  1. Is Sherlock your burner account? That's typical. The General Managers on TBD typically think that various players suck and can be traded for 2nd round picks. At the same time, we believe we can acquire talented players off other rosters for a 5th or 6th rounder.
  2. 1) FDA approves Pfizer vaccine for 12-15 yr olds https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2021/05/10/993591902/hold-fda-oks-pfizer-covid-19-vaccine-for-12-15-age-group There are 3 essential steps: 1. 3. As far as I know, the League can appoint an "independent investigator" who takes as long as they want it to take, and only announce the punishment after the investigation is complete. No that's wrong. If the player is suspended, they won't get paid and their amortized signing bonus for the suspended games must be repaid to the team. The "owie!" you may be thinking of is if a player is placed on the "Commissioner's Exempt List". That screws the team, as the player still gets paid but the team doesn't get their services.
  4. Agree with the first sentences. Deep throws are a gap, but IMO we were hindered last season by missing John Brown (and having him not be himself when he came back). Davis isn't fast enough. McKenzie can't track the ball well enough. Diggs can play deep - he certainly did in 2019 'sota - but when Allen was under duress, the Bills wound up playing him on short to intermediate routes along with Beas (see Pitts game). They tried Brown in that role when he lacked his top-end speed coming back but he can't get open against physical coverage. IMO part of the Bills plan in signing Sanders is to have someone else they can put in that "short stuff" role to free Diggs to go deep. Whether that's a Good Plan or not remains to be seen. I don't know that I'd agree that it's his biggest weakness either. IMO Allen's biggest weakness is refusing to take what the defense offers him. They can offer him Motor or a TE in the flats with a 15 yd cushion and he'll be trying to find Diggs or Davis deep. Here's Josh passing chart off NFL next gen stats for last season. To my point, he is average or better on deep balls, and way below average on passes to the L in the flat. I think this is a bit of a simplified and revisionist picture - not that I fundamentally disagree Allen's deep ball wasn't the strength the Bills had hoped. But field position plays into it. (Also need to define what's "deep" mean to you for meaningful debate) Here are the Bills drive starts in the Colts game: The TD drive on the 2nd possession kicked off with a 36 yd pass to Diggs with no YAC. Most folks call that a deep ball. The TD drive on the 5th possession of the 1st half kicked off with a 37 yd shoestring sideline catch to Gabe Davis. Most folks call that a deep ball. Couple plays later another shoestring catch for 19 yds, technically not a deep pass but close. When you're backed up inside your own 10 yd line, it's generally hard to have the time to let deep balls develop. This is what Josh's passing looked like for the entire game. Most people would call a bunch of these deep passes. Did he miss a couple shots, yes, he did, but at 74% completion overall, not too many. The Ravens game, of course, was played in a windstorm and it's a point that Josh couldn't complete a deep ball:
  5. Interesting that several veteran players, including John Brown and Diggs, as well as our FO (Beane etc) have referenced how complicated the Bills offense is. There may be some other explanations than "the Bills offense is pretty simple and Daboll dumbed it down for Josh"
  6. [This is an automated response] This topic is no longer contributing positively to the community and therefore the discussion has been closed. Thank you.
  7. And on that note, looking at the last 10 posts, we have 2 related to the topic and a 3rd related to football. I do believe if Zach Ertz is actually traded or even released and signs elsewhere, it's time for......... a New Thread.
  8. Poor Jamil Douglas. No one can even remember the Bills signed him, and yet he's started 11 of the 46 NFL games he's played. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/04/02/bills-sign-jamil-douglas/
  9. Seems like the right place for this: https://www.stltoday.com/news/local/metro/bear-visits-ursuline-campus-churches-in-webster-groves-area-saturday/article_5c74267e-c0c7-57a6-8b83-7fc676af3687.html?fbclid=IwAR3ftNA0kTilk31M5A-UPKnQkSrHXEX4Lfh_FBEkbwjMOID5jV38wOlANLg#utm_campaign=blox&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social
  10. The Chargers liked him so much at LT they let him walk for $2.5M......which you don't do for a guy you think can start for you long-term.
  11. The Coltsies were running their backup LT when we played them. I think the "hard time" getting to Rivers had more to do with Rivers being an expert at decoding the Bills zone D, knowing who will likely be open where, and getting the ball out fast. Wentz is going to need more time.
  12. ? who are you seeing as the Ponies starting LT? Castanzo was a rock for them for years, but he missed 5 games last season including the playoffs, then he retired LT was a hole for them as far as I knew
  13. That's true on the YPT, but it's worth noting that by far more overall production came from LeSean McCoy - who was still a star, and only played in 12 games - and Tyrod Taylor. I think if you have great rungame production from a star, it makes it easier for the COP guys to get somewhere. JMO though. To your point, in games where we were able to "Block and execute" last year (Jets, Patriots, Chargers, Broncos), we ran just fine. My question is whether we've done enough that we'll be able to "Block and execute" against the better DLs this year.
  14. Still can't find it, but while I was looking found this from a year ago. Worth another look: and a Cover1 from March: Both worth some love!
  15. IIRC Diggs and Beas were both injured late in games we had well in hand wk 16 and 17
  16. Gronk had 2 known concussions in his injury history.  He also had three back surgeries for "herniated disc with nerve impingement", including one involving a fractured vertebrae. It's not like his injuries were all niggling or benign.
  17. Well, as @BADOLBILZ pointed out, some guys I woulda thought were wrecks, have come back from retirement (Gronkowski). But we have no inkling he wishes to return to play at this point.
  18. Er, isn't that the very premise of the OP for this entire thread? That by virtue of last season's showing and the off-season's additions, the Browns have moved past the Bills and are now the premier challenger to KC in the AFC?
  19. Perhaps this could serve as a roadmap for the gruntling process (I couldn't resist, sorry)
