  1. Now I'm really puzzled, because in fact, with Trubisky's 4 years as a Bear, the team's record was >0.500 (29-21) and in fact, the team was over .500 each year except for his rookie season. So if he's already done it, how can he be incapable of doing it? I don't think Trubisky is a top-10 QB in the league, but I think he's a capable starter who can win more often than he loses with the right pieces around him.
  2. Once again, will be interesting to see the details of that contract. This
  3. Feliciano moving with Bobby Johnson, did I call it or what? I wouldn't bet against Boettger going there also. Wonder what the contract will be - my guess is, substantial pay cut over the $4.9M he was gonna earn from the Bills, but I think any OLman who has shown he can play in the NFL gets well over vet minimum. I didn't, but then I suppose I was saying "Feliciano or Morse?" not "Feliciano at C or Feliciano at G?" And this past season he just wasn't good at G, so I think that colors things - but up to the AFCCG I thought he played decent at G last season
  4. That would be my guess, that Harry has had an offer beyond how we value him I think people expecting a Star cut may be disappointed
  5. Before I would say you’re wrong, I would ask what you mean by “second rate quarterback”
  6. We're not worried about signing the draft class yet.
  7. I wonder if that was a factor - he mentioned playing through a shoulder injury this past season. He also mentioned meeting Dawkins at the Pro Bowl. I have to wonder if Shnowman talked up the training facilities and staff as "they'll get you right"
  8. That, and I expect Saffold wanted to check out B'lo and the Bills facilities as well. I didn't think Morse was in Buffalo. He didn't appear to be in the B'lo interview facilities. No, it's just a sign that these are a player still under contract and a player who is free to sign immediately, vs a guy who can't sign until Weds.
  9. Mitch Morse interview up on Buffalo Bills Twitter: Lots of good insight into how Morse sees his role and the last season.
  10. I think it's possible that has something to do with Burrow and Tannehill, not to mention the sort of passing game they run. Also in Tennessee, the absence of Henry and the fear he puts into opposing pass rushers may have had an effect. Though to be fair, Tannehill had 2 awful games (6 sacks, 7 sacks) and they were Weeks 1 and 4...against the Jets. the Freakin Jets.
  11. Oh, is that the connection? Typically an OL coach likes to bring in a couple of vets who can help teach his techniques, I was wondering who it would be. Saffold sure as hell beats out Vlad Ducasse and Jon Feliciano (the last two OL coach additions) He's played both positions but the fact that he's overwhelmingly played on the L side for years may speak to preference/effectiveness.
  12. I don't have game-by-game stats or know where to find them, but IIRC one point several guys who follow the team were making is that Allen's strong ball skills working from under center were being under-utilized because we were mostly in shotgun, and not running enough from shotgun to sell play action there.
  13. I think that's missing the point, which one of the commentators made IIRC - the Rams kept TRYING to run, so even though the Bengals were stuffing it, they still had to keep defending it - meaning they couldn't just focus their defensive attack on stopping the pass.
  14. I could be wrong, but I think the success on play action ticked upwards once the run game solidified at the end of the season - week 12 on, say; certainly weeks 15-17
  15. Can Bates play RG? He's been advertised as able to play any spot on OL, though his T-rex arms don't favor him at OT
  16. Or let me re-frame that a bit. Every QB is better and has better protection/is less likely to be hit in the pocket, when the defense has legitimate doubt as to whether it's run or pass and can not just vacate their run D to go after the passer.
  17. Played RG 2 years in StL. Much more experience on the L and I think maybe a bit better there.
  18. That's the truth about FA. Everyone overpays for them.
  19. Is that what it is? Oof. I bet they tack on a "void year"
  20. OK I will say this....Saffold as Not That Guy any more could still be way better than Williams at RG
