The preparation for one interview generally feeds into another - it's not like you throw it all out and start over. An interview can be anything the two parties involved want it to be. Daboll has already interviewed for the Bears and the Dolphins HC positions. If Schoen wants Daboll to consider the Giants, they would easily be able to agree to have a reasonable length (1 hr say) interview for the purpose of Mara and Tisch getting to know Daboll and being able to make a decision if they have serious interest in pursuing him, without it taking 2 hours, (let alone 2 days) away from his Chiefs preparation. The game plan is already installed and being practiced on Weds, Thurs, and Friday. Daboll can't compartmentalize during the game, he's not the guy we want to retain as our OC. Me too. Doubt McDermott is either. For that matter, doubt Beane is.

I think, as someone else pointed out, Jerry is bringing in as many top players as he can afford, and filling in the rest with "guys" - the "Stars and Scrubs" system. It's not a great team building strategy, which is why his W/L results aren't where he wants them to be.

I disagree, and factually, so do a bunch of coaches and players who voted for Probowl (though to be fair, I disagree with the voting) He has a specific skill set that the team has to be built to support. This year, a lot of those pieces were on IR or missing.

The problem is, the football TEAM needs to have 22-28 guys that would start for other teams. No one could deny that he's got quality guys who can Ball, but he hasn't built a team.

Huh. Sounds to me like he's dissing on the GM decision to sign Cooper Bigger issue, I think he's succumbed to Whaley Disease, meaning he's brought in and drafted a whole bunch of good to great players, but he hasn't built a team.

It would be a rebuild defensively to bring someone like Martindale in, like dismantling our #4 Schwartz led defense to re-boot it to Wrecks Ryan's specifications. Martindale was with the Ravens, but just as linebackers coach, not DC I dunno about "logic", but sure - coordinators are canned for down years (heck, for a few bad games!) all the time in the NFL. It doesn't have to be logical to happen. It's called "having a fall guy"
