  1. No. It is impossible for any of the current vaccines to cause a false positive on a diagnostic test for covid-19 disease. https://www.gavi.org/vaccineswork/can-you-test-positive-covid-19-test-after-getting-vaccine https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/facts.html https://www.goodrx.com/blog/testing-positive-for-covid-after-getting-vaccinated/ https://www.nebraskamed.com/COVID/you-asked-we-answered-will-the-vaccine-make-you-test-positive https://www.forbes.com/sites/coronavirusfrontlines/2021/02/26/could-vaccination-cause-me-to-test-positive-for-covid-19/ There Is No "not many verified answers" on this point. It's not possible and any reputable medical source will tell you so. The only way you would test positive is if you actually got infected with covid between being vaccinated and developing full immunity, or if there was a lab SNAFU causing a false positive PCR test.

  3. Thank you for Taking One for the Team and refraining! Put that jersey order in the Trash, Sir!
  4. Lots of good info in your post, Thanks for all that! Just going to hone in one one point - for the rookies, it's entirely appropriate to hone in on their draft reports and college film. But for a guy who's been around the league going on 7 years, my guess is it's not too illuminating. Douglas washed out in his second year on the Dolphins, his draft team. That's a pretty strong argument that he wasn't ready then. But when a guy manages to stick around the league on the practice squads of good teams - NE won the Superbowl in 2016, Falcons were a 10-6 playoff team in 2017, Titans were a solid team in 2018, and a top rushing team in 2019 and 2020 - it's probably a good bet that he's "shown something". I'm not even sure what one means when one says "hasn't shown much". Hasn't won himself a starting role, certainly, but he's been fighting his way into some starting time the last couple years. In general, playing guard in the NFL seems to me a position where "no news is good news" and people have to either love OL play or love the team to do a deep dive.
  5. I root for the team, but if there's a "feel good" story on the team it would have to be Efe Obada. What that guy lived through!
  6. I, too, wanted Creed Humphrey. But if you look at Daryl Williams contract, it's essentially a $9.75M/yr contract for 1 year (top-6 for a RT), structured as a 3 yr deal. I think the Beane-meister's thinking is: We used two draft picks as two "shots on goal" towards replacing Williams at RT at a lower cap hit. We can either move on from Williams next year, if either Brown or Doyle look ready to "step up" and take over at RT for a manageable $3.6M dead cap hit which essentially, is a deferral of this season's salary cap. Or, we have Williams locked down for 3 years if neither of them look "prime time" ready. Feliciano can play on either side and at center without missing a beat. He's not the greatest, but he's "rock steady" Ford, IMHO, they need to decide where they think he slots and leave him there. I'm by no means an expert, but I think this is conflating gap run blocking with power. And I don't think that's quite right. I think both blocking styles can involve power, but possibly zone more than gap since it's "block whoever comes into your orbit" But I'd rather hang up and listen while someone with more "sauce" explains. For example, Morse is no way a power guy, but was evaluated as a very effective Gap run blocker by the Cover1 guys last season. I think the Bills are pretty determined to have better run blocking however they get it. Morse job is probably safe this year bar injury, but I don't think either Feliciano or Ford are sho-ins. In addition to Lamp (who started 16 games at LG for the Bolts last year and 2 the year before) and Boettger (started 7 games for us last season) as returning vets, don't forget Jamil Douglas. Well, everyone else does, but don't you follow the crowd. 😆 He played >50% of the OL snaps for the Titans in 6 games of 2019 and 2 games of 2020 (5 starts). In between being a 4th round draft pick for the Dolphins in 2015 (who got cut next season), he kicked around on the Patriots***, Falcons, and Colts, which argues that he showed enough potential that teams kept keeping him around. And the Titans had a very good run blocking OL last season. Then there's Jordan Devey, who has actually started more games in the NFL than either Douglas or Lamp (21 starts, for NWE, SFO in '15, KC, and Oak) Then there's the plethera of rookie interior lineman - not only Jack Anderson, but UDFA Steven Gonzales (Penn State) and Syrus Tuitele (Fresno). Beane is clearly following the mantra "throw enough at the wall and something will stick" at OL as well as DL.
  7. This is sparking some good discussion, so Thank You for that! I do have to say that I feel "non biased" and "KC fans perspective" are probably oxymorons
  8. Kinda. They were without their starting LT. They moved their RT to LT, their LG to RT, and played a backup G in his place. But don't overlook the impact of KC's DBs being flagged for DPI or DH for play that looked about the same as the previous week.
  9. So Riddle Me This. Up until 2017, that was NOT the perception of Reid, and even in 2017 and to some extent 2018, Reid was regarded as a steady regular-season coach who was not "Good Enough" to win the Big Game. I believe it was Tony Dungy who said flat out in 2017 "the Kansas City Chiefs may win the Superbowl, but it won't be with Andy Reid at Head Coach" [Well Hey Y'all Watch This] https://sportsnaut.com/kansas-city-chiefs-super-bowl-andy-reid/ Either Reid suddenly acquired magical wizard properties, or coaches, like players, have the ability to improve themselves. It's also possible that coordinators matter and that Eric Bienemy > Matt Nagy and that Steve Spagnuolo > Bob Sutton
  10. Summarizing: better TE play, better "speed/burner" WR play, better run blocking, better DL pressure Observations from which I derive that: 1) TE Travis Kelce vs Buffalo zone D. Mahomes knew just how to manipulate the Bills zone D to find gaps, and Kelce knew how to fill those gaps and make catches. 2) "Cheetah" Hill vs Bills CB coverage 3) Chiefs running game and dink-n-dunk passing game - they could run it when they needed to - this was pretty much the story of in-season win 4) Bills inability to pressure the QB vs the 2020 standard KC OL (it was decimated during the SB with the LT out and 3 guys playing out of position) 5) Chiefs ability to stifle 3 injured WR with "sticky" press-man coverage 6) Chiefs ability to pressure the QB and limit the time the wideouts had to beat it 7) Bills lack of strong TE play and pass-catching RB play to force the Chiefs out of Dime 1) the Chiefs were playing without their LT, and did so by having 3 OLmen playing different positions. The Bucs arguably have a better pass rushing/pressuring DL than the Bills and combining that with KC having to play the JV on OL meant Mahomes was playing "run, Rabbit, run!" 2) for whatever reason, the referees were calling DPI and DH on the Chiefs DB. Theories on why this changed, abound
  11. I'll give it a try and maybe someone will chime in to correct me and add more: RUNNING BACK (4): Devin Singletary, Zack Moss, Matt Breida, Taiwan Jones [not listed: Christian Wade, whose best shot at the roster is probably KR/PR] WIDE RECEIVER (6): Stefon Diggs, Emmanuel Sanders, Cole Beasley, Gabriel Davis, Isaiah McKenzie [potential KR/PR], Isaiah Hodgins [not listed: Brandon Powell, KR/PR for the Falcons last year; Marquez Stevenson fast rookie and potential KR/PR] TIGHT END (3): Dawson Knox, Jacob Hollister, Tommy Sweeney [not listed: Reggie Gilliam, played 44-75% of ST snaps 2nd half of last season] OFFENSIVE LINE (9): Dion Dawkins, Daryl Williams, Jon Feliciano, Mitch Morse, Cody Ford, Ike Boettger, Spencer Brown, Tommy Doyle, Ryan Bates DEFENSIVE LINE (10): Jerry Hughes, Mario Addison, A.J. Epenesa, Boogie Basham, Greg Rousseau, Star Lotulelei, Ed Oliver, Vernon Butler, Efe Obada, Harrison Phillips [Not listed: Darryl "Bam" Johnson, played 44-78% of the ST snaps last year unless injured] LINEBACKER (6): Tremaine Edmunds, Matt Milano, A.J. Klein, Tyrell Adams, Tyler Matakevich, Tyrel Dodson [Not listed: Andre Smith, 53-75% of ST snaps last year] DEFENSIVE BACKS (10): Tre’Davious White, Levi Wallace, Dane Jackson, Taron Johnson, Rachad Wildgoose, Siran Neal, Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Jaquan Johnson, Damar Hamlin SPECIALISTS (3): Tyler Bass, Matt Haack, Reid Ferguson Last year on the Bills: Andre Roberts, Taiwan Jones, Reggie Gilliam, Darryl Johnson, Tyler Matakevich, Andre Smith and Siran Neal made the active game day roster primarily IMHO for their Special Teams chops. So 7 guys primarily there for ST, though Gilliam, Matakevich, and Smith played well on offense or defense when they got the opportunity. Johnson saw his defensive snaps rise to 40% towards the end of the season, but then fall back to 20% or inactive (vs the Ravens) during the playoffs. The draft and FA acquisitions seem to say the Bills are looking to upgrade there.
  12. https://www.instagram.com/stories/dawsonknox/2603465382056781845/ I think you need instagram to see this. Question for all the route running gurus here - is Knox supposed to touch his hand down like that when he reverses direction or was that a slip? More shots of TE University: https://www.instagram.com/stories/te_university/2603381605458156267/ (if anyone knows how to pull a video off an Instagram story and save it, PM me)
  13. Hughes is, IMO, a better player than Addison though in reining in his "crazy Gary" he may have lost a bit of his edge, too. But I don't think that means McDermott keeps just one. There's a lot to see in training camp. The message is clear on the DL: come into camp in the best shape of your life, and we're bringing in 3 guys for every position who are gonna try to do your job better than you do. Injuries may happen; we hope they won't. Illness may happen; we hope it won't. But other things being equal, what have McDermott and Frazier done to give the impression they will only keep one veteran DE or DT? Look at last year where they kept Murphy on the roster all season, even at the cost of $7M or so they could have realized if they cut him. And there are not even cap savings to be had by cutting Butler or Addison. Myself, I think that McDermott needs to "get over" keeping so many veteran players at different positions primarily for their special teams play. We are gonna cut guys who have potential at their primary position and could develop, like Antonio Williams or C Wade, in favor of veterans like Taiwan Jones. Which is OK for 1 or maybe 2 players, but then we're gonna repeat that theme over and over and over again throughout the roster - LB, DE, S, maybe TE etc. At some point, the gift of a talented ST coach is to be given 1-2 key players and otherwise told to coach the depth and rookies into a servicable ST squad
  14. I think you can safely bet that Trubisky is vaccinated. He's playing for his next contract, which means his best opportunity to showcase his abilities and win his next opportunity will come if Allen is unable to play due to injury, illness, or quarantine under NFL rules. No Way does Mitch want the headlines to read "Josh Allen on Covid-19 list; Mitch Trubisky quarantined as close contact. Jake Fromm (or Davis Webb) to start against the KC Chiefs." If not before, as soon as the NFL announced that vaccinated players don't need to quarantine as close contacts, Mitch rolled up his sleeve.
  15. If you're talking about what McDermott places value on, you can't mention value on ST without mentioning value on veteran leadership in each room, to the point of keeping players who barely see the field. To argue that Bam Johnson is more valuable than Addison because he has higher value on ST and McBeane value ST play, you have to acknowledge other aspects that McBeane have shown they value. We hope Addison will be pushed down the depth chart, but unless he comes into camp unfit, that time is "not yet"
  16. Addison's renegotiated contract is a bit tough to understand, but the bottom line seems to be it costs almost as much in dead cap to keep him as to cut him, because $2M of his $4M salary is now fully guaranteed and he has $2M of his signing bonus split into a void year next season....so the $2M salary saved by cutting him is offset by accelerating the signing bonus into this season. Plus, Frazier seems to like to play veterans and ease rookies in, maybe too slowly. So unless one of the rookies just comes in, masters the playbook, and plays like his ass is on fire and sacks/TFL will put it out, I think Addison stays. And even then, they'll want to hedge their bets. It's a tough conundrum the Bills have set up for themselves. But if I were a vet, I wouldn't come to camp assuming I can coast. Not saving money wouldn't stop Beane from sending the Turk, I think. A couple points: If the Bills want to hang on to all their rookies and some younger talent, at some point they're going to have to pick and choose who they keep for special teams. We have Taiwan Jones, Siran Neal, Bam (Daryl) Johnson, Andre Smith, and Tyler Matakevich all primarily on the team for their ST abilities. I really liked how Matakevich played in the 3 games where he got some defensive snaps. Andre Smith, not so much in the 1st NWE game but thought he did well against Miami (counterpoint that they were kinda heading for the bus in the 2nd half). Beane went out of his way to praise Daryl Johnson in his presser. But Maybe, just Maybe, they're gonna need to lighten up on the ST load. What do the Bills typically keep? 10? DEFENSIVE LINE (10): DE: Jerry Hughes, Mario Addison, A.J. Epenesa, Boogie Basham, Greg Rousseau, Efe Obada, DT: Star Lotulelei, Ed Oliver, Vernon Butler, Harrison Phillips Matt P's projected cuts: Justin Zimmer, Darryl Johnson, Mike Love, Bryan Cox Jr., Brandin Bryant, Treyvon Hester, Eli Ankou This is one of the biggest "I don't know what's gonna happen" positions to me. This is a point. I suspect a couple promising young OL and DL may develop an injury.
  17. Imma leave that one...just backing out of the room on tiptoe...nothing to see here... I don't think she's anywhere near 8 months old, but I think that's a shaved spot probably from spay surgery. I'm pretty sure I see a suture knot there.
  18. Look at that little face! Who could resist that face!
  19. I was just coming here to link this Here's the direct link, not through google: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/investigations/2021/06/24/building-collapse-miami-structure-had-been-sinking-into-earth/7778631002/ That doesn't mean the sinking is responsible for the collapse, of course, and when everything is investigated it wouldn't surprise me if there were a "storm" of interacting factors - maybe sinking combined with a structural design where floor supports could be "popped" off the support beams somehow.
  20. Really? How many snaps did Zimmer see at 1TDT last season? Discuss/justify. Given McD's love of DL rotation, if Butler and Phillips don't make it, AFAIK that would leave Star Lotulelei as the only 1TDT on the team. I don't see that happening. Who makes it instead? Again - why? Unless he lights the field on fire during preseason, I don't think the market will be hot for a former 5th round draft pick who didn't see the field last year and has a bit of baggage. He could be cut and placed on the PS. The Doyle thing is a puzzle to me - drafting him, plans for him, all of that stuff.
  21. I think you're misreading Zierlein's take. He says "He'll be scouted as a slot receiver, but is hindered by unfocused route-running and leggy strides that limit his suddenness to uncover quickly underneath" and "he will need to improve his toughness, pass-catching consistency and routes if he wants to make his mark in the pros." Now he could be the kind of guy who comes in hyper-focused and has been doing the right training and who gets to the point where he can do that, in a single off season. But many a rookie has recounted how being handed a pro playbook was like being handed the Chicago Phone Book and told to memorize it at first. That's why I don't think he's a realistic prospect to excel in the slot this year. I think he's going to be struggling to figure out which route to run, which variant to run depending on the defense, and how to run his route the exact same way every time so that he and the ball show up at the same place, same time (which is Beasley's gift) I think "Developmental prospect" means unless he makes the Bills as the KR/PR, he may well wind up on the Practice Squad. I, too, hope Beasley is there. On the other hand, I honestly don't see how McDermott and Beane can run a disciplined, unified team where one of the veteran leaders openly refuses to follow NFL protocols and not have it become a distraction.
  22. I think it's a bit tedious, me, but Your Kink is OK As far as Sanders last year, with the Ghost of Drew Brees and Taysom "I Can, Too, Play QB" throwing to him, looks pretty comparable to the productivity we got from John Brown and Cole Beasley last season. https://stathead.com/football/pcm_finder.cgi?player_id2=BrowJo02&p1yrfrom=2020&player_id1=SandEm00&p2yrfrom=2020&sum=0&request=1 Similar YPG, similar receptions/game, Brown 2 more Y/R not too surprising. Sanders played 14 games to Brown 9 https://stathead.com/football/pcm_finder.cgi?player_id2=BeasCo00&p1yrfrom=2020&player_id1=SandEm00&p2yrfrom=2020&sum=0&request=1 (click to embiggen) Less productive than Beas, but then, Beas was less productive with the 'Boys (1 year anomoly)than he was last 2 years with the Bills, so who knows?
  23. First loopback: differences and similarities to Joe Buscaglia's May 10 "Way Too Early Roster Prediction" (Differences bolded) https://theathletic.com/2572068/2021/05/10/bills-53-man-roster-projection-a-way-way-too-early-look-at-what-the-team-may-look-like-in-2021/ Quarterback (3): Josh Allen, Mitchell Trubisky, Jake Fromm Running back (4): Zack Moss, Devin Singletary, Matt Breida, Taiwan Jones Wide receiver (6): Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, Gabriel Davis, Emmanuel Sanders, Isaiah McKenzie, Isaiah Hodgins Tight end (3): Dawson Knox, Jacob Hollister, Tommy Sweeney Offensive line (9): Dion Dawkins, Cody Ford, Mitch Morse, Jon Feliciano, Daryl Williams, Ike Boettger, Ryan Bates, Spencer Brown, Tommy Doyle Defensive end (6): Jerry Hughes, Mario Addison, A.J. Epenesa, Greg Rousseau, Boogie Basham Jr., Darryl Johnson Defensive tackle (4): Ed Oliver, Star Lotulelei, Vernon Butler, Justin Zimmer Linebacker (5): Tremaine Edmunds, Matt Milano, A.J. Klein, Tyler Matakevich, Andre Smith Cornerback (6): Tre’Davious White, Levi Wallace, Dane Jackson, Taron Johnson, Siran Neal, Rachad Wildgoose Safety (4): Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Jaquan Johnson, Damar Hamlin Specialists (3): Tyler Bass (K), Matt Haack (P), Reid Ferguson (LS) I think it's interesting to compare the takes because it helps highlight the areas where there seems to be the most uncertainty about what the Bills will do: DE DT LB However, I don't think the moves at WR, TE, and DB are as "locked in" as this "lock step" agreement in the media would have us think. -I'm not so sure Sweeney is a "shoo-in" for the roster or that they're ready to move on from Gilliam -I think we're going to see at least one, maybe two, surprises at WR -I'm not sure Cam Lewis meets the Turk Training camp can't get here soon enough for me!
