  1. He wouldn't, actually; he'd just be bad in a different way
  2. I'm guessing that FarrellsFinest is one of Those Guys who think the role of a 1TDT in McDermott/Frazier's defense is to sack the QB so: No sacks, no plays.
  3. I mean, I'm sure you're right, but I don't know; even Aaron Rodgers was honest with the team and the NFL. There are probably a couple of Those Guys on a lot of teams though.
  4. Well, if I'm correct, it's interesting because it has us going into the game with 3 DL which is unusual given McD "I must rotate my DL!" philosophy Last week, as you note, we elevated Brandin Bryant when Lotulelei went out, although he wasn't active in the game. Just seems odd we wouldn't want to go into the game with 4 DL.
  5. Do you really think it's that many guys? I could be hella naive, but I think most people (including NFL players) are honest. They either got the shot, or didn't and told the team they didn't. AB has been a loose cannon for a long time, but I agree with the person who said the teams that are 100% are probably the ones where peer pressure put the squeeze on guys who really did not want to vax, so they might be the ones to scrutinize.
  6. I thought the deadline was 4 pm today unless there was a gameday Covid list addition? The Bills got to elevate Bryant last Sunday because they had a gameday add to the Covid list (Star L.). They can also take a player off of the Covid list on gameday if they are able to do so. But I could be wrong. I guess "no news is good news"
  7. Actually, I'm here to learn if we had any practice squad elevations this week. Did I miss it up-thread? It's 4 pm Saturday, isn't it?
  8. Well...I most certainly hope you are right. One question I have is whether a wet, slippery field would change their call on suiting up Edmunds
  9. What's up with that maple-leaf topped scepter?
  10. Yeah, I know they were saying that about Star I thought there was some expression of concern about Brown's health as well, but can't find
  11. C'mon Man. You're just making yourself look silly. First you say "being dependent on an unvaccinated rookie and a long snapper to play the tackle opposite Indy's best rusher(Buckner)" Where and when have we been dependent upon "a long snapper" to play offense? Next you say "playing turnstiles like ...Bates". Where and when has Bates shown himself to be a turnstile? Both McD and Daboll made the point that you couldn't single out one player or one unit in the loss against Jacksonville. In fact, the Bills moved the ball, with 300 yds of offense. The consensus seems to be that Jax didn't feel the need to defend against the run, so they teed off on pass protection all day long with stunts and twists from 4, while they flooded the field to take away the intermediate pass. That same thing happened vs. Pittsburgh. I'm not saying our OL is good, but they were adequate last season and were adequate last week against the Jets when we forced them to respect 139 yds from the run game (136 from players not named Josh Allen) Now you say "the scrapheap addition should have been done much earlier". Hot newsflash: it's a zero sum game. Add someone, take someone away. We started the season with Williams penciled in at RT. Why? Because he started there last season and played well enough to earn a new contract. Based on preseason, they felt Ford played well enough to earn the starting spot at RG, while our draftee tackles watched and learned. They were apparently mistaken on that point, but you can't apply 20/20 hindsight and say they should have foreseen all that and done a better job upgrading our 3rd string. We probably all wish that the Bills would have sought upgrades on the IOL in FA or the draft, or at the trade deadline (they may have tried that last) but that ship has sailed, and it's different from claiming that "If Beane had real skills he would have picked up a stopgap O-lineman from the scrapheap and indoctrinated him into the system for a game or 2." as though that for sure would be an upgrade.
  12. I'll let you argue with the official NFL record keepers 🙄. Write them a strongly-worded letter. I usually mute commentary and only unmute to hear what penalty has been called, since I usually can't figure that out by watching
  13. That's true. I thought I'd heard some of the player interviews talking as though he were ill - expressing concern for his health etc. But I could be totally mistaken and I'm not motivated to go back and hunt.
  14. Huh? Also, totally not comprehending the logic whereby an OLman picked up off the "scrapheap" and needing to learn our system for 1-2 games would automagically be an upgrade. Defies common sense to me.
  15. ??? Against Tennessee, Taron Johnson took 94% of the snaps so Bills were in NIckel 94% of the time. 6% AJ Klein, but I didn't notice him doing anything that was particularly responsible for the loss? I mean it's 3 plays, he had 1 tackle and 1 assist. Yup that was it. First Indy possession of the game. 1 and 10 false start. 1 and 15 incomplete. 2nd and 15 incomplete. 3rd and 15 little dump off to Taylor behind the LOS (not even at sideline) and BAMMO, 76 yds, TD with Wink Martindale suffering a hypertensive episode on the sideline
  16. Kindly don't tell me what I think or know. I believe you to be splitting hairs (too fine a point). That's my opinion. Deal. With or without the qualifiers, I think it's a ridiculous quote - and this despite my being fully willing to acknowledge that Mac Jones is Doing His Job within the Patriots system and doing it well to date. I have no more to say on the subject. If you want to puff this up into some sort of position you believe I need to defend, Have a Ball. You pick the argument, you start the argument, you carry on both sides.
  17. So who are "all the other cold weather stadiums with roofs/domes"? Detroit, MI (2002) Indianapolis, IN (2008) Minneapolis, MN (2018) So 3 stadia? 2 of them were built more than a decade ago. Perhaps economics have changed? Minneapolis replaced a dome with a dome.... I don't have energy on the issue, but if one did, one could look into how the public/private spending was split for those stadia and how they have fared in terms of revenue sources other than football.
  18. The longest pass charted in the Cowboys game is 30 yds, just FYI. There's nothing wrong with that, just a fact.
  19. We all (mods) agreed it was time to put the kibbosh on general covid discussion here. But as a PSA, I will say: no one should be making personal health decisions based on government, drug lobbies, or people with financial interests - or for that matter, self-styled "experts" appearing on the talk show circuit and information from social media or websites with an obvious slant. Everyone should find a personal physician with good background and credentials whom they trust, and consult their physician about personal health decisions. The Magic 8 Ball says: Very Unlikely to Play This is incorrect. The simple math is that if he's out less than 10 days, he's vaccinated. If he's out 10 days or more, he's either unvaccinated, or he didn't pass the criteria of "no symptoms for 48 hrs and two negative tests 24 hrs apart OR no symptoms and 10 days - whichever is less" for vaccinated players.
  20. The Steelers released him for a reason https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2021/06/25/pittsburgh-steelers-david-decastro/stories/202106250109 https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/06/26/david-decastro-has-a-very-pragmatic-viewpoint-of-why-he-was-released/
  21. Yeah, some people dislike Florio but he pretty well has it right here IMO: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/11/20/antonio-browns-former-chef-claims-brown-got-fake-vaccination-card-from-another-player/
  22. Look at it this way. If we "take advantage of the schedule" by beating the Jags yet can't handle the rest of the schedule, we're not where we need to be anyway. In the best case scenario, the Jags loss was the equivalent of ripping the bandage off a nasty boil that had been festering since the end of last season and popped up in the season opener loss - to whit, Daboll's apparent persistent belief that we can win games without offering other teams the shred of a threat towards a run game, thus allowing them to blanket the field with 5 defenders plus 2 safeties and bring overload pressure with 4 by vacating one side of the line (because they know we won't run). I think we dismissed Pittsburgh as an anomaly due to their strong DL, but now other teams with merely decent DLs have shown they can do it. So now we all see it. The unanswered questions are 1) can we "heal" during the season against teams other than the Jets, with the personnel we have? 2) do we need Spencer Brown at RT and Williams at RG to make that work?
  23. Don't care. Just get the Dub We gave up 120 rush yards to the Chiefs and won. Gave up 146 rush yards to the Titans and lost, but it wasn't the rush yards that did for us in a 3 point loss.
