His cap hit is $1.5M, with $1M in salary, $0.3M in signing bonus, and $0.2M in roster bonus. But Spotrac reports him as having $800M guaranteed, which would probably mean that half of his salary is guaranteed. Addison's salary is being reported by Overthecap as "fully guaranteed". This is not uncommon when a player takes a haircut - they want to get something in return, and a lower, but fully guaranteed, salary is usually that thing. So if we cut Addison, it will actually COST us cap as he still has a void year extending his signing bonus through next season. Jerry Hughes is the one who can be cut with significant cap savings. This is the last year of his contract, so he can be cut with $6.3M of cap savings. Darryl Johnson has a cap hit of $0.874M with savings of >$0.8M if cut Or, there may not be clues - certainly last year, the Bills were willing to roster/dress/activate less expensive players over more expensive players (Murphy etc)

One thing I've noticed is if you listen carefully to Beane, he'll often say what he means and mean what he says. Breadcrumbs he dropped: -saying scouts having to go back to 2019 to watch film -saying that at 30, we may draft a guy we expect to develop a year behind players on the last year of their contracts -saying that if there's someone they like on the board, they may well stand pat and pull the trigger vs. counting on a guy to be there if they trade back

Well, if we're going to be all sensible and stuff, even the top of the first round is pretty much a coin-flip for locking in a starter.

I agree with the above. I was thinking that - when the Bills are drafting in the top 10, much easier to decide who they want. We'll see I guess. I am under-impressed with the notion.
