that not all 280lb men are not the same, but lot's of ours end up looking pretty darn lazy. BTW, Daryl Williams had a few plays Monday that should get him sent home. Low effort can not be tolerated.
I shouldn't write before coffee.

Didn't he get a chance in the pre-season? I think he had some ball security issues.
I don't think that's a deal breaker

He had one really good play. They'll give him an extension.

Last year we used lot's of motion and the Jet Sweep was in the game plan. Something has happened in the office that has caused us to dumb down our offensive game plans.
And Williams looked lazy last night

It's astounding how far their OL has fallen off of a cliff from last year.
I knew they were middling in the middle.........but they have gone from that to terrible this season. Feliciano has been a bust after losing a bunch of weight and apparently power and then getting injured again. Boettger went from promising long term backup type to garbage. And I have long been critical of him, but can't even believe how Cody Ford has managed to regress.
And the tackles..........Williams has been atrocious at RT after being excellent there last season. I could see a drop-off but this can only be explained by a lack of preparation and want-to.
The other tackles: Dawkins f*cked around and ended up nearly dying from Covid and has subsequently been a weakened and inconsistent version of himself. Then Brown misses games after passing on the vax.
The OL is a prime example of what can happen when you promise love and trust in a sport that has survived on fear and accountability as the primary motivators for all of its existence.

How balanced were Patriots last night? I always love how you only have to be balanced if you don’t run enough, but never if you don’t pass enough.
You don’t have to be balanced, you have to run successfully enough that teams have to at least respect it. We don’t have a single decent NFL level RB, and an Oline that can’t run block.
They can't pass block either. Allen makes their stats look better than they really are.

Well, their defense was better than ours. They only gave up 10 points.

He is the exact same player he was last year and the year before. His game hasn't improved with his age. I think he's old enough now that we can retire the "well, he's only ____yrs old". He's a grown man and just isn't that good.

Looks like Star pitched a shutout last night. No tackles. I don't want to be a "boxscore scout." So I'll leave it to the All 22 reviewers to show me how he occupied two Pats linemen most of the night, allowing Tremaine Edmunds to be the run stuffer we always knew he could be.
I don't want to see him fired for exactly these reasons.
But what I want or don't want to see doesn't matter. The Bills' turnaround under McD has bought him at least one more season, but realistically only one more season. It's hard to see this team advancing to the AFC Championship again. If that doesn't happen (particularly if they blow it and don't make the playoffs at all), it's one step back instead of one step forward to the Super Bowl. And coaches on teams considered to have "the most talented roster in the conference" don't last long unless their teams play like that's true.
Yeah. Holy crap Tremaine sucked last night.

$12.5mm already committed via 5th year option and would be dead cap so assume we keep.
He's tradeable but I'd be fine keeping him just to use on passing downs to rush the passer. His days as our middle need to be over.

And why the hell did we take the ball in the second half instead of the wind in the 4th quarter? Belichick just laughs at these other coaches decisions.

HOW CAN ANY HEAD COACH BE THAT BAD AT THAT??

I'm not sure what position Edwards will excel at, however I don't think it is MLB.
Put him outside on passing downs and tell him to rush the passer, nothing else.

Not running Allen more is kind of like when Mickey had Rocky fight right handed to throw off Apollo, except we forgot to switch back to our strength, which is unleashing Allen in the run game. This entire season's failures fall directly on coaching. Other coaches game plans aren't beating us, we're beating ourselves.

Get a rain suit made for wearing while riding a motorcycle. Load up you pockets with handwarmers and wear a couple of layers. You won't even think about the weather.
Not a bad idea to wear some Depends.

Yeah, I've been on missions before during which I punished myself by eating wings that were too hot. Those days are over. I like heat and probably more than most people. I don't mind a tear in my eye whilst enjoying a nice, hot wing. But I've had wings that just plain hurt to eat and those days are over for me.
I only want to experience the heat once. Don't want the foot stomping reminder the next morning.

I just wish we were better built for the Buffalo winter. Love our chances, but a Buffalo team shouldn't be so concerned about the weather.
