  1. That's not right either, they really should run a route to give Josh options. For example, if his LT gets blown backwards and pushed onto his ass.
  2. When we were letting them score on every drive, I was surprised we didn't platoon with Klein more. He had played so well the week before. I think Josh is accustomed to the sneak working when 3 DL stare at him. Bobby Johnson would say something like "there comes a time in the NFL when you're expected to block a good player 1 on 1. When that time comes, you got to do it"
  3. It's possible there was a similar play called and Josh didn't like what the defense was showing and audibled to the sneak. I tend to agree with you but that's sheer 20/20 hindsight on both our parts. If a play were too tricky and got blown up people would be saying "why not sneak, what's Allen's success rate there, ride the hot hand?" IMO the Titans were jumping our snap all night. I expect Barkley got a huge cheer in the locker room, but really, we need to self-scout and change more stuff.
  4. You said "WhoTom doesn't make stuff up" as though questioning him constituted an unreasonable accusation of "making stuff up", or at least so it seemed to me. If you'd said "I generally trust WhoTom" I would not have asked "may it not be questioned?" That's one of the places I asked, BTW and got no answer. I feel I should add I generally agree with most of what you said in your "humbled at the goal line" thread, especially that McDermott's goal is for the team to be playing its best in December, not October. That said, it was supremely frustrating not to take that W home.
  5. I think they had hopes for Forrest Lamp as well, but he got injured (which had been his problem)
  6. This. If they thought Hollister was a better #2 TE than Sweeney they would have kept Hollister and cut or traded Sweeney. It would be silly to make that decision in August and then spend a pick to get him back in Oct.
  7. In principle I should have empathy for the struggles of their fanhood In practice, Yeah.
  8. I seem to recall people agitating for him prior to the 2017 season, but I could be mistaken Indeed
  9. Shouldn’t that be intentional grounding on Keenum? It didn’t make it back to the LOS
  10. I remember when folks here wanted us to sign Bridgewater.
  11. Miller looks like the guy he killed is himself. Miller to the tent
  12. Could you be a little more specific about what exactly was lost, Please? We cut John Brown, who was injured for much of last season and visibly “not himself” when he did play. Brown was signed then cut by Las Vegas at the end of preseason and has been without a team until Denver signed him to the PS about a week ago. The league perception seems to be that physically he’s not what he was somehow. Meanwhile after 6 games Sanders has 24 catches for 413 yds. At 6 games last season, Brown had 14 receptions for 194 yds. Are you trying to argue that keeping Brown (“what was lost”) would have been better? Are you trying to argue that keeping Brown would have been better than signing Sanders? Or what exactly is your point?
  13. Pregame, said that Mayfield has a fractured humerus (upper arm bone) in addition to torn labrum, and says he’ll be back next week OK No Chubb or Hunt Who ya got?
  14. Im not saying “made stuff up” but is it not legit to ask when & where it was said?
  15. Yeah, Douglas is listed as "OL" on the Bills website, but AFAIK his game experience (2016, Fins 2019 Titans) is all at RG I think the Titans viewpoint on Douglas is "been there done that not revisiting"
  16. Epenesa was a 2nd round pick and has shown marked improvement his 2nd year. His snap count has gone up, even with being inactive last game. I think he's not a "sunk cost" yet. Ford and Phillips may be sunk costs. Durrr I read that and thought "Ebrom"
  17. Durrr, because he wasn't gettin' 'er done with regard to pass protection. Our line was a sieve with him in there. It's bad, but he was grading out the worst. Why would it make sense for Pittsburgh, with an immobile elderly QB, to trade for an OLman who got benched for inability to protect an agile young buck with high ability to escape on his own?
  18. I've asked this elsewhere and didn't see an answer. Whence comes the info that Allen checked into that QB sneak play? Thanks. That's a bit like saying "Other than That, Mrs. Lincoln, How did you Like the Play? FIFY Seriously though, you bring up a point. Leslie Frazier even said, in a piece on the Bills at halftime, that they don't like to adjust the gameplan. He cast it as causing the players to "lose confidence" by the message "we worked on this all week and now you're changing it already?" But another way to look at it is, if something was worked on all week, and isn't stopping the opponent, wouldn't the guys charged with executing the gameplan prefer a change to something that might better suit what the opponent is actually doing? This seems as though it could be a flawed philosophy for the D.
  19. https://buffalowdown.com/2021/10/21/buffalo-bills-3-players-they-should-consider-trading-for-before-the-deadline/4/ Thoughts on these 3 suggestions? I love his swag but if Feliciano is the answer, What is the Question? Feliciano may be one of the best back-up centers and back up swing guards in the league. That said, I don't see anyone offering to trade a better OG to us during the season. Our best realistic hope is to find someone on a PS or who was released with an injury settlement, who might develop into an upgrade. Or Boettger's continued development, perhaps. They really liked him at LG last season.
  20. The mystery on Kahale Warring is why, for a 3rd round pick higher than Knox from the same draft, he's contributed so little. We kvetched about Knox in 2019 and 2020, Warring makes him look prolific. KW spent 2019 on Texans IR with a concussion (not usually a season ending injury, so probably a "stash") and the first 2 months of 2020 on IR before doing...not much. 7 targets in 7 games, 3 catches for 35 yds. Waived at the end of 2021 camp. Had the distinction of being waived by 3 teams in 10 days this Aug/Sept before the Bills signed him to their PS. It sounds as though he's very raw, maybe more raw than Knox which is a scary thought.
  21. (this guy is a beat reporter for the Texans, used to cover the Ravens for the Baltimore Sun. I assume he knows agents) For those who say "who?" Josh Adams RB from ND. UDFA signed to the Iggles PS. Active in several games and finished with 511 yds and 3 TD. Cut and signed by the Jets to their PS, active through Sept, waived Oct 2. Reggie Begelton WR. CFL player 2017-2019 - all star. Spent 2020 on the Packers PS. Cut at the end of camp. Jacob Capra UDFA OL for the Packers. Impressed PFF in preseason against the Jets. Sounds undersized for a G - 6'5", 265 lbs. Report Jacob Dolegala, QB, story above. Evin Ksierzarczyk, OT, discussed elsewhere. Matthew Sexton WR. 2020 UDFA Speedster signed by Steelers after re-appearing at his school's pro-day in 2021. Cut the day after he muffed 2 punts. Darrius Shepherd WR. 2020 UDFA rare player signed by a team (Packers) after a rookie camp invite; PS, elevated for a couple games. Spent off season with Chiefs. Greg Stroman CB. V Tech. 2018 7th round pick of WFT. played 15 games. 2019 IR, 2020 played a bit then IR again. Released at the end of camp. Sounds like he can play but struggles with health Ken Webster CB. Ole Miss. 2019 7th round pick of NE. Cut at the end of camp. Signed by the Dolphins, played. Phins PS last season. Cut mid-August. The players who interest me most are Capra, Ksierzarczyk, Stroman, and Webster but that has more to do with perceived need at those positions than with their pedigree/experience.
  22. That's part of it. I think another part is that he hasn't played much with guys who could reliably get YAC (sometimes on him, due to ball placement). So I think in part, he's trained himself to look for throws that will move the chains without YAC. That's very true, but it's also true that the Elephant in the Room is that the 2nd to last drive needed points because our defense couldn't stop a nosebleed.
