  1. How about everyone's favorite, "Pat Down" @LeviF
  2. But Doyle was apparently the backup swing tackle - he came in a few snaps for Dawkins. So now with Doyle out, I think Hart is "next man up"
  3. I didn't find this Fairburn clip or article talking about how the Pats already won this game - is that Fairburn's take? He's dead to me anyway. But I did find this Fairburn (and others) article about Bill Belichick which is legitimately funny https://theathletic.com/2889665/2021/10/29/its-fun-at-gunpoint-the-comedy-stylings-of-bill-belichick/?source=emp_shared_article At one point, this season Allen was leading the league in batted balls. Maybe they need to send Webb after him with tennis rackets:
  4. Yeah, who has Instagram and can clue us? @Mango? I can see the post without an Instagram account but can't read the replies
  5. No there are a lot of Pats fans pretending to be Pats fans posting in this thread. Oh and one guy who is pretending to be a Bills fan, but who was all over the Dolphins last year and is all over the Patriots now. and evidently the answer is "No, they don't"
  6. Given the timing, I would guess something during the mini-bye Since the Bills had time off, hope so
  7. Some have. I'm blanking on the name, but during a year when the Bills were horribly hurting for QB.....I guess it was EJM's rookie year? 2013? We started Jeff Tuel and Thad Lewis at QB....anyway we tried to sign a QB from someone's practice squad and he said "Nope, Thanks, I'm Good!" Also it used to be a team could choose to pay a PS player more $$ and I don't think the PS salaries counted against the cap. Now they count, and it's a standard one rate of pay for rookies and another for vets.
  8. Thanks Yolo! And of course you were first, but I fancied my title so....
  9. Yes, PS players are essentially Free Agents and can sign (or decline to sign) with any team. But the Giants must pay him 3 weeks regular roster money, which is $43k/game or a minimum of $130k. As a practice squad guy, he earns $9,200/week So if he stays on their roster only 3 weeks then reverts to a practice squad somewhere, that's an extra $101k Guy just got married, that would be serious money to turn down
  10. You were a good soldier for the Bills last season I wish you well! I'm a little unclear on the motivation for this move - anyone?
  11. Could be a good point. He hasn't been on injury report but now that you mention it, one of the media guys - Sal C maybe? commented that one of the recent games was the first one where he didn't think Davis looked hampered. Davis played a lot in the Pittsburgh game then his snaps went way down - I had assumed that was related to Daboll getting a "reality check" handed to him that he couldn't just keep throwing 4 and 5 wide formations out there and Oh yeah, Knox is looking pretty good. But there certainly could be an element of "heal up, guy". I actually looked into this a bit, and I believe it is related to how his routes are being run and with being asked to operate in the flats some. His YAC is down a bit - about 0.6 yds - but the real plunge is in his YBC. So yes, pathetic, but I think at least in part that has less to do with Beas himself and more to do with trying to design routes for a quicker passing game that can find completions before protections break down. Of course since the 2nd Dolphins game where he got speared - he's pretty clearly playing hampered.
  12. I think what McKenzie was probably told is something to the effect of "We're going to make a change to Stevenson as KR/PR. For the rest of the season, it's his job to lose". McKenzie would rightly interpret that as "benched for the season" but it's not the same as telling a player you're going to be inactive no matter what happens, injuries or illness.
  13. I'm not seeing the value added by playing reserrectionist with this thread, given all the other Pats threads swirling around. Sorry... We can all hope for a Bill B meltdown on Monday night though
  14. He said "out for the season" https://sports.yahoo.com/bills-returner-isaiah-mckenzie-handles-152840179.html?src=rss
  15. https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/jim-kubiak-how-bills-run-game-helped-allen-plus-breaking-down-crazy-whip-route-to/article_cb8a0588-509c-11ec-b445-979a945d9867.html What I think Kubiak doesn't mention, is that to my observation (and comments by Mitch Morse after Jacksonville), when a defense believes they can totally neglect defending the run, they can use 4 or even 3 defenders to create overload pressure on one or the other side of the line - combined with stunts and with disguised pressure looks, this is very very difficult for even the best OL to block. And we don't have the best OL. I had not realized that the 1Q opened with quite as many runs as it did: Kubiak's comments on the two Allen interceptions: I agree with that last. It's a point to be made that if one is going to take a shot, 16 seconds left and deep in our territory might be that time, but it's also a point that going up 13-0 at the half is better than 10-0 at the half. Kubiak didn't comment about the Boettger "ineligible downfield" penalty. There was some exchange on the sideline afterwards which to me indicated the whole Knox TD-called-back was ad lib improvisation after a busted play. If it's true that it was supposed to be a screen to Breida but he failed to position himself properly, I hope these are things that can be corrected and not symptomatic of problems that kept Breida on the bench for so long, because I like the "juice" Breida has given us in the run game.
  16. Well, first off, credit where credit is due....I recall you expressing concern pre-season that Sanders was adding "more of the same" to the team in the sense of an intermediate route runner vs. a change-up in the sense of a true deep threat or a big physical guy, and that the Bills offense might regret that. I thought (and think) the logic of the addition was to double-up on the intermediate area where Allen can be deadly dangerous; blanket Beasley and Diggs, or Sanders and Diggs, but not Beasley and Sanders and Diggs. That logic was premised on the Bills having a functional run game to prevent D's from keying on the pass, and a good pass blocking OL, so when neither of those came to pass - You were right. A better COP RB, a stout guard, or a speedster closer to being a functional WR would all have served the Bills better. Don't let it go to your head. 😆 Eh, I think it's more than the pass blocking mess - with his boo-boo foot pre-season, I think Sanders and Allen are just not on the same page in the Bills route-option defense as much as they need to be, and Sanders is having trouble adjusting to Allen's fastball. 5 of 8, 0 of 4, 4 of 8, No Bueno when the guy's getting 92%, 77%, 99% of the snaps. The last 3 games, they've cut down on Sanders snaps (60, 79, 77%) and his targets (2, 5, 3) and he's been catching more of what's thrown his way. Which brings us to... By what metric or standard has Davis regressed? I think actually, when he's gotten the opportunity, he's improved. Unless by regression, you mean "seeing the field less". Last season, Davis got 73% of the offensive snaps overall, 797 snaps. He had 62 targets and 35 receptions (56.5%) for 599 yds (17.1 y/r) and was scored with 3 drops. That's essentially 0.75 yds/snap or receptions on 4.4% of his snaps. He averaged 3.7 yds after contact per reception. He was a good blocker downfield. This season, Davis has seen his playing time cut in favor of Knox and Sanders. He has gotten 38% or 286 of the offensive snaps. He has 27 targets and 17 receptions (63%) for 312 yds (18.4 y/r), still scored with 3 drops. That's 1.09 yds/snap or receptions on 5.4% of his snaps. He is averaging 4.6 yds after contact per reception. He is if anything, a better blocker than last year and still the best blocker among the WR. I think in terms of catch %, y/r, receptions per snap, and frankly eyeball test, Davis has not regressed but has actually improved a bit. His opportunities have been more limited. But I've been saying for a while that I thought some of Sanders snaps should go to Davis. Sanders is only producing slightly more receptions per snap (5.9%), he has a lower catch % than Davis (59% vs 63%), he has lower YAC (1.9 YAC/reception). I think if Sanders had a few less snaps per game to put less load on his 34 yr old bod, and Davis had a few more, it would benefit both of them and the Bills. It would potentially help the outside run and screen game with Breida by putting a better blocking WR on the field.
  17. The thing is...for us, Brown was a really really solid route runner overall. Super solid. I suspect something is wrong, but don't feel it would serve anyone to speculate on what.
  18. The point is, that specific kickoff on which McK fumbled, went to the 3 yd line. He did not run it out. Now it's possible if he ran away from it, it would have gone into the EZ It's also possible it would have bounced OOB, or been downed.
