  1. I was thinking that earlier when I saw the report no Micah Hyde - Baby Hyde on the way!
  2. Urban Meyer is under the microscope: https://www.nbcsports.com/video/urban-meyer-says-vaccine-status-certainly-consideration-jags-cuts?ls=pftvod "NFLPA investigating Meyer after vaccine comment The NFLPA will investigate Urban Meyer after the Jags coach said he considered players' vaccination statuses when making roster cuts, and he probably wasn't the only one—but he was the only one who admitted it." This is pretty much what I felt when Beane came under scrutiny earlier in the off-season for saying if it took cutting an unvaccinated player to achieve a threshold and obtain a competitive advantage, he would do it - that every other GM in the league would privately do the same thing but STFU about it. That may be why the NFL never set thresholds But also: Beane was firing a "warning shot" to tell players "this is something to think about", but now he and McDermott are all "no, that won't be a factor" with plausible deniability stacked high as sandbags around a floodplain house, and Urban Meyer is opening his yap and openly saying HE DID what the NFL cautioned folks not to. Why would any sane coach or GM admit that, after the NFL and NFLPA said "You Can't Do That"?
  3. I kind of wondered that Do they? I wonder if Barkley will go for it. Even at vet minimum, he'd earn 3x more as a regular player than on the PS. He might decide he'd rather go back to Cali and play with his kids and run 5k's or Titan (the race event, not the NFL team) or whatever he was doing.
  4. If Long Snapping were so easy that anyone could do it, teams wouldn't keep a dedicated long snapping specialist
  5. To be fair, I don't recall hearing much Rodgers whining in the days when he was throwing to Jennings, Driver, or Nelson and winning the SB, vs losing the last two Conf. Championships. Give Allen a decade and have him throwing to Adams and who? while we lose successive conference championships and he feels the clock winding down on his Superbowl window, and maybe he won't handle his situation so quietly, either
  6. I don't know. Sweeney has very little game experience - 129 snaps over 6 games in 2019, which is 12% of the snaps He's kind of like a mythical creature, everyone has an opinion of him right now but very few actualy sightings have occurred.
  7. I believe you are mistaken. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/08/10/nfl-will-retain-modified-ir-rules-allowing-unlimited-players-to-return/ After 3 weeks, the player becomes eligible to return to practice and the team can take UP TO 21 days to put him back on the active roster. But the player can play as soon as he's ready, be that 1 week, 2 weeks, or 3 weeks.
  8. Yikes. McKenzie does some beatiful jukes, makes a sweet one-handed grab with his L hand, then immediately flips the ball to his R hand and grabs his L shoulderpads with his L hand But, he does have a week and a half, so.... Sweeney looks good actually.
  9. In an actual game situation, does anyone think a DE actually covers Bease successfully?
  10. So you're saying the same number of concessions could serve the same # of ticketholders and get more business if they shortened the lines by operating more efficiently?
  11. I'm just reporting the finding I heard: lower # of admissions overall, higher concession sales than when full attendance. My source is someone in a position to get 1st hand data. And yes, it would have to amount to more concession $$/person, but the point was it went beyond that into more revenue per week (although fewer people). Management was surprised it worked out that way. It was unexpected, and they were trying to figure out why, and if there would be a "sweet spot" where they could increase admissions and still make more $$/person, like maybe 2/3 capacity or 3/4 capacity would be even better if the $$ per person stayed the same but the # people could be bumped up. It's a good guess that the concessions were not operating at max capacity open to close, since apparently they did have the capacity to serve more people. It's also possible that having a reservation/timed entry system spaces people out so that the concession buying is more even.
  12. I don't think we're talking about "opposite" things You're talking about the effect of concession pricing on concession profits I'm talking about the effect of attendence (thus concession lines) on concession profits But maybe I don't get your point?
  13. Surely, no argument there. Just questioning whether he was placed on IR for a concussion.
  14. Hollister is a 4 yr vested vet and is not subject to waivers. He was a free agent as soon as he was cut, and can sign with anyone he chooses.
  15. Usually don't IR a guy for concussion and have not heard "he's in the protocol" They said he went out with a head injury, but it's also possible he re-injured his foot and didn't feel it until the next day. Did Beane say why he was going on IR?
  16. That last is where I am I am not sure Sweeney has shown himself to be as good as Kroft - we didn't see him at all in 2020 or past the 1st week of training camp But, I also don't think he has shown himself to be worse.
  17. Of course no GM tips his hand, but Beane sure sounded like he's staying put on the Bills 53 man roster and "On to scouting the 2022 draft!"
  18. I want to trust, but our WR got eaten alive by big physical corners in the AFCCG. Now maybe the outcome is different if Allen takes more check-downs, or if our WR are less banged up, or a butterfly flaps its wings on the milkweed in my neighbor's yard. But maybe having a good TE is important to take the next step. I guess we'll find out.
  19. I'd like to feel all positive about this, so I'd like to buy in. My question though is when did we see Sweeney shine? He played against the Lions then put a boot on and was not seen in practice again until...today?
  20. Harsh, but 😂 Kroft did have 3 TD and 9 1st downs, which is pretty good for 12 receptions. Smith had 2 TD and 3 1st downs in 4 targets Hard to say "nothing" is an improvement on that.
  21. True that we added nobody "Worse" depends upon more use of Gilliam/Tommy Sweeney being worse than Tyler Kroft, which could be true Or it could not be true - won't know until we see them Also depends upon an extra OLman being a worse blocker and worse at "leaking out" for the occasional catch than Lee Smith was Which likewise could be true, or could not be true, won't know until we see them.
