  1. That's not long-haul and not going to explain the diff. here, But yes, he probably does have some lingering effects. For example Myles Garrett said he had lasting pulmonary symptoms and needed to work with a pulmonologist and was still getting out of breath for months; Von Miller (who caught during off-season) said it took him a while to get his conditioning back and was rough for a while. Dawson Knox said he was really winded the first week+ or so back. Some top athletes (Olympic rowers) who had Covid said it dropped them back to the ergometer level of a talented HS student for about a month. Not all that many NFL players had Covid during the season. The NFL did a really good job last year. And of course if recovery takes a while during the off-season, we don't know.
  2. Sweeney in a walking boot? Ugh! Didn't he miss last summer's training camp with a foot injury that lingered into the season? Yeah, well, considering it's been reported: https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-roundup-latest-training-camp-news-from-wednesday-aug-11?campaign=Twitter_atn If the Bills have only gone up " a little bit", that's....Paltry
  3. It was a Joe B article in the Athletic and no, @ColoradoBills, it showed offense and defense but not ST.
  4. Let's not go there. That's a specific syndrome. He's testing negative or he wouldn't be back.
  5. "Figure skating...Ice hockey...Why not have Both?" - remember those commercials? It's a fact that McDermott called out Dawson Knox for coming back from Covid fat and underconditioned - gently, but called him out. Since now there is a vaccine, if Dawkins chose not to take it and was seen out in the community interacting with lots of people at his charity give-aways - if there are lingering problems I wouldn't bet a nickel against McDermott being Really Really Pissed.
  6. Pretty sure Beane said both Boettger and Dawkins tested positive, one symptomatic one not. Boettger returned to practice on the NFL's minimum timeline for an asymptomatic vaccinated player who tests negative 2x 24 hrs apart. Dawkins took I think a couple days longer than the minimum for an unvaccinated player. Frankly, I thought Dawkins looked pretty bad at OTAs - overweight and under-conditioned. Then it's pretty well documented that Covid with mild symptoms can cause athletes lasting pulmonary problems that take months to recover from. We are in Deep Kim Chee without Dawkins.
  7. And the Bills actually cut: offensive lineman Marquel Harrell offensive lineman Caleb Benenoch offensive lineman Syrus Tuitele defensive tackle Eli Ankou linebacker Mike Bell. Congrats to @Back2Buff who got 2 out of 5 Congrats to me, I got 2 out of 5 on my first pass On further review, decided not Becker or McCloud but instead Tuitele and Ankou So we count "on second thought" I got 4 out of 5. I do NOT get credit for Mike Bell, who I thought made some plays in his limited snaps on Fri. Any props due to anyone else?
  8. He came from the Saints, where he was TE coach and assistant HC He has a relatively short coaching pedigree - TE coach, interim HC, and assistant HC and that's about it. Oh, now that last is a thought.
  9. The Bills have always wanted to keep a swing tackle as their backup. So the question they've been trying to answer is "can Hart be a servicable swing tackle?" and I think the answer is pretty clearly "no". I don't know - in theory, Nsekhe could play LT but he was clearly better at the right, and they kept him. I expect Beane to be watching the cut-out bin for someone who can, especially as they may not want to cut Doyle.
  10. So, Grasshopper. The "All one shot the week before the season" started when? (real question - I don't remember, just this past season?) There used to be two cuts, one to 72 midway through preseason, then a final cut to 53. At one point I think there were three. I think the "one big cut the week before the season" worked out badly for a lot of young players, no time to get a shot elsewhere. I think the idea of having cuts in stages is to give some of these guys a chance to catch on with a roster that is weaker at that position.
  11. That put the De in Deja Vu for me Also eerie similarity to that beautiful deep bomb to Stevenson from Nate Fromm.
  12. Am I the only one who didn't know that Duck Hodges is now playing for the LA Rams?
  13. Then why are you "pissed" about how we used our 2nd round pick?
  14. "Laces Out, Bojo" Wonder how Bojo's doing for the Rams? He's not assured a roster spot, competing against Hekker Wonder if the Rams have noticed his holding problems and if that will weigh into the competition.
  15. There is no corner on God's Planet who can cover Kelce and the KC WR in the absence of strong pressure from the Starting DL. We needed an upgrade on DL. My concern is whether we got enough. Beane will be on the lookout and if they feel they need more depth at corner, they will pick someone up during roster cuts.
  16. I think you should write an indignant letter to McDermott informing him of your dissatisfaction with the play calling on the first 2 series. Next.
  17. Unsure about Bug Howard - I think he was a late addition to fill in when Hollister was injured, so he could go. Would be very surprised if Fromm or Hart were cut at this point.
  18. The Bills offensive line philosphy since McBeane have been here is that the backup OT has to play both sides, and the backup IOL has to be able to play C and both sides. I don't know that they're having Bates practice exclusively at C. Do you? How? The reason they had Bates at C exclusively most of yesterday's game was most likely a) their #1 (Morse) and #2 (Feliciano) were listed as "veteran rest" (did not play at all). Tyler Gauthier has been reported to be taking 3rd string C reps (at the Blue and Red scrimmage) but didn't play at all yesterday, which either means he's not up to speed OR they're under-impressed and he's leaving town Tues. and b) they're still trying to figure out the starting and backup IOL and wanted to give Ford, Boettger, Jamil Douglas, and Jordan Devey reps with a constant center point.
  19. I am impressed with you! Yes, he is one of them. He primarily stayed on the roster due to ST last season, but he wound up starting 2 games and seeing significant snaps in a couple more.
  20. Tell me, if a point sharpened itself in front of you, sauntered across the room in full view, and impaled itself in the floor 2.54 cm to the left of your R big toe, would you acknowledge it? Or no?
  21. It's the decision making, not the lack of zip that's at fault there.
