  1. Tues is normally off during the season. Practiced Tues, took Thurs off
  2. QB doesn't have ~65% completions and low INTs if he's doing much of that
  3. Stephon Tuitt says "hi" Highsmith and his groin also trending in the wrong direction
  4. Oh. My. God. If that were any cuter, I would Melt. I dunno about tagging Harrison Phillips as the guy on the Bills who could eat the most wings. My money's on the OL, especially the younger guys like Dion Dawkins, Cody Ford, and Tommy Doyle. I think they could make Phillips look like an amateur.
  5. It could just be me, but I think the "sling the ball all over the field" is the operative concern. Lamar is very good at the throws he makes, but teams that defend him effectively key on certain areas of the field because he's known to be not as effective making those throws, thus doesn't try as often. He made some strides last season, but not enough to strike fear into the defense. I thought that was pretty common knowledge (ie not ignorant) and also pretty universally applicable to NFL QBs (ie not racist) Teams did something similar to Josh when he was struggling with the deep ball in 2019 - they would play Cover 0 and dare him to throw the deep post because he couldn't hit it, and they knew it. Lamar can throw the ball just fine. All over the field is another question.
  6. Just a point here, Irv - how would you notice that? Since you are not a mod, and we mostly don't discuss our actions on the board, you don't see all of what gets hidden and what/who gets warned, right? It's not uncommon that I get PMs from people filled with indignation that they have been warned based upon "political bias" or in spite of "political bias" Just injecting a fact, Over and Out
  7. Covid list impacts: Cowboys are without starting guard Zack Martin and reserve guard Brandon Knight: https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2021/9/5/22658721/cowboys-roster-moves-another-cowboys-player-gets-moved-to-covid-list-two-players-return-to-roster Tampa Bay is 100% vaccinated but that doesn't mean they can't see impacts, if any of their players develop symptoms today and test positive. Gentle reminder that this is not the place to rail against the NFL's Covid Protocols, they Are what they Are
  8. It's interesting that sacks don't quite line up with time to throw. For example, a lot of the QB who hold the ball the longest (Jackson 13, Murray 27, Allen 26) aren't the highest in sacks - because they're so mobile. Other mobile QB like Wilson 47 and Watson 49 did take a lot of sacks, I would guess reflecting them waiting for a throwing lane that never opened. Roethlisberger didn't throw a lot of picks (until the playoff game against the Brownies) but some of the QB who get rid of the ball quickly like Fitzpatrick and Smith, did so at the expense of INTs at times We helped Ben close to a regular season low on completion % and close to a regular season high on INT, let's do it again.
  9. He's Dead to me now Hope he enjoys the housing prices and traffic
  10. Not sure I saw this here. Alualu DNP with elbow and Highsmith limited with groin Something to watch
  11. I could be mistaken but I think pro-football players are a bit different. With 11 DLmen? Why did you think that?
  12. I'm not sure how useful it is to the guys on D, but something about he lifts his left foot [Edit: just heel] for pass but not for run. Here: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/08/23/ben-roethlisberger-still-has-a-run-pass-tell-in-shotgun-formation/
  13. I think Dawkin's calves are probably bigger around than Stefon Digg's waist
  14. I don't think they would...he was their 3rd round draft pick in 2010, and was #3 or so on the depth chart his rookie year behind Mike Wallace and Hines Ward His next season he was outplayed Big Time by the Steelers 6th round pick, Antonio Brown, so he bumped to #4 A lot of it was Arians as OC, I don't think his scheme at the time had a lot of use for a guy with Sanders strengths. They used him more when Haley took over, but even so...he was down the depth chart there and was considered to be a disappointment relative to Brown, drafted in the same year but much later. Pittsburgh was kind of like "See Ya!" So Sanders moved to Denver in FA and immediately started catching everything Manning threw to him, and Manning threw to him A Lot.
  15. Could you? What significant injuries did the Bills have first 4 games of the season, last 4 games of the season? I'll hang up and listen.
  16. It's effectively a bye week. Never fear, we're doing our knuckle pushups and our ladder drills and our wind sprints. We'll be ready on Sunday.
  17. Strange choice for a One Hope. I just want us to WIN, second, I want us to play solid in all 3 phases. As long as we win, I don't care who plays. Just remember Sanders was a Steeler for 4 seasons with Big Ben as his QB and Tomlin as his HC. Possible the Steelers may have some info on physical traits and tendencies
  18. That. Is. Awesome. Really good piece by Dan Fetes. Loved Poyer's reaction.
  19. Beasley is Good. And his contributions to the Bills offense are Big (unlike him). You know how some of us said the whole thing with Michael Sam or with Colin K had to do with value/distraction ratio? LeSean McCoy smacked it down and took some flak for it, but he was right: a guy who is a star of stars or even an important contributor can do stuff and be stuff that are kicked to the curb (or just not picked up) in a mediocre or fringe player. Beasley is an important contributor, and it wouldn't make the team better to cut or trade him. That's why you get negative emojis. Now, if Beasley flouts the protocols and gets fined again and positions himself for a 4 game suspension, that may change. Unfortunately, he's also positioned himself to earn extra scrutiny when the NFL reviews facility video records. Actually, I see the opposite problem: none of the protocols are more strict, and for many on the team they are much looser. No offense, man, and not gonna keep up a bickerfest, but No. No, you did not.
  20. Well....but so far by all reports, hospitality tents are safe from him
