  1. Give it a rest, “Law”. The Steelers have a defense and they came to play.
  2. You’re better off with nfl.com or a stream, we’re really not good at play by play here
  3. I don't think Gilliam has been game-tested that much. Also don't think Gilliam is seen as a serious run threat yet.
  4. He mighta got their faster Did Beas and Feliciano do "I love you Josh Allen"?
  5. I was thinking about that. Another factor might be with McKenzie's shoulder, perhaps they want Breida to run some of the gadget plays he normally runs and save McKenzie for the punt returns (which we hope are numerous) and the KOR (which we hope are few).
  6. The inactive that snapped my eyes open and had me blink was Andre' Smith. Because we're already without Bam Johnson and Smith is such a staunch ST'er, I was thinking "increased role for Andre the Giant on ST this year". They must really feel Dodson has come on as a STer. They also want every DB they got active. interesting.
  7. I don't think Moss got "beat out" by Brieda. I'm guessing this is gameplan specific and has to do with plays Daboll thinks he can work against Pittsburgh
  8. Did that count include Reid Ferguson or no? Ed played a lot of 1TDT, yes. So did Vernon Butler. Bills got through the year in the DT room saying "OK, everybody play 1TDT when we tell you and eat your cabbage steaks and spinach, then we'll give you the 3TDT reps and roll in the steak and the chocolate volcano cakes" I never did see a snap count breakdown of who was playing what role . I tried to roll my own for one of the games using all-22 and quickly gave it up - just too tough
  9. Mongo is ready I wanna see that beautiful smile post-game, after we win:
  10. Unpinning since I assume all involved are parked and enjoying the tailgate
  11. In the clips I saw of the Steelers preseason game, it looked to me as though Ben had slimmed down a bit and was considerably more mobile If he had to run for his life, he would be lumbering like Lee Smith.
  12. This!!! Wait, I had no idea....@SDS you're a Sept 11 baby?
  13. "uterrly irrefutable point" I do not think those words mean what you think they mean You said "Since the merger 13 rookie QBs have started a playoff game. 10 have led teams to playoffs, and most of them were fairly pedestrian teams. The merger was 51 years ago. 13 dudes total. By my rough math, thats a .07 % chance for a team to make the playoffs w a rookie QB." Then you said "Nope, the math is not wrong, but there are flaws in it, I’d agree there." So "rough math" with "flaws in it" is now an "irrefutable point" and it's an "arrogant burden" to ask them to explain your calculation. Too much. I have no idea how you came up with 0.07% chance for a team to make the playoffs with a rookie QB. I'm trying to be polite and not tell you your math is wrong and you should abandon your argument until I understand what your assumptions were and HOW you calculated that, but since that's apparently an "arrogant burden to lay out the math", OK - your math is wrong, and you should abandon your argument ASAP. You've laid out nothing. You've given a number of rookie QBs with more than 7 starts and a time frame, and came up with this 0.07% chance thing, and substituted "argument by insults" for actually demonstrating the accuracy of your "stat" by explaining it. Dave's right, you know. That's 12 playoff teams x 16 seasons plus 14 playoff teams x 1 season or 206 playoff games in those 17 years. Even without looking at what's probably the correct basis set for calculating odds ("how many rookie QBs have played at least 7 games and NOT gone to the playoffs?"), 10 rookie QBs in playoffs/ 206 playoff games is roughly 5% of playoff games QB'd by rookies in that time frame. Step away from the 0.07% thing.
  14. That's actually a great question. I'm not sure of the reason. I can speculate, that there may have been games where coaches chose to activate more skill players to have more options available, and perhaps in-game injuries put pressure on injured OLmen to finish the game, since they're so critical to it. Assuming they're counting the LS as an OLman, 8 OLmen means you have 2 reserves (probably a swing tackle and an interior OL) That's actually kind of minimalist.
  15. Then show your work, please, because it's not a calculation in the article you linked.
