  1. I don’t know if it makes me feel better or worse that it’s afflicting other teams so badly as well
  2. Defense has not given up, that’s for reals Brissett is limited but fighting hard I have absolutely no problem with rooting for “whoever is playing the Ravens”
  3. So now that you have the site, can you pick a team you feel does “mix it up” leading to more offensive success, and tell us how their personnel use differs W2W?
  4. Well, that would go to what McDermott has said, "when you take an opponent for granted, that's when you get your butt whipped". And on offense, we most certainly got our butt whipped. Yeah, you know, I don't buy it - not that the drops weren't big and couldn't have been turning points in the game, but there are always gonna be drops and so forth. When the offense is doing such that two drops turn the game, the offense isn't doing enough.
  5. I completely agree with the above. My only point was that if it's true as you said "these guys should be fairly interchangeable talents........that's what they've sought to have and invested in on the OL.......depth of veteran talent. It's not like Feliciano to Boettger........or even Ford........should be a drop-off in talent.".....well then....shouldn't Daboll be able to take it for granted that the OL will perform about the same? I agree that he can't, so my conclusion is that losing one or more of these guys must matter more than we think; there *is* a drop off, or something else is a factor. Someone said elsewhere that it was FELICIANO who was calling the OL protections last season. I don't know that that's true, but if it is, that would explain a freakin' lot about the debacle we saw last Sunday with Feliciano on IR. I had made the same point you made above: that Morse was asked "were communication problems an issue on the line?" and responded "No", but that it seemed pretty evident that in fact, there WERE communication issues. Unless Morse has a very particular and limited idea of what "communication problems" are vs. "correct protection problems" vs. "correct protections called & communicated, one or more guys didn't apply the correct variant of the protection to the defense we saw correctly"
  6. I'd say the Dolphins are doomed There is that "any given Sunday (or Thursday?) aspect On the other hand, Harbaugh has a history of seeming able to keep his team focused I guess Pity [Post Ravens Loss Edit: in the other Ravens/Dolphins thread I opined something to the effect that the Dolphins could beat the Ravens when Pigs Fly. Hence my change in Avatar. It seemed like the least I could do]
  7. Except that the reason this is notable to me is that normally, the Bills do "mix things up" with personnel much more than this. You can find data at https://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/nfl-stats/personnel-groupings/offense/offensive-personnel-grouping-frequency-2021/ On average, we run 66% (1,1), 8% (1,2), 7% (2,1), 12% (1,0) and 1-2% of 4 other formations. (doesn't seem to have week 9 stats up there yet) Well, it's weird to me because if we were struggling to run the ball or if Sweeney was struggling with blocking, how about trying a fullback (2,0)? And we usually do (as you point out) change things up at least 25% of the time
  8. Of course we do. Realistically, I think that Pigs will Fly first. Here....We.......GO!
  9. We don't know. He was put on the Covid-19 list Saturday Depends on is he vaccinated or unvaccinated, is he experiencing symptoms and so forth. At minimum, needs to be symptom free for >24 hrs and have two negative covid tests 24 hrs apart.
  10. The Titans? Yes Bobby Hart did, and while it's scored differently, pretty sure he started for them the week before as well.
  11. That was the Titans. You’re confusing your ex-Pat coaches
  12. I think McDermott is saying that the OL we have, needs to be more "physical at the point of attack" (don't remember if Wawrow quoted it, but McD said it). That's what he means about “You cannot lose sight of the core aspects of the game of football.” He's being deliberately vague about what else he wants to see, but the design of the run blocking for the runplays called, playcalling and communication on the OL to be sure everyone is on the same play, calling run plays that best match the skill sets of the backs and the OL are all places where there ought to be room to improve with the current Cast of Characters
  13. Could they? How and with whom? Pretty clear that Beane's first priority was pass rush
  14. For those counting at home, I think that is 10 days (on the list Tues Nov 2, off the list Thurs Nov 12). The theory is that when Fromm went on the Covid list, there was concern about an outbreak in the QB room thus we better not trade any of them. The fallacy there is that I don't believe the Bills signed Trubisky as their backup for Josh because they considered him as a potential trade piece
  15. Me bad if what I wrote was interpreted to mean he was "reflexively opposed" to Josh Allen. But if you heard his takes after the draft, after Allen's rookie season, and after the Pittsburgh game it's pretty clear (to me) that he had his pre-draft and initial evaluation of Josh as a player and when he sees stuff that confirms it, it stands out to him. After Pittsburgh he was saying things about "sometimes a player has 1 good year and you hope that's who they are but it doesn't turn out that way"
  16. My guess from looking at how the Bills have handled hamstring injuries in others, Edmunds will miss at least 1 week.
