  1. https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/2021/08/who-is-steven-sims-bills-new-wr-could-play-isaiah-mckenzie-role-in-week-3-of-preseason-5-things-to-know.html
  2. Don't think we trade Addison to a division rival. Could be wrong.
  3. Stevenson was on the sidelines doing some drills today, a good sign. No visible brace or tape on his foot/ankle that I saw
  4. Apparently, it is here! As is getting an MRI And wearing a sling
  5. My general reaction to that list is a loud heartfelt "waaaaaah!" Really bummed about Phillips and Sweeney. Did Reid Ferguson practice?
  6. Before we get too enthused about the success as a punt returner, worth noting that he had 5 fumbles in 2020: 3 muffs, one fumble on a return, and one fumble after a pass reception. So in his 2nd year, 3 muffs and one fumble in 24 punt returns over 12 games. 1 fumble in 32 kick returns in his first year. I get your point that a shoulder injury can be serious McKenzie reported out on the sideline in "good spirits" which doesn't quite sound like "I need surgery for potentially career ending injury" Course I suppose Boselli might not have realized he had a serious injury right away either.
  7. Is a "shoulder sprain" different than a "separated shoulder"? https://nyboneandjoint.com/blog/how-long-does-it-take-for-a-sprained-shoulder-to-heal/ I guess the question is the grade of the sprain and whether it requires surgery I think a "separated shoulder" or AC joint sprain is what Allen had, and his apparently (judging by how long it took the shoulder brace to come off) lasted about 4 weeks. But he got up and ran off right away, so McKenzie's may be worse (or Josh Allen may have higher pain tolerance)
  8. That actually wouldn't be the dumbest move by the Bills at this point
  9. For those who don't know, BangedUpBills is Dr Kyle Trimble, a physical therapist who tracks and comments on Bills injuries as best he can from available info. What I think he's saying is that clearly something is hurt in his shoulder, but merely from the fact that Lil Dirty is wearing a sling, it's hard to tell whether we're talking about a 2-4 week injury vs. season ending IR. Who, Roberts or Lawson?
  10. Dude, no, have you never had an MRI? They don't let you take anything that might have any kind of metal in there, and the technicians don't bother with trying to sort that out - they send you in there with a hospital gown, a tube for oxygen if you need it, and some kind of ear protection/music Don't try to game the system either, the strong magnetic fields could easily scramble your electronics/screen
  11. Well...he isn't listed on the Buffalobills.com roster There isn't a recent transaction with a Tre Walker on Buffalobills.com *rummage* *rummage* *rummage* Looks as though he signed with the Bills as an UDFA on May 13th: 05/13 Signed undrafted free agents CB Olaijah Griffin, CB Nick McCloud, TE Quintin Morris, S Tariq Thompson, OL Syrus Tuitele and WR Tre Walker. Also signed OL Steven Gonzalez and LB Mike Bell. Curiously, when I searched the Buffalobilss.com transactions page online, there was NOT an indication of him being released on the Bills site But, I found this: https://buffalowdown.com/2021/05/26/buffalo-bills-sign-wr-lance-lenoir-release-wr-tre-walker/ Evidently we *had* a UDFA rookie named Tre Walker on the roster for just under 2 weeks, and we released him to sign Lance Lenoir. The Bills transaction page shows Lance Lenoir being released today, but curiously also doesn't show a transaction for when they signed him. Perhaps the person who maintains the page was on vacation, or playing Everquest or something that day. Anyway, there's your answer: he was with the Bills for a cup of coffee in mid to late May, and has been gone since.
  12. I have no idea who Tre Miller is so you may know something I don't. We had 12 WR, with the names in red presumed unavailable because known to be injured/not practicing before today: Diggs Sanders Beasley Davis McKenzie Kumerow Hodgins Powell Stevenson Gentry Williams Lenoir Now we have Diggs Sanders Beasley Davis McKenzie Kumerow Hodgins (may practice this week) Powell Stevenson Gentry Gafford My guess is in this game, we see some early Kumerow, then a lot of Powell and Gentry with a splash of Gafford towards the end. Thats ASSuming we predict McKenzie will be available for the opener, otherwise we may bubble-wrap Powell as the new return guy. I'm also wondering if we might see more (1,2) or (2,1) sets with either 2 TE or with Gilliam as fullback. We may also see Breida (5 KR for SF) or Kerrith Whyte returning some kicks (he did in college, and has 14 KR in the NFL).
  13. Summary of Bills Covid-19 Transactions 8/24 On the Covid-19 list as close contacts: Beasley Butler Davis Lotulelei Due Back (with continued negative tests): 5 days from last contact (contact could be today or previous to today - Monday or Sunday) Update: Beane's presser stated that "1 or 2" of the players could be back for Saturday's game Sent home today pending clarification of contact status: Klein Milano Due Back: tomorrow
  14. It's an interesting question. Maybe some of our former football players can comment. I have the impression that tolerance for contact is a learned response, but whether it has to be re-learned every season or whether it carries over, I'm not clear.
  15. How so on Stevenson? If we want McKenzie back, we can't IR him before the final roster cutdowns. He has to make the initial 53, or he's out for the season. Also, last we heard, Stevenson had a foot or ankle injury. He was reported to be in civvies today and not practicing. No Hello, left Bears game for xrays, returned in walking boot, didn't practice Sun. or today?
  16. wellllllllllll......how do you *know* Josh never threw to Gafford? Josh did have >1 INT per game in 2016, he may have had >1 per practice
  17. It could be. Depends upon what the injury is and how long it will last. If it's season long, it's to his interest to reject an injury settlement. If he hopes he can catch on with another team as injuries mount, it's in his interest to accept a settlement.
  18. At least he has shown he can do it in the NFL. He wasn't a home run threat but he got the job done - mostly. He had 2 fumbles on 34 KR/PR for Atlanta in 2020 though. They were fumbles on returns, not muffs.
  19. Ugh. Well it's probably not a break, or they would probably have picked that up in the facility x-rays but... Stevenson is also injured.
  20. Epenesa was drafted in last year's 2nd round? I think he's a DE? So in Beane's first 3 drafts we have used 2018 3rd: Harrison Phillips (DT) 2019 1st: Ed Oliver (DT) 2019 7th: Darryl Johnson (DE) 2020 2nd: AJ Epenesa (DE) 2021 1st: Greg Rousseau (DE) 2021 2nd: Boogie Basham (DE) That's a lot of high draft picks on DL, even given that we expect the overall hit rate to be 1 in 2 or 1 in 3. Let's hope it starts to pay off at some point in the future. The VERY NEAR future.
  21. EDIT: link to current summary By request, we're gonna try this. Haven't heard from all the mods or the Green Guys yet. If @SDS doesn't approve, it will vanish. Rules are: 1) News about Covid protocol impact on Bills and next weeks' opponents ONLY. Anyone may add. Player, reason if known (contact or infected), timeline if known. Post tweets, links to articles, etc. 2) No commentary/critique on the wit and wisdom of the NFL protocols or on general covid stuff - vaccine effectiveness, relative chance of vaxxed/unvaxxed person getting covid 3) Read #2 again. This means "No" and this means YOU. 4) Read #2 for a third time. If you can't understand the words "No" and "You", don't post in this thread. If you do post other stuff here, cranky mods may suspend you from posting or even ban your ass. Simon sez “If you do take this thread off-topic, that jagoff Simon WILL suspend you with no questions asked or quarter given.” You have been told. Edit: Look, a couple guys suggested they wanted a thread where they could come and quickly get the info on NFL Covid actions affecting the Bills (Buffalo Bills players and their next opponent(s). I thought it was a reasonable ask, so let's try it. If you all want to use it to ask questions about who is vaccinated or to discuss almond milk or complain about "jailbait" (which seems to be the case from the number of posts we're having to hide), I really have no "skin" in this game - I can take it down and say "sorry Folks, we tried" and not lose any sleep.
  22. A possibility, but no communication on that point. This FO's motto is definitely "less is more" on the injury communication front, but with other guys they have said something.
