  1. I don't know where you work. Where I worked, using the wrong words about the wrong people at the wrong time could absolutely forfeit your opportunity to be employed by a given company, or even in a given business. This isn't a new thing; it's always been that way. Making it into some sort of morally relativistic matter ("he didn't do anything THAT horrible") misses the point. Insulting the Head Honchos and owners in writing has ALWAYS been what we called a "Career Limiting Move".
  2. I keep reading this, and I honestly think it's bunk. It's not like I'm lily pure or something, but I have never made fun of someone with racial memes or used epiphets and sexual innuendo to insult people at the highest level in the industry where I worked. Neither has anyone that I worked with or who worked for me to the best of my knowledge. You simply don't have to have a very high level of "couth" to avoid that stuff.
  3. Anyone know where I can get me one of those Buffalo logo hats with the little icicles on the Buffalo?
  4. Yep, Sorenson looking at Knox like "whatchu runnin around like that man, your QB on the run, he'll be sacked, ball will never get there" To be fair to Sorenson, he's kind of like KC's version of Levi Wallace. He's a solid player when the KC front is doing their job and containing/bringing pressure (and when he's allowed to be physical). With some of their front 7 out, he's been getting picked on in part because opposing QB have too much time.
  5. Oh Sheesh. Didn't Josh Allen call it in his interview? to the reporter: "As is your job, you're going to make this a bigger deal than what it is. We're in Week 5. 4 wins doesn't get you to the playoffs.....it's a Week by Week league and you're either on Top of the World, or you need everybody fired and change everything up." Sorenson made some key plays for them in the playoffs last season. How short the memory is.
  6. I hope you're right! I dunno. I think there are a couple of fixable factors for the Chiefs. The question is how quick they are to address. 1) It's my impression, and correct me if I'm wrong, that the re-vamped OL hasn't quite come up to speed yet. The general impression I have is that they're better in the middle, but that Orlando Brown hasn't always been the elite LT they hoped they traded for, and that Niang has been doing well for a 3rd round rookie but any OL with 3 rookies is bound to have growing pains. The KC OL is well-coached and they should improve 2) Let me tie threads together and bring in this assessment from Jim Kubiak of The Buffalo News, who writes a weekly column analyzing Bills QB play: Kubiak doesn't mention, but another component of that of course, is decent run defense which the Bills did not demonstrate against KC last season. Anyway, the point is, the Bills, Ravens, Chargers, and Browns are among the top teams in the AFC and probably the league. I don't think the Cowboys and the Packers have enough defense to shut you down, not sure about the Titans or Broncos either. I think the Raiders are gonna be in disarray, but we'll see. These teams may not have the defense to do what the Bills, Ravens, Chargers and Browns managed. And again - a lot is in the Chiefs control, for Mahomes and other players to be more careful and disciplined with the football. Good post!
  7. Inane comment. I like to read Kubiak because he consistently delivers value in his analysis, I don't have to screen out any flashily-written babble that completely misrepresents the development of Allen and the Bills offense under Daboll, and he tells it like it is. He's not a "superfan", he's an analyst. I'm not a "superfan" of Kubiak, I enjoy his analysis. When he stops doing good analysis, I'll stop being a fan. Kubiak did have one "fanboy" moment at the end: 😂
  8. Here. We. Go. Unless I italicize, all text are quotes. https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/jim-kubiak-bucs-provided-template-for-beating-chiefs-allen-bills-elevated-to-perfection/article_b94e708a-2b02-11ec-8ec2-67bbd1891318.html Jim Kubiak: Bucs provided template for beating Chiefs; Allen, Bills elevated to perfection The three most important stats of the game: • Number of plays: Bills – 54; Chiefs – 79 • Yards per play: Bills – 8.1; Chiefs – 5.0 • Turnover ratio: Plus-4 in favor of the Bills. Allen was 5 of 6 on throws 20 yards or more beyond the line of scrimmage, including a 61-yard pass to Diggs, a 53-yard touchdown to Knox and a 35-yard touchdown to Sanders. Kubiak uses a "do your job" grading system on each play. He grades Allen’s 95.25% for the game.
  9. Agree, and actually I was a bit dismayed by McDermott going after it. I would like him to advance to Jr Hoodie-like grasp of the rulebook.
  10. I think KC's concern should be Minding Their Own Store. 2 turnovers against the Ravens 4 turnovers against the Chargers 4 turnovers against us Last season the Chiefs D was good enough (or maybe those specific opponents bad enough) that they could turn the ball over 4x a game and still win. But it's not sustainable, a good team will burn you for it. The Chiefs need to clean that up to turn things around. Didn't see the Ravens and Chargers games, but against us, those were "man whupping man" turnovers. It's not like their players are just being super-careless, but they are setting them up with their play. Pringle tried to get too much, Neal helmeted it hard. Mahomes made some risky throws that to him, haven't been risky, and we took advantage. The fumbled snap at the end of the game, I think was fatigue and frustration making Mahomes try to look ahead instead of securing the ball before trying to throw it. JMO. KC's second concern should be their D which is not "meeting expectations" in any way. I wrote some stuff about my concerns on their FA losses and how they replaced them (or didn't) on it pre-season
  11. Paper Boar https://www.tigerfdn.com/ But the Boar grew tusks and went after the Tiger this time.
  12. Exactly agree. We can appreciate the analysis of the Chiefs game, which rings true, while understanding that his overall assessment of the Bills 2019 and 2020 offense seems to be that of a guy who actually didn't watch the Bills very much or understand their offense, and doesn't "ring true" in the face of objective metrics like completion percentage (way up in 2020, and not because Allen was better at "Bombs Away!" offense) and YPA (down just slightly between 2019 and 2020). We don't need to toss that gorgeous baby (the KC game and his breakdown of it) along with the slightly scummy, gray bathwater (his rather flawed analysis of how the Bills offense evolved from 2019 to 2020 and why). And in fact I'll go a step further - the Bills offense, including Beasley, exploded last season because Allen just picked teams apart with the intermediate, 10-20 yd pass. That was the area where Allen improved most between 2018 and 2019, and that was still the team's "bread and butter" last season. We can see this in Beasley's average YPC (11.8, 63% YBC) and Diggs (12.1, about 70% YBC - and a huge DROP from the 18 ypc in 2019 Minn). Davis and Brown have significantly higher YPC, but lower # of receptions. Allen's deep ball was improved, but still not his best asset last season. He was average to the L and the middle of the field. And it wasn't there in his first 3 games. 1 of 8 vs Pitts, 2 of 5 vs Mia and WFT on passes beyond 20 yds. 7 of 20 overall. A factor there was apparent lack of timing with Sanders who missed almost all of training camp. Brady has said it takes him about a month to build timing with a new WR, and here we are in game 5, I would say the Sanders/Allen timing is ticking right along. Another factor was playing "run for your life!" against the Steelers pressures. The gap in Allen's game, including last year, was his ability (and/or willingness) to take the checkdown to the short passes behind or just ahead of the LOS - the throw into the blitz to the "hot read" in the territory vacated behind the blitzer. And many of those he did take, were not completed, especially to his left. And that's part of what the Steelers did. They got enough pressure with 4 that the deep passes didn't have time to develop and Allen didn't have just that extra moment to set his feet or get his hips open for a more accurate throw, they blanketed the intermediate stuff with 7 DB, and they said "yeah, we know you're not gonna take the checkdowns". Eventually, Allen did take them, and we moved the ball A huge sign of progress (to me) is that after the Steelers game, Allen seemed to get it into his gametime DNA "I gotta take those". And he has. Some charts from NFL Nextgen illustrating my point 2020 passing chart: Steelers game showing the missed deep shots and eventual transition to short passing: PS I think Dawkins has mostly "got his groove back", which matters.
  13. I think one under-appreciated factor has been that Josh Allen has improved somewhat on selling the fake handoff.
  14. FIFY. No one is ever found "innocent" through a trial. They are found "not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt". Important distinction. He was found liable for their deaths in the civil court case and assessed $33.5M in damages. https://sites.psu.edu/emberpassion/2020/01/30/the-o-j-simpson-trial-distinctions-between-criminal-and-civil-law/
  15. So if I VPN myself to Nashville, I should be able to get it? Can you explain this last? Also tell me about ESPN on Yahoo My Steelers-loving neighbor with the parrots has cable, and I could invite myself over. But she recently visited the NFL HOF in Canton, and brought me back a Bills HOF coffee mug. Now I'm feeling a little guilty that I taught her parrots to sing the SHOUT! song, even though when the Bills played the Steelers she only got to hear it 4x and her team won.
  16. Straw man. The question isn't whether they refs were trying to rig the game, the question is whether the game was called (he doesn't even get into no-calls) in a manner which favored the Chiefs. One need not have conscious or deliberate intent, to result in bias. I believe you know this. The article's conclusion is that it pretty clearly was.
  17. Doesn't count as a positive when you hold the premier back to 57 yds, but give up 139 yds on the ground including key big runs from the QB. But it's a true point that ST did their part to lose us that game, with a pick on a catchable-but-off-target throw from Allen to Roberts as the cherry on the Sunday.
  18. BIF he didn't say "we really believe in X", he praised Beasley's unselfish nature and team spirit. He's done that for a lot of guys. I think it usually means "You Aren't Making Stats, but I See That Good Play!". In Beasley's case, I think it means "thank you for not having a public meltdown hissyfit" I can't remember him "really believe in" any of thoe guys you list, TBH. I remember him saying Lee Smith needed to "get locked in" in 2019 when he was pulling a lot of false start and holding penalties. And he did - very few in 2020. And then we moved on.
  19. Be a good hoodie for Josh to wear on the way to the Superbowl. I have no evidence for this, but I believe Josh wore it to make a little "chip on his shoulder" "remember where you came from" point against the Texans. It seems Davis Mills was a 5-star recruit, rated as the "top QB in his class" coming out of a private HS in Atlanta, GA who received several scholarship offers, including to the CA school he attended (Stanford). "Five star recruit, best QB in your class, multiple scholarship offers, eh? I'm from Firebaugh. Went to JuCo. One scholarship offer to Wyoming. Let's Go." Technically, one can reproduce while on one's ass
  20. Kumerow is a ST regular. Has taken some 60% of the ST snaps each game
  21. "So Don't Say What you Say Everyday ....It's Highly Inappropriate!!!!" I think that might explode the assistant who edits the recording I noticed that.
  22. Have not found this elsewhere on the board Especially interested in the Tre White pass interference call on Kelce. Pretty big penalty because instead of 3rd and 5 at the 33, they had 1st and 10 at the 15 and went on to score. In the clip shown, seems pretty clear Kelce knew he couldn't catch the ball so he grabbed White and flopped, pulling White with him. No Devil like an Old Devil. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2021/10/12/22721807/penalty-recap-buffalo-bills-at-kansas-city-is-a-mess By the way, the author Skarekrow points out that the PF penalties on Clark and on Ed Oliver were both correct by rule.
  23. Sal Capaccio said the sweatshirt sales have raised $80,000 for the school! They certainly sold quickly. I bet there's an untapped market if they wanted to do a 2nd run
