  1. I agree the publicity-hound lawyer seeking plaintiffs and his whole approach make it seem like a money grab. As far as the police and whether or not these events really occurred, I don't know, but it's neither more or less likely in my mind because they didn't go there, for {good reasons}.
  2. I agree with most of this. I can not agree about pursuing a criminal case first and what not doing so means. It could mean that the police blew it off or that they or a friend had a prior poor experience with police and were like "don't bother". If victims lack confidence of even having a complaint taken seriously and investigated properly, much less charges are filed, much less conviction, there's very good reason for all of that. I hope you never have someone you care for involved in that. I think the lawyer was actively seeking women to add to his case with his Instagram. Now that doesn't mean that the allegations didn't happen. But there's all sorts of stuff about how memories and eyewitness testimony can be influenced by the way an interview is conducted....and yeah, the chance for $$ is also a factor. Whether or not it happened, I'm very very uncomfortable with the way this case is being pursued in the Court of Public Opinion.
  3. Indeed. It would kill me. Sheesh. Well, secondhand but a couple on here know women who personally knew Watson at Clemson and have only good things to say. So there's this disconnect/disbelief about Watson like "*****, who else might have feet of clay"? If Allen or Diggs want a massage in their room, I hope they keep a witness around.
  4. That is weird. Sounds like Marcel L-J trying to have it both ways - wiser than Allbright in knowing there was nothing happening with the Eagles, but not ready to put it out there publically on Twitter and willing to imply "hey, maybe there is something happening" yesterday.
  5. That's supposed to be Big Vern's job. Big Vern/Oliver/Big Vern/Oliver no break for the OL
  6. He might be. We'll see. He earned $3.2M with the Seasnakes last year - they gave him a second-round tender!
  7. He may help there? In the running game, I think he's a better blocker than Dawson Knox, who can block OK when it's clear who he's supposed to block but who seems easily confused about his actual blocking assignment (or stunted around) I think some people believe Ertz may have been making "career decisions" and kind of discouraged by the play around him and it's more about that then him losing a step. The thing is, that can get to be a habit
  8. That was in 10 games, for reference. Spent the first 6 games on the PS.
  9. This is in about 8 games, after Olsen got injured. Didn't see many offensive snaps in the rest. Basically he was a "fringe" starter for Seattle - PS his first 6 games in 2019, #2 or #3 TE in 2020 after Seattle signed former all-pro Olsen. He's not the TE upgrade I hoped the Bills were looking for, but he's probably 80% of Kroft at 20% of Kroft's salary.
  10. The reason Allen had no talent around him his Jr year in Wyo is because Gentry, Hollister, center Chase Roullier (starting for WFT) and I think 2-3 other guys for the NFL after his Sophomore year. Gentry was on the Bears PS for 2 seasons, waived at the start of camp, then injured after the XFL picked him up. Hollister was signed by NE for 2 years then the Seahawks traded for him. It's not like these guys are game-changers (if they were, they wouldn't be signing on cheap deals) but it's not like they're trash no one else in the NFL has rostered, either.
  11. Hollister does not deserve to be put in the Lee Smith category as a TE receiving threat. He was the #3 WR on Seattle's 4000+ yd passing offense in 2019, 3.7 receptions/game, 31.7 ypg. He ain't Kittle, Waller, Hunter, or Kelce but when did Pat DiMarco, Reggie Gilliam, or (fergoshsakes) Lee Smith do that in the NFL? Hollister's snaps fell off the first part of 2020 after Seattle signed Greg Olsen, but he still made some catches when his snap count increased at the end of the season. Decent depth signing and really not a Lee Smith replacement I think - I don't think he can block anything near Lee Smith's abilities
  12. No, Sir. Vernon Butler's natural position is 3TDT. He played 1TDT at times last season, as did Ed, because they asked him "pretty pretty please" but it's not what he was signed for - they expected him to replace Jordan Phillips rotating opposite Big Ed. Pretty sure Zimmer's best fit is also 3TDT
  13. Zimmer more of a 3TDT? He's not wrong!
  14. It's possible, but we have Gilliam on a cheap rookie contract for 3(?) more years and Hollister, even at vet minimum would be more expensive. They both play a LOT of teams.
  15. Good low-cost signing IMO. He was one of the downgrades between 2016 and 2017 for Allen (Hollister and Gentry both left for the NFL) He started out playing primarily ST for Seattle, and still does, but the last couple years he's been seeing a lot of offensive snaps. Greg Olsen bumped him down the depth chart last season, but he saw playing time when Olsen went on IR. 25 receptions on 40 targets for 209 yds last year, 41 receptions on 59 targets with more playing time the previous year. Low drops - 1 drop 2019, 2 drops in 2020. Third in receptions on the Seahawks in 2019. Seahawks FA scouting report says this: They don't seem to think much of him as a blocker, in pass protection anyway. I would rather have had Everett, but he also went for $7 million. Any word what Hollister's contract is?
  16. Well, among other things, this is the lawyer who represented Mario Williams ex-fiancee when he sued her for return of the ring and other expenditures, and who released private texts between the fiancee' and Williams in which they alleged Williams expressed suicidal thoughts. Which seemed pretty douche-y to me. I expect if you're a rich, famous woman with time and money for all the personal trainers and workouts you want, personal shoppers to help you find the most flattering fashions, beauticians and cosmetologists, and even plastic surgery, it might just be possible to appear more attractive than if you're working 60 hrs a week and raising kids while trying to maintain a house (and buying your clothes and cosmetics at Walmart).
  17. Unless those aren't the numbers. (Points out that inconsistent definitions, or conflating "unfounded report" with "false report" inflates those statistics - "unfounded report" can mean either false, or "one in which the report does not meet the elements of the crime, but is presumed truthful"). There are also an undefined number of cases in which, under police pressure, the victim recants and says the report was false - which have been later proven beyond all doubt to be true based on evidence collected in investigating a different crime. Really don't want to go down this rabbit hole of a generalized discussion, the point is that any hard numbers in this field should be regarded with suspicion.
  18. I think it may be a situation where the Bills are wanting to leave space for a rookie and have told him that if they bring him back, it will be to compete. He deserves a shot to get paid.
  19. If he gets open against tough press man coverage and makes plays in the big games, he can put any damned dressing he wants on his wings. He gets a mulligan from me. Oooooooh WAAAAAYYYYYYY Tooo much info, dude. DON'T over-share.
  20. On the other hand, being #3 or #4 in targets for Mahomes might be better than #2 in targets to Big Ben
  21. We'll see what the Bears and others offer him.
  22. Agree. McDermott stood up there and said we have full confidence that Isaiah McKenzie can play for Cole Beasley and run all Cole Beasley's routes if he can't go. But when the cleats hit the astroturf, Cole Beasley with a broken leg and Gabe Davis with a badly sprained ankle got the nod above him. That kinda says our confidence in him is limited and we want to open a space for a new guy to develop, IMO. But I really like Isaiah and wanted the Bills to keep him. I love that little punk, out there trash talking all our stars 24/7.
  23. NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Not Lil' Dirty! Say it's Not So. I don't see the Bills being able to offer him more than vet minimum, possibly even just a VSB contract without much guaranteed/bonus. And Chicago has been a decent, contending team. If they make him a good offer with decent guarantees, could be good for him. That QB situation though.....Dalton? Foles? 😭😭😭😭
  24. Wow, where did that come from? Isn't JuJu "The Man" with the Steelers? Whereas with KC he would be what, #3 at best, behind Kelce and Hill?
  25. Can you explain this a little more? Upthread, @JGMcD2 did some careful work and came up with the Bills spending $5M on ST-specific players. Without doing the same careful work he did, I woulda said ST-specific players last season included (2020 salaries) Roberts ($2.3M), Taiwan Jones ($1.75M), and Matakevich ($3.4M) so $7.45M - I may be considering incentives that weren't reached etc and overestimating. I'm not considering punter, kicker, and long snapper as every team carries one, and the Bills clearly made the decision to bail and move on when confronted with a punter who wanted top-dawg-dollars. That's 3.8% of the 2020 cap. Care to explain how 3.8% is a significant "contributing cause" to being up against the cap without paying the QB/top receiver? I mean, that's basically like "cut Trent Murphy last year instead of paying him to sit, Covered It" level. If we're looking for significant cap management issues that interfere with paying the QB and his top receiving target, paying high dollar to an 11 man rotation of primarily free agent defensive linemen ($52M in 2020 per Spotrac, #1 in the league) is a far more significant issue. That's 24% of the cap right there on 11 guys, and only 3 home-grown talents among the top 8 man rotation. And none of them appear able to consistently "affect the QB" against the top OLs in the league. ST looks like "chump change" to me by NFL standards, but also an area where the Bills may be pulling their belt in a bit this year - we'll see. The ST unit is already primarily rookies and vet minimum guys, but the good teams all seem to have a handful of core "specialists" whose job it is to educate the rest on the details of their roles and herd the the cats into line.
