Yeah, in terms of “needs” I’m un-enthused so far. But we’ll see. -

That was my thought, Milano backup/possible Milano replacement. But I do wonder if they think they can convert him to Safety? Did Beane say he could play Safety? -

Snap pt 2

Snap! I wouldn’t call Baker Mayfield a bust though. I think he’s a capable NFL-quality QB (and a bit of a tool)

WTF, are the Panthers trying to make a collection “All the 2018 1st round QB who are Not Josh Allen or Pick 32” on their roster or something? Note to Panthers: Josh Rosen is probably available, too

Pick 57 (2nd round pick 25) traded to Tampa Bay for Pick 60 (2nd round pick 28) Bills also get Pick 180 (1st pick of the 6th round) Pick 60 (2nd round pick 28) traded to the Bengals for Pick 63 (31) Bills also get Pick 209 ( 6th round) Nice to see Stevie Johnson announcing the pick - “Only one Football team in New York State”

Bills recent fourth round picks.

Dude, get your Dukes straight. The Duke Williams we drafted in the 2013 4th round was a DB, a safety, and he played for us 4 years, which is OK for a Day 3 pick. What's the point of going back 10 years? Different Sheriff in charge of the town. So we can say that in the last 4 years (Beane), he hit it solidly on 2 picks (Davis and Johnson) and traded the pick 2 times. It's clearly been a valuable pick for us. That said, if Beane and McDermott saw Elam >> Booth (or anyone else left on their board) I'm not gonna quarrel with their assessment. DB is one position where they seem to know their stuff. -
Sure. But there's a difference between "confident" and "####-sure". Like Tua with his comment after 3 games "I expected it (the NFL) to be a lot harder," it might not age well and people will keep their "receipts". As one of the Packers OL said to Farve "I gotta block this guy, Brett, Don't Piss Him Off!"
-
I'll wait to reach that conclusion until the Pats miss the playoffs 2 years in a row 3 superbowls, 2 SB wins in the last 6 years plus 2 playoffs including 10-7 with a rookie QB doesn't sound like "game has passed him by" at all That said....my impression is that Bill Belicheck has always been the guy who wants to keep everything he can, close to his vest and not delegate. That philosophy works better at age 60 than at age 65 and better at age 65 than age 70.

LOL at that last The Jets had a solid first round and came away with 3 highly regarded players who should help them a lot. OTOH, the announcers on ABC were just "washing" them to a ridiculous degree, they drafted the best CB in the draft and they drafted the best WR and then they drafted the best LB/DE in the draft. Every year, players who are drafted later on outperform initially and/or have better careers than players who are drafted higher, so I think the chances the Jets hit it out of the park x3 are fairly small. They had a good draft, but let's not go nuts. The pundits were all slamming the Bills a couple years ago for trading up for Josh Allen and then for Tre Edmunds. We know how Allen vs Pundits worked out and while in hindsight, we might all rather have Darius Leonard, fwiw PFR has Edmunds at equal AAV to Roquan Smith (who went eighth) and better than Rashan Evans (who went 22); Edmunds hasn't been what the fans hoped, and maybe not quite what the Bills hoped, but he's been a starter.

That’s not how the Bills build their draft board. There are embedded pieces that talk about this. They don’t limit it to one position. If you believe Beane, then yes, they didn’t have a first round grade on Johnson
-
I think they’ve had a good draft, but every year the “best” player at a position in the draft doesn’t turn out to be the one believed to be best on draft day. A claim that the Jets got the best WR, best CB, and best LB in the draft seems highly uncertain and therefore unlikely.

Wow, ABC draft coverage really heaping praise on the Jets.
-
Yeah, the trade-up was weird. That was my thought, we believed someone else would trade up with Dallas?

I was just thinking that "I got some Special Sauce for you, Gardner!"
