Kurt Warner - Josh Allen deserved the W

If you haven't seen it, how do you know it's a stupid movie? -
Mac Jones "lights" up the skills contest
Hapless Bills Fan replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like Allen got mocked for missing the net on some skill contest his rookie season. How'd that work out? Yeah yeah I know why we're grinchy about it, Allen got mercilessly mocked and downgraded in those days, while McCorkle has been bathed. -
Brian Daboll hired to be Head Coach of NY Giants
Hapless Bills Fan replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
The coaches and players are prohibited from football related activities together. They can’t discuss the playbook, watch film together, hold workouts, or other “football related activities”. If Daboll chooses to invite 40 of his closest 300 lb friends over to devour chunks of grilled steer and pound beers, the NFL has nothing to say about the choices they make in their daily social lives. But this was probably during the pre-season or June OTAs -
Gadget player and moving on from Isaiah McKenzie

It just depends. McKenzie and Beasley seem pretty tough. McKenzie is listed as 173 and Beasley 174 Dane Jackson is 5’11” and 180 -

Chiefs OC Eric Bienemy getting 2nd interview with Saints..
Hapless Bills Fan replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Could they do that? I thought the rule change was that assistants could not be blocked from interviewing for coordinator roles. In any case, Reid seems like a guy who cares about the development of his assistants, so if Bieniemy discussed the need for a change with Reid I can't see Reid blocking him. And I can see your point, and yet the counter-point that OCs under McVay and Kyle Shanahan don't seem to have trouble getting jobs, after less time and less success. Don't McVay and Shanahan also call the plays? -

Matt LaFleur did similar moving to OC with Tennessee before getting the HC gig in GB I've kind of made the same suggestion - that maybe if he wants to be a HC Bieniemy needs to move out from Reid's shadow -

Chiefs OC Eric Bienemy getting 2nd interview with Saints..
Hapless Bills Fan replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a fair question just what is his contribution? But isn't it just as much a fair question "just what is Kevin O'Connell doing under Sean McVay?" and "just what is Mike McDaniel doing under Kyle Shanahan?" And yet being the OC under a HC known for his offense doesn't seem to slow those guys down from getting the opportunities 🤷♂️ -
Chiefs OC Eric Bienemy getting 2nd interview with Saints..
Hapless Bills Fan replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a fair question. I guess the answer would relate to how crap the years were. In the Saints recent past "crap" meant 7-9. They haven't had a bad season since 2005, the last year before Payton took over (and signed Brees) The real question is what they plan to do at QB, because I don't think Taysom Hill and Blake Bortles will take them very far. -
Super Bowl LVI: Bengals at Rams
Hapless Bills Fan replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall
My Tartt rejoinder is that Stafford was one butterfinger from throwing away the NFCCG. I lack faith that he won't do likewise in the SuperBowl. Whereas Burrow seems able to "take a lickin' and keep on tickin'" -

Geesh, if you're gonna put this stuff out there, at least take 2 seconds to Google. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2022/02/2022-nfl-head-coaching-search-tracker New Orleans Saints Dennis Allen, defensive coordinator (Saints): Interviewed 2/3 Eric Bieniemy, offensive coordinator (Chiefs): To interview 2/6 Brian Flores, former head coach (Dolphins): Interviewed 2/1 Aaron Glenn, defensive coordinator (Lions): Interviewed 2/2 Byron Leftwich, offensive coordinator (Buccaneers): Interview requested Doug Pederson, former head coach (Eagles): Interviewed 1/30 Darren Rizzi, special teams coordinator (Saints): To interview The Saints have interviewed Brian Flores, Aaron Glenn, and requested an interview with Byron Leftwich. They've more than satisfied the Rooney rule. Unless you attend the Brian Flores School of "If there's a frontrunner going into a 5-man schedule of in-person interviews, It's A Sham!!!!" the simplest conclusion is if the Saints want a 2nd interview with Bieniemy, it's because they're seriously considering him. It is crazy, but the Saints have had crazy cap situations before and maybe had a rough couple years then pulled it all together. -

So if Kafka breaks down the opponent and installs the plays, and Reid calls the plays on game day, what does Bieniemy do? I'm not trying to be snarky here, just trying to understand. -
So just of interest, I see that that Russ Wilson and Josh have similar numbers. Russ Wilson says he spends "at least" $1M annually on his mind and body https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/04/nfls-russell-wilson-spends-at-least-1-million-a-year-on-health.html Stuff he spends on: -2 hypobaric chambers which he uses 4x a week -a "mental conditioning expert", Trevor Moawad, to get him into the right mindset before games -a physical therapist -a massage therapist -a trainer who "travels every where with him and his wife" -a "mobile person" who makes sure he is "moving the right way" -2 chefs I wonder how much of that stuff Josh does? I know he talked admiringly about how Diggs takes care of his body "better than anyone I know" I know 'Zo Alexander and Steven A Smith had an exchange about taking care of their bodies, including cold therapy, deep acupuncture, deep tissue massage, Pilates, keto diet etc. One of the group asked 'Zo if he gave his young teammates advice, and he said something like "I give it, but they don't listen to me because they're young. They just roll out of bed on Tuesday morning and go." Smith chimed in with "you get older, you're like Nuh Uh, Not today, Gimme that deep acupuncture, Gimme that massage"

That actually is a fair ask. It was reported last summer that Jacson was looking at $42M/yr. https://www.si.com/nfl/ravens/nfl/ravens/news/jackson-new-salary After Josh's contract, Bucky Brooks said that Lamar's would use Josh Allen's as a floor That was Then. The Ravens GM says "not so fast": https://theathletic.com/3112753/2022/02/04/ravens-gm-eric-decostas-news-conference-5-takeaways-including-the-status-of-lamar-jacksons-contract/?source=spotrac&pc=spotrac40off2&redirected=1 So it sounds like the GM and the organization are perfectly willing to have Lamar play out his contract at this point - or at least taking that posture. That usually seems to happen when the two sides are too far apart on perceived "fair value"

Then WTF are you down with here Incorrect. You started out saying this: Nothing about how often. Just that Josh doesn't initiate hits like Cam did. I pointed out that is not true, Josh does initiate hits. Then you went to this: I point out that Allen absolutely tries to run through defenders at times, as well as stiff-arming them and tow-trucking them. I gave examples. Now you claim your point was "he didn't do it as often as Cam" when in fact, that wasn't a point you made in either of the posts I responded to, but rather a caveat I volunteered. It's highly disingenuous to say something, have it countered, and then attack the person who is debating with you and claim they're arguing a point you "never said" when in fact, they're disputing your exact words, correctly quoted. I normally respect you as a poster, but this ain't right. At the very least, acknowledge you didn't write in a way that made your intended point very clearly, if your intended point was "oh yeah, actually Allen does do both, just not as much" Allen absolutely initiates contact and runs people over. Beane knows it. Beane talks about getting on Allen's case about it, presumably because he's well aware of its potential to shorten or dampen Allen's career, so hopefully Allen will continue to curtail that aspect of his game. That's all.

I've seen this about Kafka elsewhere (maybe from you). Can you explain how you know this? I'm not challenging your information, would just like to understand its source. Thanks. -
Brian Daboll hired to be Head Coach of NY Giants
Hapless Bills Fan replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Second, I think. At least if you google "Brian Daboll second wife" she comes up. But who's counting? (The kids are his, hers, and theirs, 2 each) https://nypost.com/2022/02/04/brian-dabolls-wife-talks-his-personality-how-they-met-family-life/ Some of her stories though LOL -
He stiff arms guys on a regular basis. The 2nd clip I showed above, Allen "tow-trucked" a would be tackler, basically hauling him down after himself as he went out of bounds. 3:29 in. Beane says he's improving, but he still tries to run over guys. Again, can't comment on how often vs how often Newton did it, didn't make a study.
-
*blink* are we watching the same games? This isn't exhaustive, it's just a quick Youtube grab 2020 2021 (3:29 if link doesn't timestamp correctly) Division playoff Those are just a few notable ones, but there were others this season. As Beane himself noted, "I want him to get down, he wants to run someone over....he's a QB with the mentality of a linebacker" Beane doesn't say that if Allen doesn't truck people Now whether he trucks people as much as Cam did...can't tell you that. But he absolutely tries to run people over at times.

I didn't think a team could refuse permission for an assistant to interview for a coordinator position At least, with Dorsey, the question of permission/refusal didn't seem to arise. I also don't keep up - didn't realize that Keith Butler (Steelers DC) had retired in January.
