  1. So in reality, it's more complicated, but a commonly used perception-reaction time value is 1.5 seconds. Ruggs would have had to perceive that the Rav4 was in his path and react to brake or avoid it when he was more than 345 feet away (more than the length of a football field and an endzone). I could have missed something, but all the reporting I've seen was that Rugg's girlfriend had serious injuries but Ruggs was released. And yes, it is a point that generally if you're released from hospital the same day, your injuries weren't that serious.
  2. Agreed this is not being vaxed or unvaxxed. Again, Rodgers claims (in the McAfee show) that he did not lie to his employer, just the press and the rest of us. He justifies his lie by claiming that he had to do it to avoid being attacked and torn apart by media and fans. There are a number of players who have declined to answer on the vax question and have not been torn apart, that I've seen, anywhere. Someone here made a claim about "feral vaccine zealots" tearing players apart just for saying they're not vaccinated, and doing the same to players who won't answer. I saw a bunch of this kind of article, https://thesportsrush.com/nfl-news-im-not-going-to-be-answering-questions-about-vaccines-josh-allen-other-buffalo-bills-refuse-to-answer-questions-about-covid-19-vaccine-not-convinced-to-get-vaccinated/ or this https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/lamar-jackson-josh-allenn-and-unvaccinated-qbs-could-cost-their-teams-2.5m-per-game-20210827-0002.html Where is all this feral tearing apart? Both of those seem like reasonable coverage of the issue to me - the unvaxxed guys could cost their teams (as Rodgers is, and could perhaps but not certainly avoided if he were vaxxed), guys who refuse to answer aren't showing leadership to the team on the issue. Fair. Their right, but fair points. For that matter, where is all this feral tearing apart of openly unvaccinated players? Kirk Cousins, who said he is unvaccinated, drew some critical coverage, but frankly, this reads as milquetoast compared to some criticism of his play etc he has incurred. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/08/05/why-wont-kirk-cousins-get-vaccinated/ If that's "feral tearing apart" those words have a different meaning to some people than to me. Now Beasley took a lot worse attacks, I'll grant - but he went a lot further than just saying he's unvaccinated or refusing to answer on Twitter. He tweeted what some regard as misinformation repeatedly and re-tweeted some one-sided controversial people (as well as some stuff he was right about). So that was kind of a self-induced problem. And right now, Beasley's looking better and better because at least he's a stand-up, straightforward guy. Rodgers is a wussy little weasel IMO, creating a problem for himself and then ranting on and on to blame everyone but himself for it.
  3. Re the 2nd and 3rd - Agreed Re the 1st - Rodgers claims that his employer (the club) and his coworkers knew his vax status from Day 1 and that he has been following all protocols, except during the pressers ("because it didn't make any sense to me") Of course, once he lies (or at best, is deliberately deceptive) on one topic, his credibility falls across the board with me, so I'm gonna leave it to his club and the NFL to figure out if its true or not. He made it clear that he feels he doesn't need to follow protocols that don't make sense to him. If he thinks he can pick and choose what he follows based on what makes sense to him, and he criticized the protocols in general, who is to say what he actually did?
  4. Hmmm I just may be eating that for dinner tonight. In exchange I give you "You Wont Be Single Long" Vodka Cream Pasta https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/you-wont-be-single-for-long-vodka-cream-pasta-recipe-1912258 I think I use half that amount of tomatoes (or no sugar added tomato sauce). I also find it helpful to "temper" the cream by mixing some of the sauce into it before adding it to the pan. I like it over tortellini, the dried tortellini from Aldi here are pretty good.
  5. Blood orange, eh? Does it matter if you drizzle it before you drench, or would mixing it in with the egg work? We're big fans of the olive oils and vinegars from Vom Fass, but I tend more to get their high quality varietal? olive oil for dipping, and get the flavored balsamic vinegars. But, I do like their lemon-infused olive oil a lot ....need to see if they have a blood orange. The big thing from our local Vom Fass, though, is the Swiss owner holds the most marvelous raclette dinners in her shop in the evening. My kid gave me a raclette grille last year, and we've been enjoying it a lot - can't wait to start having friends over for raclette dinners (there is nothing socially distanced about raclette). I've also gotten into making charcuterie boards. Some Trader Joe's Fig Butter is usually part of it.
  6. Dogs: They're Good. And we all need to see something Good.
  7. Oh, My Ears and Whiskers, I hope not! Because attempted witness intimidation and threats Would Be Wrong, Arnette.... Here's the stuff about the hit-and-run: https://sports.yahoo.com/raiders-cb-damon-arnette-sued-over-alleged-hit-and-run-car-crash-042228532.html
  8. Oh, no! Thought he was playing well there, too. Seems like a really decent guy, feel bad for him.
  9. To a slight extent perhaps...But as Rocky Landing said, Never threw a tantrum, never badmouthed his team or coach on social media, never beat up equipment on the sideline. Odell Beckham, all of the aforementioned. And, Diggs seasons before the trade, - he was Productive with a capitol P, high catch %, >1000 yards. Beckham has been catching just over 50% and was not productive last season. Much can be forgiven to a Diva who makes good.
  10. It would appear you had reason. If ever there were a video falling into the NFL's "conduct detrimental" hole... Yikes and Yowza.
  11. "(points out that Rodgers led off with a bunch of very slanted political rhetoric) So, Right off the bat, if you don't want this to be political or you want to stay above the political rhetoric, maybe think about the way that you're talking about it....." "I also thought it was ironic that here's a man who is going on the Pat Macafee show, that at the time had 75 thousand live viewers, is going to be seen by millions, complaining about "cancel culture". No one's cancelling you, Aaron. You're going to be hopefully out of quarantine in 10 days and you're going to go back and play football. If the Packers decide they don't want you on the team next year, there are plenty of other teams that will sign you ...it's Pure Irony." "He said the reason the NFL has all these protocols is to make it the most un-fun year as possible...I don't think that's why they're doing this, to make it un-fun for Aaron Rodgers, I don't think that's it" "He can say that he didn't sign anything, but the NFLPA came up with these protocols along with the NFL, and Aaron Rodgers is a member of the NFL PA...maybe if he stood up and said something?" (which, for example, some players did about the unvaccinated testing frequency and it got changed with a compromise)." Guy talks about how if the NFL fines Rodgers for the press conferences it's hypocritical because Kirk Cousins and other unvaccinated players have been doing press conferences unmasked ( I will say from the Reuters explainer, if the NFL doesn't have the info on who is or is not vaccinated then it really did rest with the clubs to enforce that)..but he agrees Aaron Rodgers house party breaks the NFL's rules for an unvaccinated guy. Says Rodgers points at Allen Lazard as an unvaccinated player people are "cancelling", host says he "quite honestly hasn't seen anyone canceling Allen Lazard but maybe there's something I missed". Rodgers went on at length about unvaccinated players being "canceled", I don't see it either, maybe it's something I missed. "I'm not disagreeing with Rodgers with his idea of this is what I felt was best for my body, that's fine.....but he talks about spending all this money putting together a medical team and what have you...and then comes out of nowhere and says he also consulted Joe Rogan. It's one thing if you're coming from a place where you're saying I'm going to do this homeopathic stuff, and this is how I'm going to treat my body. And then to throw Rogan in there, and ignore all the doctors who are countering the points that he is making, and go to a guy like Joe Rogan who last time I checked didn't have a medical degree...that to me is like "buddy, what are we doing? What are we doing?" And again, it's his option, but if you're going to make the claim you're going through all the boxes, 500 pages of research (ed: from AR's personal medical team), and then go "oh now I'm talking to Joe Rogan"...I just feel that argument is undercut, just a little bit." Ya think? Points out that after saying he doesn't want to make it political, Rodgers proceeds to bring in politics..."I don't give a *****, but if you don't want it to be political, WHY ARE YOU BRINGING POLITICS INTO IT if you're trying to stay above it? That's just neither here nor there and I. need. alcohol." He points out that it's an unnecessary self-inflicted controversy, with Aaron Rodgers playing the victim: "if Aaron Rodgers said, I have an allergy that's why I didn't get two of the vaccines and I didn't feel comfortable about the third, and it's my body, my choice" That's It. Done. 90 seconds, move on" instead of 45 minutes making all kinds of excuses. Says it's bringing unnecessary drama and an unnecessary spotlight to the team. Can't disagree.
  12. That's fine, in fact that's appreciated. But you made a claim that Rodgers was "forced" to lie because if he refused to answer, he'd be assumed to be unvaccinated and "feral vaccine zealots" would "pile on" I just want to know where this "pile on of feral vaccine zealots" has occurred to either players who have refused to answer about their status (like Josh, and IIRC Tremaine Edmunds) or those who have openly said they were not vaccinated and not gonna be, but haven't made a thing of waiving their views around Twitter (example: Kirk Cousins)? I don't think you can point to a thing, because I don't think it's happening. Example of a pile-on towards a player who said "I'm going to keep that private" or who openly said "I'm not vaccinated" but didn't make a big campaign out of it on social media (a la Beasley, who was tweeting all sorts of stuff). You can't either, amIright? We ask people not to provide their version of "facts" about politics or covid in this forum because we all disagree on what those facts are, and it tends to take people away from discussing football, our prime mission. There are plenty of places where you can "scratch that itch" to your heart's content, and only a few to discuss Bills Football
  13. Haha I had the same thoughts. Cole Beasley Appreciation - at least he was a man about it, up front and straight about his beliefs, not deceptive and weaseling and trying to crown himself as a Freedom Walker retrospectively. Wait.....playing that song worked very well for the Patriots for a decade....... The reason it's being cast into the public eye in the NFL is not to "create division". It's because, given the covid protocols the NFL and NFLPA agreed to, whether or not a player is vaccinated and whether or not they test positive for Covid impacts their game availability. And game availability is considered of relevance to the public, I believe because of betting on the game. That's why we have weekly injury reports and game status.
  14. Where is the "pile on" of athletes who have declined to answer if they are vaccinated or not? Josh Allen is one. I haven't seen a pile-on - maybe an article expressing the opinion that if he isn't, he ought to be, but no "pile on of "downright feral vaccine zealots". For that matter, where is the "pile on" of athletes who have flat out said they aren't, and aren't going to be, but have not made a target of themselves by tweeting and retweeting all kinds of stuff as Beasley did? Kirk Cousins would be an example. Show your work please. Where is this pile-on of "feral vaccine zealots" on athletes who have declined to answer the "are you vaccinated?" question?
  15. Monoclonal antibody infusions should NOT be being used as a preventive therapy. The risk factors qualifying an individual in Rodger's age group to get the infusion upon positive Covid test include: Obesity (nope), Diabetes, Chronic Kidney Disease, Heart failure, Cardiomyopathy, possibly Hypertension, Pregnancy , a condition or taking medication that weakens the Immune system (in the individual health care provider's judgement), Regular use of medical technology such as ventilator or feeding tube Hypertension, and medication that weakens the immune system (in the individual health care provider's judgement) would be two that might apply to Rodgers and we wouldn't know by looking at him, so I'm not gonna judge.

  17. PSA: How to Obtain Monoclonal Antibody Therapy https://combatcovid.hhs.gov/i-have-covid-19-now/monoclonal-antibodies-high-risk-covid-19-positive-patients How to know if you qualify? You need not be "very high risk", just be over 65 or have one or more known risk factors: https://combatcovid.hhs.gov/i-have-covid-19/how-do-i-know-if-im-high-risk Have symptoms, but no healthcare provider? Call the Combat COVID Monoclonal Antibodies Call Center at 1-877-332-6585. This tool may or may not be useful to find locations which offer this treatment near you: https://protect-public.hhs.gov/pages/therapeutics-distribution Fundamentally, your primary care physician should help you obtain this treatment, but if you don't have one, there's a toll-free number to call and a website showing locations that have received shipments. Note that the monoclonal therapies are believed to be most helpful if they are started EARLY (within 10 days) and before one becomes seriously ill. Some people in this area (Missouri) have obtained referrals to outpatient infusion centers through an Urgent Care visit.
  18. Added some information confirming that our Canadian friends will be able to enter the US and Highmark with a combination of two doses of any vaccine:
  19. Thought our Canadian friends would like this information from YLE. Click to Embiggen. The most cogent information is that Any Combination of Two Doses of an FDA approved/authorized or WHO-listed vaccine will be recognized as "Fully Vaccinated", along with 1 dose of J&J. CDC Info on Air Travel to the US https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/proof-of-vaccination.html CDC information on International Travel https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/international-travel/index.html Hope this helps any of our Canadian brethren planning to attend a game at Highmark.
  20. OK, Fair. I can go with that viewpoint. Just Win, Baby. I just don't see him as the take us over the top player where the "juice is worth the squeeze"
