  1. Good question. McDermott addressed him and Zimmer briefly saying "on track". But what does "on track" mean? ACL injuries are said to take 9-12 months to rehab. Tre tore his ACL on 26 November and had surgery on 15 December. 9 months would be mid-August. Here's an article on Tre's injury from PT Dr Kyle Trimble (BangedupBills) https://bangedupbills.com/2021/11/27/buffalo-bills-cb-tredavious-whites-acl-injury-outlook/ Some points of interest are that he says players who return prior to 9 months are at substantially increased risk of re-injury. He also discusses some players who returned to play at a very high level, and concerns that some players do not.
  2. OK, so you're talking about Dorsey was QB coach under Mike Shula as OC, on the Panthers 2013-2017. I understand your logic. Shula went on from there to be OC of the NY Giants, then QB coach of the Denver Broncos. Meaning he's likely to be unemployed as the Ponies saddle up a new coaching staff. I gotta say not impressed by the Broncos QB room - yeah, there's the question of talent, but they just don't seem sharp as far as how they're coached, and then there's the episode where Denver played without a QB in 2020 for one game, after the QBs put their Kinexion trackers in the far corners of the room so they could all sit together and watch film (the NFL found that out while reviewing the facility film on Saturday and that's why they were deaf to the Broncos pleas). I think when you work under someone for 4 years then bring them in to work under you in a new job, it might not be too comfortable. Shula would have to have a bit of the saint about him not to be second-guessing Dorsey and telling him how to do his new job, and Dorsey would have to be a bit of a saint not to take any feedback/input/sanity checking Shula might offer as second guessing or challenging him. Dorsey was a winning college QB from a big program with a Rose Bowl victory and did play in the NFL. I'm sure he's got an ego. Shula is the son of the all-time winningest NFL coach and I'm sure he's got opinions on how things should be done. I'm sure your fan friends input comes direct from the front office. https://elitesportsny.com/2022/01/22/giants-hc-tracker/
  3. Oh good call - right you are, I missed that. Kudos to Ingram for the hustle in missing, landing flat on his face, and getting up to hustle over there.
  4. So how do these Cover1 guys know this for a fact when McDermott is Stonewalling better than Andrew Jackson?
  5. At least 4. I think that's #49 (Sorenson) who had a possible chance to tackle Josh short of the first, but got the stiff-arm: #24 (Ingram) was coming for him but arguably (IMO) took a bad angle and got left in the dirt, you could argue to not count him I guess I will eat my hair if we have defensive linemen capable of this kind of "Peter Pan" move ("I'm FLYING!" Josh: "Happy landings!")
  6. So I listened to McDermott's interview again. The most interesting (to me) part was at the end when (I think) Jay Skurski was asking aout re-signing free agents. Last season (as Skurski noted) McDermott did say something about it being a priority to re-sign as many of our own as we could. This season he said nothing about that, and said that they would have to take their time and go through on a case-by-case basis. Earlier in the presser McDermott said something about bringing back the same guys sometimes causing its own problems, and he was proud of the team and coaches that they were able to work through them. I came away with the impression that there are guys they do not want back (I'm sure there are also guys they do want back)
  7. You make sense. So basically it's a jr employee sucking up to his boss. Returning to the OP and the OP link: https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2022/1/24/22899153/josh-allen-buffalo-bills-nfl-playoffs-highlights-stats-draft-omg?utm_content=sbnation&utm_campaign=sbnation.socialflow&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter All the film clips they put up are great, and I love the "QB Love" our guy is getting, but I personally think it's MORE painful to have that loss while Josh was playing at a mega-star level.
  8. Which Cover1 film room was this? Or another of their shows Was it this one? Approx. timing appreciated
  9. How long has Riddick been out of the player personnel business? Dungy has been a broadcaster for what? 12 years? It's a very different grind. I think it would be great for Frazier to get an opportunity like that. 😇
  10. I know what he wrote, but what achievements or accomplishments or what all make this Jason Kirk dude "great"? Like I would call Greg Cosell "great" as a film analyst because he's been analyzing film on NFL QBs since the '80s and seems to know his ***** and be generally respected and highly regarded by NFL insider types. There are some other guys whose opinions or mannerisms I may not be in sync with, but who have made genuinely big contributions one way or another and might merit to be called great.
  11. Who is "the great Jason Kirk" and what makes him great? Enquiring minds just want to know.
  12. Joe Buscaglia just posted an article suggesting that McDermott's presser contains clues that he didn't want a kick to the EZ Buy that? Don't buy that? Buscaglia does have a track record of speed-reading between the Bills lines and is sometimes wrong.
  13. Shouldn't you add the option of "get trounced in the Superbowl by the 49ers or Rams"? This too
  14. I think you're right. And a month ago...and two months ago....and and
  15. Jay Skurski doesn't like McDermott's presser https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/analysis-sean-mcdermott-walks-tightrope-with-lack-of-explanation-for-now-infamous-13-seconds/article_db328f04-7e24-11ec-9dcd-43e250208e79.html?utm_campaign=snd-autopilot&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter_TheBuffaloNews Neither of those are any surprise. McDermott has consistently refused to throw coaches or players under the bus (with the somewhat shocking exception of 'Lil Dirty). He also specializes in sounding as though he's engaging with the press and providing answers, while providing little substantive information. What does this mean, though? Does Skurski think the fans are going to turn away from this team because McDermott is stonewalling questions? One frustration of mine. McDermott said: I would have liked to see some reporters take up the line of questioning, HOW are you going to face it? You note that you already practice daily, you try to be detailed and prepared. So what will be different to achieve a different result. You're not going to run from it, what does that mean?
  16. Well, that. The other component is the beating QBs take in the pocket if they get (legally) hit or sacked. Joe Burrow took a mind-numbing body-wrecking 51 sacks this season. Josh Allen took half that, and even less as a % of plays (3.9 vs 8.9%). As long as he gets out of bounds or gets down as much as possible, the difference in physical punishmen from standing in the pocket vs. running may be less than we think. As Harbaugh said about Lamar Jackson "When he runs, he's in control". Not 100% true, but more true than not.
  17. Curious, where are you seeing this "narrative"?
  18. In this case, primarily observation. If you're interesting and want confirmation, Cover1 have had some film room cutups last season where they talked about Knox not being a very physical player and about his route running; in a presser I think last season, Knox discussed Allen talking to him about "giving him good body language" on a route. But these were embedded in other pieces so they were hard to find. In contrast, for example in Knox 2nd TD against the Pats you could see he was very physical with the DB and got his hips in front of him, enabling the throw. You can also look at his route trees for games where he ran enough to be charted and see how they've changed. Again, Knox has been a very much improved player this season and it shows in many ways, on film as well as big jump in catch % (from mid-50s to 69%), same 4 drops but on 2x the number of receptions and higher targets, so lower %....but he can still be taken away by physical coverage and I think when we see the all-22 of yesterday (if we have the stomach for that) it will be shown to be so HTH
  19. I think this was expected
  20. Beasley and Allen do that. Diggs and Allen do that some, with more miscues than I'd like to see. It's all upstairs for Knox. He only just this year learned to read the D and figure out who he was supposed to block given the post-snap adjustments on D. He only just this year learned to run crisp routes. He's still progressing in his ability to learn to read the coverage and put himself where they aren't, while giving "good body language" to Allen.
  21. Addison and Hughes are already free agents. There is nothing to release. Feliciano may be released, as may Ford. If he retires, the Bills can ask him to repay the remaining portion of his amortized bonus. I don't know if they would.
  22. It will, but to my understanding it will go up to its pre-agreed maximum of $208M which is the figure Spotrac is working with Beane may or may not read us some tea leaves in his post- season presser My guess is that the Bills will clear about $16k of roster space with perhaps 2-3 cuts and a couple of re-signings or renegotiations. They will use that to try to re-sign Phillips, Zimmer, Bates, and yes, Wallace (sorry folks). Neal, Boettger and McKenzie as lower priorities. They will hope to have some cash after that to go after 1-2 mid-price FA for the returner/speed guy position and at DE. I could be wrong and they might prioritize bringing back Hughes or Addison - I don't think they had the development that they want from the young guys at DE yet.
  23. Haven't seen us playing more man since we lost Tre The contrary - Tre could support some man coverage, I don't think Dane Jackson is "up" to it.
