  1. In the link above, that's one thing Flores floated as a possibility. I think Leftwich is still in consideration for New Orleans; what's being circulated out there is that Leftwich not being hired in Jax is on his own doing, because he didn't want to work with Trent Baalke as his GM and requested that they release Baalke and hire a GM of his choosing. To which I say good for him to be confident in himself and not take a HC job on terms he was not comfortable with.
  2. Not Tua: Daniel Jones. The claim in the lawsuit is that McDonnell, the Giants pro personnel dude (allegedly) texted Flores on January 11 that he "heard Daboll isn't happy with McDermott in Buffalo and might be able to get out of it if he doesn't get a HC job" implied: in order to take a position as Flores' OC for the Giants. It's worth noting that the Giants didn't interview Schoen until January 12 or hire him until January 21.
  3. For those who don't know, Florio is pretty well qualified to speak on topics like this. He is an attorney, and his specialty was employment law.
  4. Klis has a series of tweets basically claiming that Flores claims about his Broncos interview are FOS. One of the comments: Another:
  5. -Bobby Johnson's contract was up. It was reported that the Bills tried to extend him and he declined the extension. So I'm not sure how you get from "leaves...Bills didn't want him". If anything, the logical conclusion would be Johnson didn't want the Bills. -Daboll in fact left for a promotion. He was still under contract with the Bills, not relieved of his duties. Someone in the Giants FO allegedly suggested in a tweet to Flores that "“Heard Daboll isn’t happy with Sean [McDermott] in Buffalo . . . might be able to get of if he doesn’t get a head job. . . thoughts?'” Taking that at face value the logical conclusion would be that Daboll didn't want the Bills, not that the Bills didn't want Daboll. The text said "might be able to get out..." not "would be able to get out". IMHO "Heard ..... " is pretty flimsy evidence. It's not text from Schoen, or anything Daboll said, it's at best 3rd hand. So I don't know that it even represents proof that Daboll wasn't happy in Buffalo. I can think of other explanations.
  6. And with this, I hope everyone, everywhere, would fervently agree. No problem if anyone wants to enjoy some other type of syrup, just don't call it "maple"
  7. Hi. About that "better education". The Cornerstone Speech called, and would like to speak to you. Cornerstone (n): An indispensable and fundamental basis. Scroll down to the paragraph that starts "But not to be tedious" and the following paragraph.
  8. I really hate to be in the position of defending Eric Bienemy but this is somewhat overstated. This is a pretty balanced and factual account: https://thebirdsblitz.com/will-red-flags-in-eric-bieniemys-past-cross-him-off-eagles-list-should-they/ It also points out that there are troubling instances in the past of other coaches (Urban Meyer, they pointed at you) that don't seem to stop them from getting looks.
  9. From when? Because if it was when he was a player or a young hot-head, people are allowed to grow up. I thought they're all trash talkers around the game.
  10. Flores won 5 out of 6 last 3 years. So he owns 2 out of 3 teams in the division. They gave us a decent fight in the 2nd meeting this year.
  11. If Belichick actually heard from Mara himself that they intended to offer the job to Daboll before they interviewed Flores, that's a horrible look If Mara called Belichick and said "we interviewed Daboll today and we think he might be our guy, what can you tell us about his (something something)?" and Belichick is over-enthusiastic in how he interprets that and runs off to congratulate Daboll (but gets lost in the electrons along the way), 🤷‍♂️
  12. But it doesn't. The rule is the rule. It calls for what it calls for. It does not call for a penalty. Now. If someone with HC hiring authority on the Giants called or emailed or texted or sent a FedEx packet to Daboll offering him the job AFTER he interviewed on Tuesday Jan 25 but BEFORE Flores interviewed on Thursday Jan 27, then yes, it was a sham interview, and possibly violated the Rooney Rule requiring at least 1 in-person interview of a minority HC candidate from outside the organization But if someone who is somewhere down in the chain of command told Belichick that they were really wowed by his interview and it looks like Daboll's their guy, then Belichick reacted to congratulate Daboll, that leaves Schoen and Mara and whoever else the final decision makers are with "plausible deniability". It happens all the time that the guy or gal you interview early blows you away, but if there are other interviews already set up, you may go ahead with them because, you never know, the next interviewee may be even better and change your mind!!!! You might drop a few breadcrumbs to keep the first fish on the hook though... In this case, there's an NFL requirement that you go ahead with the interview you've set up. But still, unless whoever has the hiring authority actually told Daboll "congratulations, you got the job!" before Flores interviewed 🤷‍♂️, and Bill Belichick's premature (and misdirected) ejaculations of "sounds like you've landed, congrats!" and "I hear you're their guy, hope it works out if you want it to" don't really amount to much
  13. Are there even 6 teams in a position to hire an OC right now (either because their OC was just hired, or because they have already hired a HC?) It seems like a bit of a stretch
  14. I think that would be a rude and ignorant way to refer to Bienemy, which causes me to regret what I wrote as eliciting this response. I'm sure you have heard him referred to that way, but there are people who talk trash all over the world. My point was that Andy Reid is (rightly or wrongly) believed to be calling the plays and running the offense, so he gets the credit (and blame), even if it's actually Bienemy who is the mastermind.
  15. I don't think the DL is in the same situation as Bates. The OL doesn't typically rotate. So Feliciano got all the snaps, until he was injured and Boettger got all the snaps, until he was injured and Bates got all the snaps In contrast, except for Bryan Cox Jr who was on IR, all of the DL saw the field at one point or another DE Addison 45% (17 games) Basham 39% (8 games) Epenesa 37% (14 games) Hughes 52% (17 games) Obada 35% (10 games) Rousseau 49% (17 games) DL Ankou 30% (PS, 5 games, signed by Tennessee) Bryant 23% (PS, 2 games) Butler 44% (10 games) Lotulelei 47% (11 games) Oliver 58% (17 games) Phillips 55% (14 games) Zimmer 43% (IR after 6 games) Obviously some saw the field more than others, but except for the PS guys and the guys on IR, they all saw significant snaps in at least half the games.
  16. The guy you're responding to was asking a chap who specificially mentioned the Jacksonville game and our inability to score a TD
  17. If they're asked about the lawsuit, or anything alleged in the lawsuit, their best comment is still "No Comment"
  18. That "it takes a village" comment is one Daboll has made before. Basically talking about how a lot of people work with Josh behind the scenes including PR people and media coaches On the other hand, it's a fair point that the person who probably had the most to do with Josh Allen's development - namely, Josh Allen - seems to get the least of the credit.
  19. As of right now, Kelly Skipper the RB coach is the logical choice
  20. Only if you don't succumb to temptation to run the All Josh, All the Time show, instead of running the backs Right, it's a gamble either way You're either taking a guy who washed out of an OC position elsewhere - maybe not his fault, maybe his side of the ball was great and the other side sucked, or maybe he didn't have great talent to work with, but that's a guess Or You're taking a shot on a guy with a good background, but he's never done it before and the jury is out
  21. Wait what? Who where and when? Link?
  22. Still. Not. Giving. Him. Clicks.
