  1. Under McBeane, the Bills overall have kept their 6th round picks at least for one year. 2017: Tanner Vallejo (released during final cut downs next year) 2018 Ray-Ray McCloud (released during final cut downs next year) 2019 Jaquan Johnson (still on roster, probable roster “lock” as backup safety) 2020 Tyler Bass. Bass-o-matic, ‘nuff said 2020 Isaiah Hodgins (last season on IR) So that would be an argument in favor of your point. On the opposite point, in 2017 and 2018 the roster depth was much less, whereas this year it seems deeper - I don’t see Vallejo or McCloud staying on this year’s roster, do you? Eyeball, it looks like in the bottom half of the 6th round (where the better teams draft) it’s about 2/3:1/3
  2. That would be Pork of the Piggiest kind if so. Infrastructure is supposed to be stuff like highways, bridges, storm sewers, etc.
  3. The thing is, if they're playing different systems, people who know football know that it's a bit of an apples to oranges comparison. I thought Houston looked good in Indy last season, but he's played predominantly in a 3-4 system all his career until Indy. Last I knew that's what Wink runs in Baltimore. For all we know, Houston had offers from 4-3 teams but was looking to return to his 3-4 roots.
  4. Just a little note that for most of Houston's career, including the first two numbers on your list, he was playing LOLB in a 3-4 defense. Also a little note that while Addison definitely did not have the year he was expected to have last year, based on his previous results: 9.5 sacks 11 sacks 9.5 sacks 9 sacks 5 sacks If you're bringing out 8-11 sack years in previous years and different systems to argue he's "twice the player Addison is" I don't think that argument really holds up.
  5. That’s pretty much how I see it myself. I appreciate that the Pegulas bought the Bills and built a marvelous new training center and hired a GM and coach who seem to have turned the thing around. But they are multi-billionaires with mansions and a yacht. If they need $1.54 billion of taxpayer money as the price of keeping the team in Buffalo , Nuts.
  6. Sal Capaccio’s take on the practice. Similar Kumerow love Similar comments to the effect of “Dawkins, we Miss You, Get Well Soon!” https://www.audacy.com/wgr550/sports/bills/bills-practice-in-front-of-thousands-at-highmark-stadium
  7. Matthew Fairburn Athletic artcle I think there are a few hints that the Bills may be using stadium practices in front of fans to do some roster evaluation. Ryan Bates, who is still here, filled in for Dawkins in a couple of games last season and looked capable. I’m told Bobby Hart looked lost out there. Spencer Brown is still learning. (Fairburn doesn’t mention Bates in his article) If the answer is “Bobby Hart”, I’m not sure what the question was Bolded echoed some points guys have made here. I wasn’t impressed by the video clips of his TD catch - he bobbled the catch and created an “air ball” he himself hauled in, but in live action that could easily become an INT. OTOH it’s interesting what Jackson has to say about Kumerow’s speed. I think the concern for Kumerow in GB was that he caught some passes then he kind of disappeared for the rest of the 2019 games he played in, indicating that once teams had some film on him they erased him. But of course, a player can take that experience and figure out what they have to improve, and do it, which may be something Kumerow has done.
  8. You said you “hated the pick”....maybe you’re different, but most people who hate something, are putting some energy into it.
  9. I don't even think it's a matter of energy, it's a matter of understanding data and track record...let's pick a team which I believe most people would acknowledge to have a long track record of drafting well. I'm gonna take the Baltimore Ravens. Picks since 2016 include Matt Judon (Whoooop whooop!), Jermaine Eluemunor (still in league with Dolphins after stint with NE), Jordan Lasley (never played a down), Daylon Mack (has bounced around 5-6 team practice squads), and Broderick Washington Jr. The latter showed some promise and was seeing playing time last year, but made the news this spring for the wrong reasons: https://www.arlnow.com/2021/03/17/new-baltimore-ravens-player-arrested-in-arlington/ So basically you have a star, a dud, two fringe players who have seen playing time (one may be a head-case), and a perennial PS candidate. That's quintessential Round 5 stuff, right there: about 20% odds of getting a good to great player, maybe 50-50 odds overall of getting a guy who might develop into a guy who can play in the NFL, if he can dedicate himself to improving and keep his head in the right place.
  10. Whippersnapper Well, most round 5 picks do have a short league lifetime....at any position. The Bills picked him because by the end of the 5th round, he was sticking up on their draft board, and they knew they needed an upgrade at backup QB, nothing wrong with taking a shot for that in the 5th IMO.
  11. Where did you get this information that we can't counter? As far as I know, it's incorrect - if another team makes an offer to your practice squad guy, you ARE allowed to match it (but the same restrictions about needing to put the player on the active roster for 3 weeks apply) I think angst about PS'ing Fromm is another Fosteresque Bills Fan-ism. Other teams passed on him at least 4x. There's a new crop of promising QB from this year's draft. Here's his draft profile for reference: https://www.nfl.com/prospects/jake-fromm/32004652-4f32-5139-dbcd-9c79c7f41e56 For reference, bear in mind that Davis Webb was a 3rd round pick in 2017. Correct
  12. This did not quite go where I expected.....heh
  13. Er, don't they have Mac Jones? NBC says he's been very impressive the first three days of training camp https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/patriots/mac-jones-shares-impressions-patriots-qb-competition-training-camp
  14. If you told your wife she needed a spanking would you be ducking?
  15. Enchanting! Then if Tua looks so marvelous, all the talk of how the Dolphins are trying to deal for Watson must be baloney, yes?
  16. Yikes, that's a huge setback for any potential career. They.Aren't.Even.Wearing.Pads.Yet
  17. I can't figure out how to link to it directly, but NFL Network interview is up on NFL Network. About halfway down their training camp coverage https://www.nfl.com/network/events/nfl-training-camp
  18. I thought she had a point 🤷‍♂️ I mean, it's a great throw, whoo hoo - but we knew after last season Josh can make amazing throws. The question is, can the defense do its part and can we have enough run game that we're not so one dimensional. Steak and potatoes
