  1. I can go with that if you look at water = passing and food = rushing. You can survive quite a long time without any food, but you can't go very long without water. Yah rushing is necessary, but not nearly as much as passing. Look at the colts who were last in rushing but 2nd in passing. There is also the stats of the top 5 rushing teams last year only 2 made the playoffs.
  2. I like prospect of Roscoe running around a la Welker, but this is dependent on old Edwards making those throws over the middle.
  3. That was my thinking last night as well, looks like our LBs are going to be a big liability on pass coverage.
  4. Does anyone know if there is video of this play. I wish they would have showed that last night.
  5. Kyle looked good last night, he was consistently pushing his blocker back and getting (hehe) penetration. I agree Brohm certainly looks the part of an NFL QB, and his play last night was pretty good. It is hard to compare his performance to Edwards as Brohm wasn't with and going against first team players. I am on the run Edwards out of town boat, but he didn't look like his normal sucky self. Maybe that hit knocked the QB back into him. The play that got Schouman hurt, Edwards felt the pressure, tucked the ball and stepped up and out of the pocket. Normally I would expect him to curl into the fetal position or force a horrible throw there.
  6. My hope is that Chan is really giving Edwards a clean slate and trying to give Edwards some confidence to overcome his chronic checkdown syndrome. Then after seeing this for a few preseason games and watching the tape Chan will end the Edwards experiment once and for all.
  7. Are there actual numbers out there somewhere or is this just from your observations?
  8. Rapelisberger was sacked 50 times last year as well and he threw for 4300 yards and a 100.5 passer rating.
  9. I think the 49ers are coming of age this year, and have a good shot at the playoffs.
  10. What he said, cover the chicken in a nice rub and use half a can of your favorite beverage. I've only ever used beer, so I can't speak to using soda. I am definitely going to have to try a lime beer next time I cook a beer can chicken. The most important thing is to slow cook the chicken over indirect heat.
  11. I think the Bills will be better then last year, so my high bar is 8-8. I highly doubt we'll pull a playoff berth, but I believe this will be the year we get that elusive W against Cleveland. Nothing has been more disheartening then losing to the lowly Browns two years in a row while witnessing some of the worst football ever played at a pro level.
  12. I'm Muffmonster on the PSN. I don't own MW2, currently playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Uncharted 2 online.
  13. How many Klopfenstein text messages is that now?
  14. I was told these guys http://www.sorrsports.com/ will change the name on the back for a decent price. Not sure if i'm going to spend the money though. If I don't I've still got my Fred Jackson 50th throwback to wear.
  15. Yah my bad I "assumed" we were talking about Fitz.....need to learn to read before posting.
  16. Hate to use the cliche, but he plays with heart. How many other QBs do you see lead blocking out of the backfield like Fitz did on a couple occasions last year? Obviously that may not be a good thing if it leads to injury, but you can really see that Fitz is a competitor.
  17. As it was stated Brohm represents hope. You are right he isn't just some guy, there is potential for greatness given his college career, but we all know college success does not guarantee NFL success. I'm all aboard the Brohmwagon!
  18. I won't argue that one with you, I'm just afraid he'll end up getting Fred or Spiller injured. Our RBs took some wicked shots last year because the defense was sitting in there lawn chairs waiting for the checkdown.
  19. What good is the fastest read time when he refuses to REACT?
  20. More of a joke on the oatmeal....and diabetes. I remember seeing how he got his diabetes under control and was in the best shape of his life. By no means am I bring Cutler into this Edwards vs Fitz thread.
  21. If Fitz is a career backup then what is Edwards? From what I saw last year Edwards was outplayed by the career 2nd stringer.
  22. Agreed and Chan seems to be that guy. We are all so desensitized because of the Jauron era, that we may be elevating Chan a little prematurely simply on the fact he isn't Jauron. I am excited though and so far like what i've seen and heard from him.
  23. I hope you are right, to me he has the most upside or potential. Young QB came out of college with a ton of talent but never delivered. He's been given the opportunity now in Buffalo. Edwards has the tools, but lacks the marbles. Fitz has the marbles but lacks the tools. We'll just have to wait and see how all this shakes down.
