  1. Funny how that “minor” calf strain kept him out of all the Bills preseason games & resulted in an injury settlement
  2. I pointed out on one of the “regression” threads that there are two meanings of regression that are being used interchangeably: 1) regression towards the mean in a statistical sense. There are numerous reasons for this including defenses adjusting, more snaps given to the run game, different WR corps, the wild card of injuries etc 2) regression in skill - return to previous mechanics, footwork, decision making etc The former may well occur The latter is clearly what some folks here and some pundits have been predicting
  3. I don’t believe Smoke refused to run any routes. But he seemed to lack the short area quickness and the physicality to get open, catch, and hang on across the middle
  4. Judging by the reaction of the natives it is believed the threads discussing these topics already may suffice
  5. Not only that but going into the game Sanders catch % was like 42 or 43% or so - “go ahead and double 14” Now that we held the Manny Sands Emergence Party, DCs spinning the prayer wheels
  6. No, it doesn’t suck but since I doubt all those things were turned around in 4 days practice, it might be nice to acknowledge that your prior take might have been a bit extreme
  7. Thought they were RPOs not scrambles for the most part
  8. I think teams seem to worry a fair bit about taking away Beasley Sanders, jury still out on whether he’s washed or just hasn’t built rapport with Allen yet. One pass I saw I think Davis would have gotten it (if healthy)
  9. Dont like seeing both Jackson and Wallace on the list WTF Star?
  10. The “get what you paid for” thing is important to me Do you have the same Gamepass interface as last season? Because they changed (degraded) the interface this year in US
  11. Yeah, Diggs does it routinely for recovery and McKenzie does it (just two that have posted)
  12. Im not arguing that Allen doesn’t need to improve or the pass game doesn’t need to improve. My point is when the offense hangs up 35 points it’s strange talking’ “slump”. Give me a slump like that most weeks! let’s look at it a different way. The bad decisions/pick need to go. Keep those up, better offenses will exploit them. But obviously, >70% completions would be a strong game. It’s not missing 20% of the attempts per se that poses such a problem. I think people are going nuts over a handful of missed passes and psychoanalyzing Josh’s fingernails because there weren’t enough other opportunities to make up for it. I’d love all 22 to get the full picture, but lacking that, I would say it’s on the OLand the passing play design vs that D as well, not all on Josh. Sanders not clicking on all cylinders with Josh also plays a role
  13. Then the OP would be well advised to say so: “passing offense slump” would probably draw broad agreement. In game 1 where we didn’t pack an effective run game, the two would be the same. In game 2 where we did and a short pass game to boot, it’s not an apt descriptive It’s unlikely to correct itself. However, bringing a sincere rush threat and short passing game will correct it in time, along with Allen working on the handful of throws he missed and the OL continuing a “get well” campaign
  14. more than one thing can be true. Josh missed 3-4 throws where a receiver was open and he had time in the Miami game and a couple in the Pittsburgh game. And no that wasn’t a “sure TD”, though it would have been a contest
  15. Having rewatched every pass from Game 2, I think that’s pretty much mistaken. Allen missed 3 throws where he had enough time and an open receiver. He made a handful, maybe 4, dangerous throws he shouldn’t have made being hit or pressured as he threw and showing bad technique
  16. Only with Bills fans do we score 35 points on offense including 2 passing TDS and have fans agonizing about “offensive slump”
  17. I understand your point, but PFR is usually pretty reliable. Homer nods I suppose
  18. I think he probably knows it was Edmunds accepting for the D
  19. I could be wrong but I think the data teams value from PFF may not be these grades. PFF puts together a lot of basic data - what personnel are on the field in different packages, down and distance tendencies etc
  20. so part of their definition is time from snap to throw & watching Mia game a lot of Josh’s completions were very short & fast
