  1. He means his fat forefinger hit the "t" instead of the "r" on his tiny little cell phone keyboard
  2. GB had the #1 offense on points and the #5 offense on yards last season. Did we expect to walk all over them like Da Bears or Da Lions? Counterpoint, they are sitting The Man, but Jordan Love is strongly motivated to show he's not a mistake, he's well coached, and he's playing in the same system.
  3. For a backup long snapper who probably doesn't take too many reps, I'll Take It. I think that puts paid to any AJ might be traded talk
  4. We pack Allen and Beas and the rest of the starters back up in bubble wrap, right?
  5. I am not able to watch, but am I reading right that Snapflow is out, and AJ EPENESA is playing long snapper?
  6. His self-image is clearly that he's an Independent Thinker and Crusader for the Rights of the Voiceless and Downtrodden. That's Some *****, but it's psychologically powerful and hard to let go. He's also tweeted some hints of Conspiracy Stuff, and that's pernicious. Which, come to think of it, illustrates @JGMcD2's point upthread that "Demonizing people who aren’t vaccinated and admonishing those who take awhile to come around is just a bad idea all around." If a guy takes a public stance, it doesn't help his ability to change his mind if he knows he's going to take a ton of ***** if he changes that stance. It may not be a deciding factor, but it's there, like the lingering scent of a dead woodchuck. Just to be clear again, I repeatedly point out it's Beasley's choice to be unvaccinated and that some of the things he's saying are correct. I See No Lies. And it's his right to choose not to be vaccinated. But I hope he can be persuaded to Keep His Word, and Step Away from the Distraction of tweeting, as he said he would.
  7. This, both of them. Beasley has some valid concerns about the current NFL protocols. Testing vaccinated players and staff every 14 days is probably not often enough for the current situation - they get tested immediately if they have symptoms, but that means asymptomatic and presymptomatic infections go undetected. Allowing vaccinated players to circulate in the community and socialize with friends and families on road trips is also not a great idea for the current situation, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers found out. He also is tweeting a bunch of stuff that - how can I say this - is inserting himself into the midst of a contentious public debate and making himself the focus of media attention thereby - IOW, a distraction to the team and its goals. Oh, yes, and isn't supported by the NFL's own data.
  8. You were expanding on my point. And I agree with you. It all depends on one's goals. If the goal is to carry out the season, then demonizing and finger pointing are not helpful at all. The question is to look at the best current data and try to figure out, what's the best way to achieve the goal.
  9. Yes, exactly - "Beware the Wrath of a Patient Man" as the saying goes.
  10. Not exactly, it's used for something within your control. Someone explained it to me, it has to do with mapping verb tenses from some dialects of Spanish into English. Like "Don't tare me down, I'm registered!" means I'm 100% gonna go to the license bureau first thing tomorrow am. As opposed to "I'm gonna register the car" which means "I know it needs done and I might register in the next month (or not)." But I'll shut up now, because this could all be total BS, it was just a chat I had with some neighbors of my mom's about learning English.
  11. I think we've hashed this one out. If there's more news about the NFL/NFLPA negotiations on testing and vaccination we can start a new thread.
  12. He posted "I'm vaccinated, sir, please don't tare me down I'm sorry!" on August 26. I think that may be a cultural thing where when you've decided to do something, you say "I've done it". I ran into that with some of my mom's neighbors in South Florida.
  13. That could be true, but it's not what the injury report is saying. If it's an AC joint sprain, it seemed to affect Allen for about a month. It's possible he's out for the season opener then back. BangedupBills says "He is still very much in play to play Week 1, the next week of practice will be key to watch. " Joe Buscaglia had him going on IR but Joe never said what information or evidence he has that it's "at least a 1 month injury" Assuming neither of them have solid info from the team or McK, I put Kyle Trimble injury assessment >> Joe Buscaglia injury assessment.
  14. We really don't know what's going on inside the meeting rooms and inside the clubhouse. Remember, McDermott is the one who was observed getting all up in Matt Fairburn's face chest-to-chest and chewing him out "Are you With Us, or Against Us?" for some reason - I don't remember the specifics.....Fairburn has an MMA background IIR and was un-flapped by it, but I think it was a momentary glance at the inner Sean Mcdermott. Point is, McDermott comes across as a level-headed and patient man in front of the press, but he is still a successful HS wrestler, a college football player who made good as a walk on, and a football coach wrangling players who are a good foot taller and twice his mass. I wouldn't bet the rent that hes all sweetness and nice in private.
  15. One more time, if there is a collective bargaining agreement and a certified union, I don't believe the employer can unilaterally change the rules. So the NFL/NFLPA bargained a set of protocols, they both have to agree on a change.
  16. Beasley is not gonna be cut for being prick-less. It is possible, if Beasley keeps on with the factually-incorrect, reality-doubting Twitters like: isn't more vigilant with his masking in the facility, and hits a 4 game suspension, he might get cut for "conduct detrimental" Facts: It's a point that these data may be missing some asymptomatic infections that aren't detected using the NFL's current 14 day testing cadence. How many those might be is probably beyond the scope here. It's probably an over-estimate. Saying "at least had the shots and hadn't made it to that point yet" is like saying "I almost scored a TD, except I fumbled on the 3 yard line". There's a reason it doesn't count. As an aside, I keep reading Beasley's tweets and my fingers start twitching towards making an account so I could send him some stuff Then I decide to do something more constructive and less frustrating, like clean the basement, or weed the sidewalk. I cancelled my IG account - I was starting to DM people, which was fun in its way, but I swore I never would. Sidewalk Ho!
  17. He took it, that's the point. 🎉🎉🎉 When someone I've been talking to, slowly and patiently over months, finally hits a tipping point and decides it's in their interest to get vaccinated, I don't say "what took you so long?" I say "That's Great News, I'm so happy to hear that! I'm gonna sleep a bit better tonight!"
  18. They can't have given him a message anything near that direct. I'm sure the latter statement is true, but the message has to be framed very differently. He's been Beasley's little disciple. But the reality is, Beasley has a cap hit of $7.3M and a salary of $4.7M. At 18 weeks, that's $260,000 per game. Beasley got fined basically, 6% of a game check and 0.2% of his cap hit. Lil' Dirty on the other hand, just got fined almost 1/3 of a $55k game check, 27%, and 1.5% of his contract. He's said they could pay him in candy, but at the bottom of the roster and with financial plans for his restaurant and startups plus some family to take care of (a grandmother? or aunt?), he just might have decided "Money Talks, bull#### Walks" to Beasley's schtick.
  19. The card says Pfizer. If he has already tested positive Covid-19 (which would not be a shock, interacting with thousands of people at his BBQ events and restaurants) he can be considered fully vaccinated in 2 weeks.....in time for the regular season
  20. That's One! Per NFL rules, if McKenzie had a positive RT-PCR test for Covid at some point (like off-season), he counts as fully vaccinated 2 weeks from now. Otherwise, he counts as fully vaccinated 5 weeks from now, 2 weeks after he gets his 2nd shot I could be wrong, but I really don't think the NFL is going to do this. Not just for being unvaccinated. After agreeing with the NFLPA to make it voluntary with different protocols, that would be a bad look.
