  1. On February 4, 1993, after the Bills had appeared in their 3rd straight Super Bowl, Bill Polian was fired as general manager. Polian wasn't fired because he wasn't doing a good job, he was fired because he didn't get along with treasurer, Jeff Littmann, for reasons unknown to all except those close to owner Ralph Wilson, Littmann and Polian himself. In his closing press conference, Bill Polian said of the team that he built, "They're a very special group of men. Cherish them, you will not see their like again." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Polian
  2. parrish, kelsay and a 4th for ginn....
  3. who is donte whitner to suggest any personnel? he may find his way off the roster next year
  4. Maybe he would break out if he could catch the balls that are thrown to him...
  5. i also think ellison is among the leage leaders in tackles because the bills D never gets off the field. it seems like teams they play run nearly double the plays the bill run. he is making his tackles 5-10 after the LOS. i think a more meaningful stat to look at would be tackles for loss.
  6. would you trade T.O for a signed Derek Jeter hat and a bag of hockey pucks?
  7. 5. I think this is what you need to know about coaching situations this morning: a. Dick Jauron would need a miracle to keep his job in Buffalo, but know this about Ralph Wilson: He has not made an in-season firing of a coach since Hank Bullough 23 years ago. Wilson kept Gregg Williams to the bitter end of a 6-10 season in 2003, Mike Mularkey to the end of a 5-11 season in 2005. This team is awful, but would Perry Fewell or Bobby April be suitable interim guys for the last couple of months? I don't see Wilson doing it, but he's got to be near despondent over how horribly wrong things have gone since a spirited opening night performance at Foxboro. 8. "The Miami Dolphins are shopping for a star wide receiver. If the Buffalo Bills can't figure out how to deliver the ball to Lee Evans, maybe they should consider trading him for a plum draft pick. ... The Cleveland Browns were short on playmakers even before Wednesday, when they traded wide receiver Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets. If he stays out of trouble, he'll be a big boost to the Jets. Now the Browns will be even less dangerous entering Sunday's game at the Bills" http://www.democratandchronicle.com/articl...a+grand+sendoff --> it's on the 2nd page...
  9. would anyone disagree with that assessment?...
  10. I think Mickey's been done since his son died and he learned that he wasn't going to be the next FSU HC good point. i think the whole coach in waiting idea is ridiculous. mickey andrews should be the next HC. it doesnt surprise me that there are rifts going on between bobby and jimbos guys. why the hell would jimbo coach into bobbys philosophy when he knows in a few years that its going to be his team. i sure they have had issues regarding who and who not to recruit.
  11. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4531451 I think this is a shame. I have been an FSU fan for as long can remember and those late 80's and 90's FSU teams were some the best collection of talent any college program has seen. Bowden is one of the top 5 greatest college football coaches of all time and to be treated the way he is being treated is a travesty. I know the program has slipped in the past decade but the man is a legend and deserves better.
  12. i believe brady, montana, carson palmer, jim plunkett are all from california...
  13. Why shouldn't they smile? They played hard. They did their best. They just aren’t good enough. It’s not going to change this year or any year that Ralph Wilson owns this team. Move on. I kind of envy these guys. You know. They understand something that we fans don't. Their whole life isn't out in that field. It's their job. It's not an obsession. If you have a bad day at work do you want your wife or kids razzing you the rest of the day/week?
  14. Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
  15. a rivalry is not a rivalry when both teams have sucked for the last 10 years.
  16. mods...please remove this idiotic thread
  17. I dont think the weather is going to be as much as a factor as most people think. The wind is supposed to be 1015mph & Channel 4 says the rain is going to stop in the morning. Should actually be a decent day for football. The weather Channell generalizes a region & tries to cover their ass. The local channels are more accurate imo. holy christ! 1015 mph winds!!! armageddon is here!!!!!
  18. A wise man once said "you cant stop drew brees, you can only hope to contain him."
  19. you're right brady was LUCKY throwing for 387 yards and 3 tds against the bills...
  20. everyone is jumping to wayyyy to many conclusions to how good the bills are this year. yes, they have had two decent offensive outputs in a row. yes, the run defense seems to be better. but, the bottom line is the pass defense is atrocious and we lost to a seamingly more beatable than ever patriots team and a terrible bucs team. the saints defense is awful as well so i expect the offense to put up some points this week but lets wait to see how they play against a 3-4 defense i.e the jets, miami or a respectable defense i.e. atlanta, tennessee and carolina.
  21. when i was about 4 and starting watching football i was a DOLPHINS fan all because of dan marino. he was/is my favorite player of all time. up until i was about 10 i used to watch the bills games with my family and purporsely root against the bills just to be a jack-ass. as soon as i turned 11 i thought why the hell do i like the dolphins? im from buffalo! the bills and the U have been the only teams i truly care about and the bills have been breaking my heart ever since.
  22. how about the '92 cowboys...troy aikmen, emmet smith, michael irvin, nate newton, moose, alvin harper and darren woodson all in their primes. and they absolutely destroyed the bills in the super bowl
  23. I wonder if Drew Willey making a triumphant NFL comeback with the Bills would have the same effect?...
  24. A. McKelvin has the highest kick return average last year so he is an outstanding kick returner B. McGee is getting a bit older and isnt able to handle the double duty C. Kick returning and punt returning are two different things. Kick returning is about exploding through a seam and straight line speed. Punt returning is about shiftyness. and start-stop speed. The old saying goes on punt returns if you make one person miss it a good return, two people miss its a TD.
  25. SO ITS YOUR FAULT THE BILLS LOST!!!! JINX!!!!...
