  1. Proehl has been bouncing around the league on various practice squads (longest stint: Rams) and was recently released from the Chargers practice squad So good teams have been looking at him Jacob Capra played 3 seasons at Oregon, finished his degree, and transferred to San Diego State for his last season of eligibility. UDFA who signed with the Packers. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/get-to-know-packers-undrafted-free-agent-og-jacob-capra/ar-BB1gjQyh He's been on their practice squad.
  2. I personally don't put a huge amount of stock in PFF evaluations of OL, but you do you ....and in any case, he was NOT benched, he played the entire season except when injured, and the entire post-season ending in the Superbowl.
  3. I'm not sure what the bolded means - you think the Chiefs should have given a conference rival a piece that might make them better? L D-T missed preseason with a broken hand. Trey Smith looked good in pre-season, and played well at the start of the season, so no reason to bench him for a guy in his last contract year. OTOH it is D-T's last contract year, so if he wants a new contract it helps him to see the field. Trading him is a "friendly" and the Jets are not looking to be a threat. That, and probably doing a decent thing for a 5 year vet who played well for them, in his contract year.
  4. Duvernay-Tardif was legitimately a starter on a Superbowl team in 2019. Duvernay-Tardif was outplayed by a rookie OG this season, thus making himself expendable in a trade There's some question as to whether his year off, and his broken hand in preseason, impacted his level of play But even if we say "OK, showed he could start 2 years ago", there aren't many of these guys sitting around on the benches of other teams. Duvernay-Tardiff missed 2 games in the middle of the 2019 season. He started in 17 games, including all the playoff games and the Superbowl. He was on injury report for those two games and was given a game designation of "out" for the first and "questionable" for the second. To refer to that as "so bad at OG in 2019 he was benched" is just plain wrong.
  5. Fortunately for the world, we're spared from Hapless lawmaking. Agree, prayers to the victim and their family
  6. Duvernay-Tardif opted out last year and lost his starting RG spot to rookie Trey Smith Dan Brown, who I've never heard of, is a 7 year vet at TE who has played for Baltimore, Chicago, and the Jets. 9 receptions on 13 targets for 103 yds in the past 3 years. Looks like primarily a STer
  7. Can you tell us about some of those recent in-season trade-deadline moves for offensive guards?
  8. right, everyone knows all GMs are ready to make that move. Just send them a 5th rounder or a backup DLman or something.
  9. Practice squad I thought....Logan Woodside is the official backup
  10. I think you have a key point when someone drives drunk and gets an accident involving serious injury or fatality, chances are good it is not the first or the second or the tenth time they have driven drunk (and likely gotten away with it). Sometimes the worst thing that can happen to a guy is to do something stupid or dangerous, and get away with it.
  11. This. He said when he was asked about it, he wouldn't give them any sound-bites
  12. I guess you can't blame Peyton for that after his son's Flag Football jersey name incident There was one interview, I forget who it was with, but the interviewer threw Josh's own joke about calling his family farm's pistachios "Josh's Nuts" back at him. You could see Josh look nonplussed and look off-screen as though for input from a PR guy before he responded.
  13. I have not seen this, so I'd like some kind of verification that this is actually ''thing" before commenting.
  14. I can't find recent confirmation, but back in 2012 there was this information: And of course, nowadays one need only have one's cell phone to access Uber, Lyft, now many local cab companies - not to mention I think most of these players have their "people" so there's "phone a friend"
  15. This. I spent my late teens/early 20s working in a pediatric ER. I am speaking my personal moral judgement here, not the law which varies from state to state but IMHO if you drink over the limit (or use drugs) and get behind the wheel of a car, intentional murder is just what you've done.
