  1. To be fair, it's not all the players who have workout bonuses. I think I counted, of the Bills top 51 salaries, 30 of them have workout bonuses. Paradoxically, I think it's the guys at the bottom of the roster who most benefit to be there - gives them more time getting the scheme down and more time in the eyes of the coaches and staff.
  2. Well, in any altercation, there's a chance that either or both parties may face charges. In the "boomer sooner" thing, the MMA guys were advised to get a lawyer....I could be wrong, but I don't think that was because they planned to sue, I think it was because they were advised they themselves could be charged with assault, and they needed to make sure they didn't mis-step and screw themselves and that they had all the evidence to defend themselves.
  3. I dunno about the one amazing college play but I tend to agree about his NFL record. Has not lived up to his billing. But on a 1 year deal, maybe he'll "turn it on" for a payday I don't think that's who the Bills are looking for right now.
  4. I thought the issue at this point was criminal charges for assault, not filing a lawsuit. Do you have a link about a lawsuit being filed? As for the Boomer Sooner or Schooner, the DA declined to file charges against any of them. I put an update in the relevant thread. I guess Jones can sue if he wants, but I haven't heard if he is or not. Well both of those are best conducted in settings other than a bar
  5. I mean "a playmaker on either side of the ball" seems a pretty general assertion for a team that has its QB, its WR1, and its CB1 in place, and was successful last year. Well, we need to get more pressure/pass rush from somewhere, and unless you think Efe Obada is "it", FA didn't do it for us. On OL we obviously added a lot of pieces to provide either depth or competition. Ditto LB. Not so much on DL, especially at Edge. Daboll has on a couple of occasions made the point that there's only one 1st round pick on the offensive side of the ball. I think Beane would disagree and point to Stefon Diggs, but the point remains that the Bills seem to have more high round picks invested in D than in O.
  6. No charges will be filed https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2021/03/viral-bathroom-fight-walker-brown-okalhoma-football-player-no-charges-filed To @Buffalo716 point, it seems that contrary to Spencer Jones attorney's position, after collecting evidence about the whole incident and not just what was on video, the DA concluded he "got what he was looking for"
  7. No, that's when you "chug-a-lug and shout" and "let it all hang out" 😇 Looks like he's wearing a sling, too.
  8. The official recommendation is if you have received convalescent plasma or monoclonal antibody infusion treatment for covid-19, wait 90 days. If you have not, get vaccinated as soon as you are "clinically recovered" and out of isolation. Anecdotally some people who have had covid-19 report that they react to the first shot as though it is the second shot, with more of them feeling bad. Waiting 90 days seems prudent to me after a symptomatic illness, unless you're in a high risk profession or have other pressing reasons to be vaccinated sooner. Recover fully and get your strength back, let your immune system calm the ***** down, then boost it. I think it's more random than that. 3 female neighbors, no symptoms. Friend, got "flu like' symptoms but so did her hubby.
  9. My kid and her BF got Moderna. No reactions beyond a sore arm to #1. So far. Kid is believed to have had covid-19 last year (sick, no test due to scarcity, antibody test positive 3 weeks later).
  10. I’m not doubting you, but why do players dislike OTAs when they’re doing more (most of them) on their own?
  11. After watching that commercial, I had to go rewatch this. AaaaaaaaaaaAaaaaah!!!!
  12. I dunno how most of the Bills players see it, but I know Jon Feliciano retweeted the NFLPA memo with "players unite" and a clenched fist over it. I also know a lot of the players are working out together at gyms and private facilities all around the country because they share stuff on Instagram about it. When I see videos posted, I don't see masks or distancing and I'm pretty sure there isn't regular testing.
  13. I ***** give up. We've had pictures of vaccinated people as sheep, insulting vaccinated people as all obese, communism, socialism blah blah blah on the other hand calling unvaccinated people dumb, saying people who deny covid can't count to three, and so forth. This is a reasonable football-related topic but we're obviously not able to discuss it in a reasonable way and I need to do other things than "ride herd" on it
  14. 1) Vaccination provokes your body to make an adaptive immune response. This generates "actual" antibodies. Honest! 2) The vaccine would not be effective if, in fact, antibodies in response to the vaccine were "much less effective in 100% of instances". This is a statement made without data or scientific support. 3) Most viruses in fact have mechanisms to suppress the immune system and Sars-CoV2 is one of the sneakier bastards, so it's generally believed that the immune response from being vaccinated is stronger and more effective than the "natural" immune response, especially to a mild or asymptomatic infection. You can't count "all positive cases" over the last year as having antibodies, because there are studies and data showing that especially in the case of asymptomatic infections the antibodies are gone in 3-6 months (whether antibodies are what actually matter to the adaptive immune response to Sars-CoV2 is another question) 4) The problem with herd immunity by natural infection with an RNA virus is that infected people serve as natural incubators for viral mutations. Immunity then runs a footrace with developing variant strains that will be able to end-around immunity. Be easier if one weren't seeing pictures of sheep posted by people who oppose vaccination and hearing about "obedience level" and "crumbs dropped by government" etc etc. Just the point that the insult-slinging is not unidirectional.
  15. Back in my day, we understood that the reason vaccination is called a 'public health issue' is because to break transmission, enough of the public needs to be vaccinated therefore it's a decision we make for the public good. Make whatever decision you want, but please stop defending it on the grounds that "I'm personally not going to die so whaddo I care?" As for whaddo we all care, we care because maths say with a 70% or 90% effective vaccine and a still widely circulating disease, vaccinated people can still get sick.
  16. Excelsior Pass program will need to be expanded significantly before it would be practical to use for something like stadium admission: "At this time, Passes may only be retrieved for COVID-19 vaccinations or negative test results received in the State of New York." My guess is the clinical trial doesn't count as "received in the State of New York" but there will surely be a lot of NYS residents who were vaccinated elsewhere, as well as residents of other states who wish to attend.
  17. The NFL has said it will not be requiring the vaccine. However, it wouldn't be a surprise if they would have alternatives, and the alternatives be not particularly palatable. Like you can either get the vaccine, OR continue with last year's restrictions
  18. Yeah, that's kind of what it's like. Long two-lane access road that feeds straight into the highway.
  19. Got a link? Edit: OK I found one But my guess is that if the prosecutors wanted to, they could come up with additional crimes and charges: -reckless driving? -endangering a child? -attempted manslaughter? Not a lawyer, it just seems that when prosecutors really want to get someone, they find additional charges.
