  1. I think episode of thread resurrectionism is creating confusion
  2. Great writeup as usual, @Shaw66 A couple things I'm curious about if you don't mind questions: -What were Josh Allen's interactions on the sidelines? Does he mostly sit looking at a tablet, and is he talking to Ken Dorsey/another assistant or just Webb? Does he go along the sidelines talking to OLmen or other players? -On TV Allen seemed pretty frustrated after the third series, which involved an OH penalty against Dawkins and ended with a sack by Shaq Lawson. Was that just a momentary thing, or did it take him a while to rein it in and start looking at the tablet? -There hasn't seemed to be any commentary about it, but on the TV broadcast it looked as though McKenzie mis-judged the ball on the Jet's 3rd punt (early in the 2nd Q, Bills 4th offensive series). Our possession started from our own 4 yd line after he let the ball bounce, but it was strange, he didn't look like he was waving it off, and he moved forward as though he thought that's what he needed to do. Could you tell what was going on there and what happened on the bench afterward? Again, thanks for providing all the on-site color commentary
  3. To my thinking, the point of this game for the Bills offense was to execute some different run plays and utilize some different formations, including Allen under center more. If they did that successfully for the most part, it should be helpful. OhNonoNooooo....you're not "predicting a loss" Own it.....You're actually actively HOPING that the Bills lose to the Colts, and lose at least once to the Pats. Your rationale for hoping that the team you claim to root for loses, is that you think some of us fans are too "Homer" What kind of actual fan, HOPES for his or her team to LOSE because they don't like another fan's viewpoint?
  4. Even if Allen thought the play might be dead, he would want the opportunity to lay a lick on the guy and make him PAY for picking up our ball.
  5. https://www.buffalobills.com/news/bills-activate-quarterback-mitchell-trubisky-from-reserve-covid-19 Trubisky went on the list Saturday Nov 6, if that was the result of a test sample collected Nov 5, today is 10 days. (If it was the result of a sample collected Nov 6, it's 9 days) Also, Austin Proehl was released from the practice squad, which makes me think Bills may be ready to activate Tanner Gentry. He went on the list Nov. 2nd.
  6. I have not followed the Colts that closely. But they lost 2 of the 4 players who made their defensive line scary last season, in Houston and Autry, and my impression is that their DL is no longer as fierce as it was. Of course, we have shown that no DL is too bad to give the Bills fits if they don't run the ball and stay out of 3rd and Forever.
  7. LOL I came here to post this. I should have known. I think this signing at DT indicates that Star is infected with Covid and at best, will miss the Colts game. He may need to work himself back into shape which would mean missing the NO game also. I hope he will be OK and will accept the state-of-the-art treatments from evidence based medicine, whatever else he does. This guy is going to be backup depth unless someone else on the DL gets sick.
  8. The Colts are a good team. Wentz at QB is, to my mind, a huge downgrade from Phillip Rivers. Kudos to Frank Reich and OC Marcus Brady for coaching up Wentz to the same QB rating, very few INTs, only about 20 ypg less passing, and putting the offense in about the same place (8th vs 9th for points) as their offense under Rivers. When you consider that they swapped a potential HOF with one of the best football minds in the game for a QB who looked like a total hot mess last year, That's Some Coaching. On offense, the Colts lost their long time all-star LT Anthony Castanzo to retirement. Thanks to the Chiefs kicking him to the curb, they were able to pick up Eric Fisher who is very good. It's not often a team loses a franchise LT and can pick up another without a burp. Other than that, they were able to bring back almost everyone but their backup QB. Pittman looks to have taken a step in his second season. Solid offense, #8 overall after week 9. Not as dangerous passing as rushing, but like Tennessee they force you to come up with a strategy to defend both. On defense, it's a different story. I don't follow the Colts too closely, but one way or another they've lost players at every position group on D. In FA they lost both last year's starting DE and their starting MLB: Justin Houston, who contributed 8 sacks last season and gave us fits in the playoff game, went to the Ravens Denico Autry, who contributed 7.5 sacks last season, went to Tennessee where he gave us fits a few weeks ago. They were replaced with Muhammed (depth previous seasons), and rookie Kwity Paye. Anthony Walker went to the Browns. They seem to have replaced him by moving last year's RLB Bobby Okereke to MLB and backfilling with 7th round rookie Zaire Franklin. I don't know enough about the Colts defensive scheme to know how significant that is. How much time are they in base D vs nickle or dime? But....in the secondary, both their starting safeties (Blackmon and Willis) are currently on IR. Blackmon tore his Achilles and is done for the season after 6 games. Willis has a groin injury and is not eligible to return this week. 3 of their 5 losses were by less than 1 score, and 2 were in OT. 3 of them were in the first 3 weeks of the season and arguably, reflect the time needed for Brady and Reich to complete the operation to extract Wentz head from his butt and get him to play to his potential again. Unless the Bills D is able to get into Wentz' head, expect a physical, tight, hard-fought game. I saw a lot of promising stuff yesterday from our beloved Buffalo Bills, but I also saw trouble - the fumbles by Motor and Brieda; Josh's INT; a couple other times when Josh wasn't picked but threw very dangerous balls; how soft and sloppy the Bills D grew once they had a lead. The Bills still have stuff to clean up. It's Showtime, Baby; this is the time of the season when contenders and pretenders begin to separate. The Bills flunked their first test as a defense against a strong rushing team that can also pass the ball. Will they come up with a better plan this time? We'll see Sunday.
  9. So evidently your thoughts on "Coach Klein" are to judge him by his contract?
  10. And this is a key point. I think the Bills learned their lesson last year not to just plug in Klein for Edmunds. They change up the roles and responsibilities between Milano, Johnson, and Klein vs Milano, Johnson, and Edmunds.
  11. He's still developing as a route runner and he knows he can get some of the best coaching and mentoring at his craft here He wanted a 2nd chance at the KR/PR role and he was promised an open competition here. And lastly, I don't think he turned down a longer term, higher money contract to come back here. I think he had several essentially "vet minimum" offers, and the Bills offered him basically a "season on practice squad"'s worth of guaranteed money. 'Lil Dirty has plenty of street smarts, and knows that the guaranteed money matters most. And he's been pretty good, but he still has work to do. It seems to me he misplayed one kickoff yesterday which resulted in us being at the 5 yd line (I shouldn't have to point out, but I will, that he gave us excellent field position on others). He also alligator armed a pass, though it was a very difficult pass running in traffic - Honestly Josh probably shouldn't have thrown that.
  12. In his postgame presser, McDermott was asked about Isaiah McKenzie getting the WR group together before the game and giving some kind of a speech, and how has he developed as a player? McDermott made it clear that he is proud of ‘lil Dirty and how he’s developed as a person and a player, but he also sic’d the press dogs on him!!!! ”You guys should look into his story a little deeper. He hasn’t come from much, and he’s given so much to our football team” Run, Isaiah, Run! Or if you don’t want to run…decide on what you want to keep private and what you want to share, and polish up your platitudes! I think he probably does have a cool life story and it would be interesting to hear it. That’s the sort of feature Tim Graham or Ty Dunne used to excel in writing. What I know about McKenzie: -he said his mother left him in the hospital when he was born, never came back -he was raised by an older relative - Grandmother or Aunt -kind of left on his own. Had some friends he would meet in the park and play basketball. I suspect that like Beasley, he can probably dunk though I haven’t seen it on video -was fired from his first job at a fast food restaurant, for eating too much of the merchandise -he said he was going on college recruiting visits on his own. he picked Georgia in the end because he went to High School with Sony Michel, and Michel had “his people” researching everything. So he figured he could kind of follow their trail, if their research said it was a good choice for Michel it was probably a good choice for him Anyway since McDermott practically told them there was a story there, expect someone to come looking
  13. Trading Mack and their center was just dumb But again, as far as the character issues, that’s what I’m asking - were there known character issues with these guys?
  14. I guess that’s what I’m asking - I don’t follow college football so I wouldn’t know - were these guys known character issues?
  15. Do you think Mayock should have predicted Ruggs getting plastered, driving excessively recklessly, and killing someone? Or his CB going full-on Gangsta on TikTok and waving guns around while threatening to kill someone?
  16. Feel free to start one. I usually like to give it 24 hrs.
  17. I think when people say ”player evaluation” this is typically not what they mean.
  18. Well, Yes. Yes, in fact he could. In fact he has. And probably will. Why do you ask?
  19. All the seeding stuff is *whoosh* over my head but how so?
  20. There are so many piping hot takes during and after a bad game that no sane human could possibly keep track
  21. Wow. I wonder if the Bills took a bit of offense to Mike White’s remarks that he should have been the #1 overall pick. “Pick THIS!”
