  1. There’s a lot of room between expecting a huge drop off between a pro bowl player and “completely crater the defense”. I didn’t say the latter
  2. Can we freaking wait to find out how badly Tre is injured and and what the recommended treatment/timeline is before we go there?
  3. No. Dawson was funny in his presser. “He really said that? That’s pretty funny. Do you think he’s jealous?” 😂 But he said he never uses shampoo (dries it out) and conditions twice a week.
  4. Did you hear McDermott’s presser after the game? He was pretty hot about it
  5. How about the reason of he came into OTAs fat & sloppy and was rumored to be spending more time running with Bennie the Butcher and the Buffalo Kids than watching film?
  6. Negative, must be someone else you’re confusing me with I’m trying to pump the brakes and wait to find out what the injury is before worrying about the timeline
  7. He’s been ramping up in the sense of working with trainers on sideline, but if he’s actually been practicing with the offense on special plays I don’t think that’s allowed while on IR
  8. Well, snap counts are out and on offense, he got one snap to show us anything
  9. I understand that muffs are not necessarily counted as fumbles, but as far as what he's scored, McKenzie is scored with one fumble in his last 3 seasons with Buffalo - the one last Sunday. And he had one muff - earlier this season. My understanding is he won the KR/PR job by showing surer hands than Breida or Stevenson in practice and preseason this summer. He did have major fumbling problems his rookie season that cost him his job with Denver and let us pick him up, and he lost the PR job to Micah Hyde after we claimed him. I think there's an element of "let a man get a reputation for rising early" with McKenzie's ball security issues, but we'll see I guess.
  10. I don't think McDermott sees it that way, especially on a kickoff. I think he sees it "you have one job - end the play with the football in your hands" Where are these reports? My understanding is that a player on IR is not allowed to start practicing with the team until he is "activated for return from IR". Which happened for Stevenson on this Tuesday, which would kind of preclude "a while". But there may be fine points to the rule of which I'm unaware. Thanks
  11. I think he got read the "Riot Act" by McDermott about his fumble and told he had moved down below Stevenson on the depth chart until further notice and would have to earn back any playing time he gets. "Benched for the Season" is a bit of an emotional interpretation but I'm sure he was left in no doubt that he's living in McDermott's doghouse and no timeline when he gets out. And I say "good for McDermott". I frankly didn't think he had it in him. It's not the fumble per se, it's the type of fumble. No contact, ball just came loose when he hit the ground.
  12. Well, you do you. It's not what I see back there and it's not objectively what's on film. McKenzie got benched because he committed pretty much an unforgivable act of ball security - letting the ball come loose when he tripped and fell, without someone knocking it loose and without any excuse of the ball moving unpredictably in the wind and being difficult to track. In the preseason, the consensus both from coaches (by their actions) and from media watching practices and fans watching games, was that McKenzie won the job by looking more comfortable and efficient and with fewer muffs. We'll see what Stevenson can do now.
  13. Horseshit. The team is required to report some information, like if a player has an injury, the injured area, and the player's practice and then on Fri before Sun game, his game status. You have no right to know the specifics of the player's injury or symptoms. Why on earth would you think you do? I have a different term for it, but that's me
  14. We know if he's playing. He's in the Covid protocol. He's not playing. Like concussion protocol, if a player is coming out of it you see typically some signs, like him working out over in a separate area with a trainer. Also like concussion protocol, it's open ended and each player will progress as he progresses and come out when he progresses through. We know the minimum time, but the actual time depends upon the player and his symptoms. I don't know why you feel you have a right to know his medical information. The team has an obligation to report an injury (toe, shoulder) or whether the player is on the Covid list, but even there, they aren't obligated to provide the specifics of the injury unless the player chooses to disclose it. Exactly. There are signs that he's close to return, in that Hyde talked about him as being "fine", but just like Tommy Sweeney he could go in for his cardiac evaluation and be told "Nope!" I think he is, from what his fellow players have said in interviews. But there's "well" as in, not in the hospital, not on oxygen, feeling OK or even pretty good while moving around the house. And then there's "Well!" as in able to go through hard physical training and contribute at his former level in a game.
  15. I expect with a "mini bye" and no pressers until Tues or practice until Weds, we'll see some of our media putting together a list.
  16. It may, it may not. If there's swelling they need to wait for it to go down before they take an MRI.
  17. They're not going to move Taron Johnson out of the nickle. They'll roll with Dane Jackson. Behind him we hurt.
  18. I don’t think that’s an objectively correct description of McKenzie. No returner who did that would be 6th in the league for PR even with a handful of long returns called back
