  1. I think PI isn't "ball nearby" it's "ball in the air".
  2. Absolutely. And see the link above about not being the first time there were problems on this set. https://news.yahoo.com/alec-baldwin-rust-camera-crew-193409810.html Like Ventura said, if something like this happens it's not an accident, it's because you don't know what the hell you're doing with a firearm and you're not following proper procedures. Apparently, not this movie set.
  3. Preach. I own firearms. I like to shoot. I'd like to own more firearms. I don't care if people think I'm a gun nut. And I agree with you completely. There are proper procedures for handling guns and munitions and if they are followed, this ***** doesn't happen. No, it really doesn't. I wouldn't make that claim. My claim is that "there are no accidents" (or vanishingly few) when it comes to guns. If proper gun safety procedures are followed, Cheney doesn't shoot his friend, Brandon Lee is still alive, and so is this poor unfortunate woman.
  4. Or maybe it's not part of the allure to becoming a professional athlete for all athletes. Marshawn Lynch, for example: "I'm only here so I don't get fined" My guess is that living the "Glamorous Life", getting offered designer clothes and GQ-equivalent magazine covers and being able to "play" as much as he likes with the ladies is part of the allure for some *cough* Diggs *cough*. My guess is that Josh is part of a group that just wants to be a great football player and have attention come from his play, and it's more of a mixed blessing - kind of cool to have West Herr give him a 🔥🔥🔥 truck, super-cool to interact with kids and know he's making a lifetime memory for them, especially sick kids where he's lifting their spirits just by walking in the room and saying "hi". And he understands that taking time for interviews and media appearances comes with the territory. But he'd like it to have an "Off" switch where he could drop in to Bar Bill and eat a meal in peace, as I believe he could his first 2 years in the league when he was known to Buffalo football fans but not so much to the general citizenry of Buffalo. There's a story one of his Firebaugh friends told where they were at lunch after a game of golf, and someone came up to them "hey, aren't you..." and he totally Buffaloed them and sent them off persuaded he was no one special so the group went back to their lunch. And he said S. Cali is great because no one cares about football there. That doesn't happen now. S. Cali may not care about football, but Celebrity is a different matter.
  5. Rachel Bush agrees with you on the disparity in holding calls: https://nypost.com/2021/10/21/jordan-poyers-wife-rachel-bush-slams-refs-after-bills-loss/ Well, I agree with you too. I think the Diggs PI was marked correctly. Spot of the foul. But it was a bit hard having 2 TDs called back due to holding when it seemed as though major holds were missed on Henry's run. I felt they were obvious enough even the announcers were surprised...they hesitated then commented "No Flags"
  6. I actually think Knox has been pulling a few targets away from Diggs. We'll see how Allen feels about Sweeney. The guy can catch, he looks awkward as hell to me but he Gets 'er Done.
  7. Bills have said nothing, as one would predict Guy on the injury thread who knows him said apparently 3-4 weeks Common injury timelines: https://www.orthoped.org/bone-fracture-healing.html Metacarpal bone healing 3-4 weeks (that's an assumption that he broke a bone in the palm of his hand, which is quite common) The hope is that surgery will push him towards the shorter end of the timeline, but the reality is bones heal at different rates in different people, and we don't know the severity of the fracture, either. Here's Banged Up Bills injury history of Knox: https://bangedupbills.com/2020/09/11/te-dawson-knox-injury-profile/ The good news is, unless the Bills have someone they want to sign to the 53 man roster, the bye week means they have almost 2 weeks before they need to make a decision about whether or not to put Knox on IR (until Saturday Oct 30 at 4 pm). So that's plenty of time to look at follow-up xrays and see how he's progressing.
  8. It wasn't just that, Knox wasn't a polished route runner and didn't know how to handle himself against physical coverage. He also was hit-or-miss with his blocking, in part because if the D stunted he seemed to become unsure who to block. He showed improvement last season and even more this season, on both counts. Boy's been working hard and deserves success. Hope this doesn't rob him.
  9. Well Durrrr But you can go to a pizza place or another restaurant with your kid and not be interrupted, correct? I hope he knew he'd be shown. I think it's a double edged sword for the players, on the one hand, it has to be a BIG rush knowing you can make someone's day just by snapping a selfie with them or signing something, knowing you can make sick kids happy just by visiting a hospital etc. On the other hand, they must want to be able to shut it off at times and have a meal in a restaurant or watch a hockey game or something without being thronged
  10. Especially with working out Shepherd, who is blazing fast, I'm wondering if Stevenson isn't developing as they hoped. I believe that players on IR can still be in the facility, attend meetings, and work with position coaches and so forth (but not practice). So it's possible they've decided he's got a ways to go with the pro game, and they're looking for another way to add speed this season. For some positions I'm sure that's true, but the Bills have an open Practice Squad spot right now due to Hart being signed by Tenn.
  11. Thread to talk about games, matchups, injuries, Bills rooting interests - Anything you got that doesn't seem substantive enough for its own thread
  12. Gripped it well enough to pass for 205 yds (63% completion). Which is not to say that he wasn't playing injured Yes, it was. Jimmy G started 2 games and was injured. Brissett started a game (W) and was injured. Brissett took the next start anyway (vs Bills) and L.
  13. According to Schefter where? Don't see it on the real Adam Schefter account. His last on the topic was to re-tweet Marcel LJ quote of Flores "Tua is our QB"
  14. I place no credence in what Martellus Bennett says here. First of all, the Patriots lost only 1 game while Brady was suspended. The one with the Bills. So if he can't remember that correctly, what are the odds he can remember anything else correctly? Second, Garappolo was reported to have sprained his right A/C joint in the 2nd of those games after a bone-crunching Kiko Alonso hit, which Brissett then finished and played the following week. I sincerely doubt Bennett was part of any pre-game discussions between Garappolo, the coaches, and the trainers about whether or not Garappolo could play QB effectively that day. Garappolo was out the previous week and listed as "questionable" that week and the following 2 weeks. So if the Patriots were counting on him and last-minute about Brissett, instead of preparing for both, that's on them. But mostly, I don't think it's "up to" the fellow players to decide who is being a "B word" or truly in too much pain/too injured to play effectively. Seems to me the guy being the B-word is Bennett. Sprained A/C joint in his throwing shoulder. Had been out the previous week and was "questionable" for that game. https://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/09/jimmy-garoppolo-shoulder-injury-ac-joint-fantasy-new-england-patriots
  15. There's no question. OTOH when a team has an elite run game, like Tennessee, Cleveland, or Dallas, they typically also do have an elite run blocking OL and that's sometimes under- appreciated. Not that Henry isn't a Terror, but he was somehow much less of a terror his first 2 seasons under Mike Mularky as HC
  16. The only thing about blocking, is that like Incognito who played with his hands practically taped into clubs they can put a brace on his hand/arm and tape the hell out of it and protect the hand for blocking. Whereas I'm not sure how you can brace a broken hand for catching a pass without interfering with pass-catching ability
  17. I have never understood how Joe Buscaglia grades players and he is not, to my knowledge, transparent about it at all. In weeks where Beasley saw 40-50% of the snaps and was targeted 2x, Buscaglia gave him a C or something, no explanation of why. It seemed totally arbitrary.
  18. Knox wasn't on the field (that was Sweeney) Agree they were at a disadvantage I think there may be truth to the comments that Allen always sneaks to the L of center. I think Barkley knows his tendencies so the Titans did too. If true, this is a piece of self-scouting they need to revisit. It may have to do with his surgically repaired R shoulder and protecting his throwing shoulder though. It just seemed like a poorly designed play all around, in other plays someone is back there giving Allen a hard shove in the butt
  19. And that is the NFL's lever to be involved. A straightforward trade they have no involvement. A trade with contingencies, league reviews and approves or rejects the contingencies. Discussing trade is a long step from "could have deal done this week, or by trade deadline"
  20. IR is not minimum 3 weeks. It's 3 games. So if we IR Knox now, he's out for 4 weeks. Unless there's someone we want to trade for or sign off the street, we apparently don't need to make a decision about IR'ing Knox until the Sat. before the MIA game. So it only makes sense to wait almost 2 weeks and have a look at how his hand is progressing. If it wasn't a complete break but only a partial fracture and it's been pinned, it's not impossible he might be able to just miss the MIA game and come back the next week. (be MIA the MIA game?)
  21. Now this is just lame. If you want us to consider a rookie as a potential improvement, look up his damned name. And while you're at it, spell Kumerow correctly. Kumerow is on the roster for ST. He's been getting 65% of the ST snaps every week. He's a backup WR. He's not going to get substantial playing time on O unless someone is hurt. You have yet to explain what exactly you believe was lost? Beasley was on the field for 66% of the snaps last season and 67% so far this season. Davis got substantial snaps last season when Brown was injured, otherwise he saw the field 30-40% of the snaps and is averaging 35% this season. No changes there. When you say "is what was lost worth the gain?" you're not talking "just as good", you're implying something was lost. I ask again, what was lost? What penalties are you talking about? The hold on the Knox TD cost us 3 points, but while it was a hold, similar or worse holds on the Henry TD went uncalled. There's always the element of chance there. But it was also on 1st and 5, not his fault we couldn't seal the deal on the rest of the downs, and it was his only penalty in the game.
  22. I feel about that like I feel about the team putting Milano out there when he couldn't lift his arm to tackle last season. If the guy can't do the whole job, rehab him until he can.
  23. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/bills-forrest-lamp-works-out-injury-settlement/ Not to us, depending upon the terms of the injury settlement He just recently signed with the Saints PS so presumably his rehab is finished. Rehab + 6 weeks.
