  1. The argument would be that the Chiefs knew or should have known he was drinking - he was drinking at the facility and got into his car and drove directly to the on-ramp from the stadium and into the back end of a car on the side of the road. My guess is that there may be video from the facility showing him drinking, maybe even having a nightcap with other coaches or staff, or interacting with other coaches or staff who could have realized he was inebriated and acted to pour him into an Uber. He was also driving a vehicle (truck I think) with Dealer plates, which raises the question if he received the use of that vehicle as a perk of being a Chiefs coach. In any event, clearly the Chiefs felt that either the PR was gonna be unfavorable enough or the case was going to be clear enough that it was in their best interests to just settle.
  2. It is more than that, per the linked article: Since that's the girl's attorney, I assume long-term financial stability means just that. The attorney knows she will have long term brain damage, may require assistance her entire life, and may never be able to hold a job or care for herself. Sounds like the Chiefs did the right thing, assuming the attorney knows his business and wouldn't settle for being low-balled KC has to know how horribly this would play out for them in court.
  3. Yeah, they admit any big dummy into Stanford 🙄
  4. No, you don't need the physical card, you can use the Excelsior app if you were vaxxed in NYS OR you can use the Clear app if vaxxed elsewhere. Also from the US CDC, clarity that "Any Combination of Two Doses of an FDA approved/authorized or WHO-listed vaccine will be recognized as "Fully Vaccinated", along with 1 dose of J&J."
  5. Asked about the Colts being a more physical team, football being a physical game, and what it means to be more physical in the game of football: "There are some teams where you can play 40 snaps but feel fine after the game, vs another game you might play 15 snaps and it feels like you got hit by a truck and that's just kind of the difference in the run scheme and the combo blocks that you can see....I'm sure it's gonna be one of those games where you wake up Monday morning and you're a little sore, but that's a great thing, great feeling" Reporter: "You don't want to feel like you've been hit by a truck" Phillips: "No you do, that's a good thing, Yeah" Reporter: "Can you explain why that's a good thing, why that's what you want?" Phillips: "It makes you feel alive, you definitely know you had a physical game, and that's something we pride ourselves on, being the tip of the spear for our defense, and if that means getting double teamed by 330 pound dudes that's what it means" Huh. There may be more to Phillips than being nice to differently abled kids after all. https://www.buffalobills.com/video/levi-wallace-and-harrison-phillips-next-man-up-mentality
  6. If he's feeling good and no symptoms, he should be able to return Tues or Weds regardless of his vaxx status and whether he still tests positive
  7. From what Hyde said it sounds as though Star is feeling well, anyway. Agree, sounds like Harry didn't get the McDermott "give nothing away" memo. Also a little odd that Hyde would be talking to Star but Harry in the same position group maybe isn't
  8. So I'm going to stir the pot a bit about Star Lotulelei https://www.buffalobills.com/video/micah-hyde-prepare-accordingly 4:50 in Reporter: "Talked to Star at all? How's he doing?" Micah Hyde: "Yeah yeah I talked to Star. Feeling good and happy to have him back for sure." Not "Will be happy to have him back when he's cleared" or "Hoping to have him back". No indication on the Bills site or Twitters that he's been activated Is there a reason Joe is commenting on this? Oh, I see, associated with this comment from Harrison Phillips: But then there's the comment from Micah above on Weds?
  9. No, no. Why, Bless his little heart. This one 100% gets a "little". And on that note To the OP: Punctuation saves lives. Lets eat Grandma -> Let's eat, Grandma
  10. There was an article, I think in TBN, on what exactly happens at halftime. I've been looking for it...anyway, in the article, Frazier talks about how they don't like to really change the game plan because they feel it sends a wrong message to the players "we've worked on this all week and now you're giving it up so quickly"
  11. I don't understand that last sentence fragment from Scott. Is this something McDermott said about Edmunds, or Edmunds said about himself, or is it Scott's own thought?

  13. I actually didn't remember the part about just showing up at practice with his old helmet repainted. That's objectively hysterical.
  14. Wasn't that the Patriots game for years? Two 6 yard passes moves the chains. Could shut down their run, could keep them from throwing deep, and a 3 yard pass to the TE would go for 6 or 7. Yes, he's accurate, he's making good decisions, and he's playing within in an offense that's designed to not ask too much of a young QB. He's supported by a solid run game and a decent OL. He's playing well within that system.
  15. Good points. In support of the points about Jacksonville: -after the game McDermott called out opponents not respecting our run game, and physicality at the point of attack. -Daboll said "you can't just place blame on one player or one unit" -while the OL played poorly, the fact that our 2nd half drives ended "interception interception punt fumble TOD" (with an overruled fumble on the TOD) was not entirely on the OL. The first interception may have been a miscommunication/misread between Josh and Beasley, but the others were the reason Josh said "I played like *****" There were other choices available. So it wasn't all on the OL. And yes, this past week Daboll used Josh under center to good effect and used more heavy personnel to help the protection and the run game. I think there's an argument to be made that part of the shaky OL performance from a cast of characters who were OK most of the time last year has to do with other teams being able to pin their ears back and defend either the pass or the run, because from shotgun we overwhelmingly pass, and under center we overwhelmingly run. That's not to say the OL isn't better with Brown in there, and that offensive performance isn't a concern against the Colts, because they're a poor matchup on offense for our D so we'd better be able to score. Williams was NOT playing well at RT. Neither of our tackles are playing as well as they did last season.
  16. PJax is correct, it's mandated to keep a record of who received which lots of which vaccines https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/vaccination-provider-support.html The information to be recorded is standard: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/admin/document-vaccines.html Vaccine lot numbers are also tracked by the manufacturer and the vaccinator for supply chain assurance, so it can be determined whether the vaccine manufacturer and lot were in use at the listed vaccination site on that date. The NFL/NFLPA negotiated for vaccination to be voluntary for NFL/NFLPA players, so this isn't (as some others have suggested) some poor dude who was "forced" into forgery to keep his job. This is purely about his personal convenience.
  17. https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/ny/orchard-park Too early to tell yet, but the probability of precip at game time is currently 50-60%.
  18. Apparently you needed to be specific about where you wanted the Falcons to go
  19. I don’t see the comparison between Jones and Tua either. To be fair to Tua-fish, though, the Phins did go 6-3 on his watch last season, and he was responsible for a reasonable amount of offense: 11 TD, 5 INT, 181 ypg, 6.3 ypa in 9 starts Don’t shoot the messenger, but right now with 10 starts, Mac Jones 6-4, 13 TD 7 INT, 233 ypg, 7.1 ypa is not all that dissimilar offensive production I’m pointing that out not to make an argument that Jones = Tua. I see them as different players, being asked to lead two very different styles of offense, but Tua didn’t put up those numbers without playing well at times last year. The Dolphins have gone on a slide IMO because their decision to replace Chan Gailey (who runs a difficult offense for a young QB to master) with a two-headed monster promoted from within has NOT worked out well.
  20. Oooooooh, Shots Fired! So far, Mac Jones looks considerably better than Tua. How much of that is better offensive play design and coaching, and how much is a better QB, can’t tell you. Mac is being well supported but he’s “doing his job” and doing it well.
  21. Let’s be real here. Pussies are little furry animals with big sharp teeth. Claws too. Some of these guys make Chicken LIttle look steadfast To the OP: your every random thought or fear is not sufficient substrate for a good Football thread
  22. Yeah, but the team I saw tonight couldn’t get out of its own way, much less score multiple touchdowns.
