  1. KC Fans ought to be happy to hear that all 3 scouts said Mahomes >> Allen and Reid >> Daboll "accuracy concerns" heh
  2. https://www.nj.com/giants/2022/01/giants-hire-gm-joe-schoen-did-john-mara-get-this-right-he-nailed-the-search-process-at-least-and-credit-him-for-that.html Reportedly they are still working out the details of his contract, but if the rest of the interviewees have been told "sorry", it seems like a done deal they will give Schoen whatever he wants
  3. We literally had a different group of guys trying to block him last season. Why do you believe a different group of OLmen will have the same result? Why do you believe Chris Jones will have the same results? His numbers overall are down vs last season, with almost exactly the same number of snaps.
  4. Some people would think the NFL might pick a ref crew that would be biased towards a style that helps the Chiefs.
  5. There's a funny exchange at a charity competition held at Top Golf & MC'd by Pat McAfee. Starting about 1 minute in, Pat asks Josh about jumping over Barr and his running ability: McAfee: "Harrison Phillips says that they had no idea that you would be the dual threat QB that you have become" Josh (deadpan): "me either. no. no." McAfee (laughing): "6'6" QB from the University of Wyoming, this guy's gonna be a freak athlete, is what everybody was thinking" Josh: "Exactly" Beane mentioned in his presser post-draft that he thought we would be "pleased" by his "mobility", that he would be more mobile than people think. But I think most people, even including the Bills scouting staff, didn't believe Josh's rushing abilities at Wyo would translate into the much higher level of competition in the NFL. I think Josh was just growing into his mature height and putting on muscle at Wyo and evolving from the "Tortuga" of his Sr year in HS. He said this week on Pat McAfee that it seems as though the bigger and stronger he gets, the faster he gets https://youtu.be/SFoDV-Zj5ss?t=1508 Josh: "As I've gotten heavier over my life, I've gotten more athletic and faster, which is wierd Mcafee: "It's a dream" Josh: "I'm at 245 right now (looks offscreen at handler), which, don't tell my strength coach that...I'm bulked up right now and I'm able to move pretty good, whenever the team needs me I'll be there" McAfee: "What is your expected weight from the strength coach, lower? 230?" Josh: "242, I got a few pounds to go but it's not bad, it's not bad at all" Mcafee sidekick in black cowboy hat: "My question is around you saying that you're getting more athletic..I clocked you at a 4.42 running last game....you had a 4.75 at the combine, did you just not try at the combine?" Allen: "I did, but I guess at game speed, guys are chasing you, you have a little extra motivation there...but again, going back to high school, my coach used to call me Tortuga....I never had the athleticism that I have, really, up until college" So basically, I think from Allen's own words and Beane's, the degree of his athleticism passed under the radar when he was evaluated pre-draft and perhaps has actually increased along with his improved throwing accuracy, with training during the off-season and with Josh being a late-bloomer and continuing to grow into his adult frame. I think anyone who implies that the degree to which Allen has become a dual threat QB and able to make top NFL football players miss, was known pre-draft and was a motivation for the Bills drafting him, is indulging in revisionist history...I think Beane and his staff did know that Josh's playing speed was faster than his combine speed, though, and that he was more elusive than his "pajama olympics" numbers showed. I think it just goes to highlight how the "underwear olympics" just don't tell nearly the whole story of a player's game speed and elusiveness.
  6. Mac Jones is married? (sorry just riffin on the MJ10 trademark thing)
  7. @ProcessTruster has a good point IMO. It's like saying the refs are not calling downfield blocks on both teams, when one team runs a lot of RPOs and one team doesn't
  8. We just played the #2 defense on points, #4 on yards, #4 on turnovers, #2 on passing NY/A, #24 on rush YPA, #11 for pressure % at 25.6%, #5 for hurry % at 12.5%. Chiefs are #8 on points, #27 on yards, #26 for NY/A, #31 for rush YPA, #6 for pressure % at 26.4%, #3 for hurry % at 13 I'm not trying to say the Chiefs are a bad D, and they have played much better the 2nd half of the season, but could you explain exactly why you feel the Chiefs will present such a different test?
  9. It's worth noting that Hussey will not be playing with his regular season crew in the playoff game.
  10. I actually came into this thread to post this, basically Josh said he came to give him props for how he played (and Josh said he has a lot of respect for BB which he returned) McAfee made the point that there aren't a lot of opposing coaches that would be welcome into the opponents locker room right after the game The whole interview on the McAfee show is worth watching. Special guest appearance by another Bills player LOL This is probably true
  11. Did McD actually say that McKenzie was fumbling in practice on KR/PR? Or at all? I had actually seen other people saying "he had issues in practice" but when I asked how that was known, I didn't ever see an answer. Someone - think it was @Shaw66 - talked about being at a game watching warm-ups, and how McKenzie was body-catching the ball. Even if he's not fumbling, if people are telling him "this is how you need to catch the ball" and he's not listening and reverting to bad habits, that's got to change.
  12. Op is totally Craycray I would never want to think we won’t win. But if we win, it will be because we come in well prepared with a great game plan and fight like hell KC has at least as much if not more talent, and extra servings of swagger.
  13. The answer is “perhaps”.. Antigen tests can’t. Some PCR tests can indicate it’s likely that strain. The NFL has been sequencing the virus from positive tests, so that they can track spread within the facility. So they can 100% tell
  14. That would be because the NFL stopped testing
  15. They effectively are. They aren’t testing anything but unvaccinated players, and by now most of them have had Covid and are excused from testing for 90 days. I’m not sure whether or not they’re randomly testing players on Monday, but other than that - they stopped testing unless a player self-reports symptoms
  16. Now you're just being silly. No one here claims the defense is infalliable. But it is very good. McDermott / Frazier Ds do seem prone to give up 1-2 big plays per game. You can always check the .pdf file in the game information on nfl.com or check the box score at pro-football-reference. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/202201150buf.htm If you scroll down to "snap counts" and sort on defense, you'll see that Dane Jackson is the only defender who played 100% of the snaps. All the other stalwarts who normally play the whole game like Poyer, Hyde, Edmunds, Milano, and Wallace only played 76% of the snaps, or 15 fewer snaps than Jackson. The final TD drive for NE was a 15 play drive in the 4Q. So you don't have to notice, you can objectively with a few mouseclicks verify that the Pats last TD drive was against our backups.
  17. He may have been "in the moment" unable to be civil immediately after the game, and after he warmed up and got his emotions a bit under control, wanted to be more gracious. Or maybe he was looking for playbooks to steal! Lock 'em up, McDermott! Can't be too secure around Belichick!
  18. If I didn't agree, I'd close it, but when you go into encouraging rampant speculation and saying it's "odd" that it's "not really discussed" as you did here: .......I think it's fair to point out that unsourced speculation about another team's players injuries and plaints that "it seemed to not really be discussed" may be a bridge too far during the playoffs, so don't take it too far. We do routinely point out that topics which are appropriate during a slack week in the off-season are not necessarily so during training camp/regular season/playoffs.
  19. The US Government will provide 4 free covid Antigen (rapid) tests per household. The government has launched a website where you can get four at home tests per household, free of charge. It takes about a minute to complete the process, and I would recommend doing that now if you have not already, since it just went live today. http://COVIDtests.gov The tests are said to ship in late January.
  20. IIRC, Lamar has played through some injuries. I see no reason to question his toughness. The guy is a gamer. Let the training staff and coaches decide (which they did). Players have also had their careers shortened or become permanently less effective by playing through some injuries - see Luck, Andrew. A team is foolish to put a valued player in that position. They're also foolish to put a key player on IR unnecessarily for an injury with an unpredictable and variable timeline. It can go the other way, too. Arguably, the Browns might have been in the playoffs if they sat Mayfield and played Case Keenum for a few more games. Keenum had a career year and a trip to the Conference Championship in Minnesota playing for Stefanski / Shurmur in a run-centric offense. And at a smaller impact level, some of us have wondered if the Bills would be playing at home this weekend if they had played McKenzie for an obviously injured and hindered Beasley against (say) the Jaguars. Beasley was 8 for 11 in that game, but with a pitiful 3 YPT and 4.13 Y/R, and was notably going down immediately before he was hit. A few more first downs could potentially have swung that game. Perhaps you would like to visit a Ravens board, where it is probably being discussed with great interest. This is a Bills board, and while fans of other teams are welcome and discussion of other teams is appropriate, it's a bit sketchy to start threads to speculate about injuries/illnesses of players on other teams who are out of the playoffs.
  21. Yeah, Lawrence was the can’t miss wonderguy and he was in a bad situation, but how much of the “it” factor did he show?
